I just installed this myself a couple days ago - thank you! I was so disappointed in Vanilla Skyrim VR, this has had me in it so much! One question though - at night things are dark which is good, but the nighttime sky is so bright that I am blinded by it and can barely see anything unless I physically block the brightest parts of the sky with my character's hand. Any idea which mod file/setting I could tweak to fix it? Some kind of bloom/adaptive contrast I am thinking is the issue.
I’ve followed the install guide exactly (2 times) and the game keeps crashing before I even get to the main menu. 😢 (RTX3080, i910900K, 64GB DDR4 RAM, Windows 10)
Wabbajack... that is your guide for beginners. There are many step-by-step youtube tutorials to search for to help you use wabbajack, don't be lazy. :)
Agreed with Wabbajack, this is the route I'm about to take for the first time, modding Skyrim VR feels a lot more delicate than it used to be, I used to run around 80 mods in the past no problem now I feel like I crash my game at least once before I'm even 20 mods in now.

You're just about the only one who actually articulates on such a detailed level. Your approach to being an influencer should be a standard across the board to give quality to any type of content. What lovely timing for you to release this video - I've spent the past few days installing and enjoying the heck out of Skyrim VR using the same installation and guide from predcaliber! I tried manually installing a bunch of mods to improve it, but I couldn't get anything significant going and still successfully load the game. This one is where it's at.
I use the Wabbajack FUS mod pack with a few additional mods added on top of that (such as Legacy of Dragonborn, True storms, Inigo and Lucian followers and others) on a 3080 with 32 g ram and AMD 5600x and It runs just fine on the Quest 2 with and avg of 90 fps. I typically use a LINK cable to maintain power for looooong sessions but it works similarly well wirelessly on Virtual Desktop, perhaps a few less frames but still very smooth. Some of the best VR mechanics work really well in this mod pack including, Planck, Higgs (gravity gloves) Spell / weapon wheel for both hands, the ability to Throw your hand weapon in "God of War" type fashion with weapon return function. The FUS mod pack looks amazing, is optimized well and has the quality of life mods you really want and need in Skyrim VR. I highly recommend. Thanks Beardo for all the work you put into your videos and the service you provide to the VR community. You are much appreciated.

I just started with Skyrim VR... spent literally 5 hours modding it, now I finally got into the game, it is easily the best VR RPG game ever, not too bad given that the original is a normal very good RPG. I wished we had more titles like Skyrim VR and HL Alyx, most of the VR stuff is mini games or AA titles with 5 hours of playtime but definitely not games where you really can sink into an alternate reality for a while!
Hey Beardo, been watching a few of your VR videos leading up to Christmas in anticipation of receiving my Quest 2. Been really enjoying your content and as a relatively new subscriber, and a VR noob, a Skyrim VR modding guide would be absolutely fantastic and super helpful!
YES please do the tutorial! This video has sparked me to pick up the VR and get back in Skyrim. Currently downloading everything now, going to have a bash tonight. Great video!
I am playing the Tahrovin wabbajack now for about 4 days. It runs very nicely on my 3080. Took me about 3 days from complete modding newb, to having it work. The RUS wabbajack guide from Virtual Panda helped immensely. As well as careful reading of the instructions. Was it worth the effort. Oh my god yes. The gameplay improvements and the NSFW stuff are amazing, and something you will never get from a gaming company. It is the most immersive RPG experience you can currently have in gaming.
I recently just upgraded to the card that was your predecessor--the 2080 Super--from a 1060, and loaded up Skyrim just the other day, fully modded. I was totally floored. It was a totally different experience. Loaded a save from an interior space, walked outside and just laughed/gawked in astonishment for about five minutes at the mountain range. It's nice to finally have smooth gameplay, with pretty visuals, that's for sure. I can only imagine how it looks with a 4090! I'd probably just go full-dive and live there. 😆 Once haptics, full body tracking, and gloves are perfected, Skyrim VR's gonna be freaky good. All I need to complete my mods right now is the Skyrim 202X 7gig architecture pack. Wish me luck on finding a good, stable download connection. lol
If you look at the mod list one of them is called Window Shadows RT, which apparently simulates raytracing. Thanks for putting me on this btw, downloading now.

@@captainalex157sounds like a plan! But maybe you could direct me, when I tried tostart the process with wabbajack I started by searching in the steam page for the plugin. Skyrim VR REALLY needs Skyrim Together to be ported to it. With Multiplayer this game would really take off in the VR community. It's really one of the last things Skyrim VR needs to be complete.
I never played Skyrim before playing Skyrim VR, and it's really an awesome VR game with only a little bit of easy modding. It's a shame that Bethesda forces us to mod stuff to get the most out of the VR experience, but I'm someone who never modded any game before and the guides online make it very easy. I recommend consulting the Skyrim VR reddit for anyone looking for guides, and there's also video guides to find too. People have compiled mod packs together as well (like Wabbajack, that's a good one), where you only have to install one thing and it loads all these great mods for you... very easy! After adding the HIGGS and VRIK mods to bring in modern VR mechanics and physics interactions, the game is pretty much as good as anything else out there. Place holsters anywhere ya like on your body, use an arm to sweep everything off a table, do physical motions to cast spells if ya like, it all adds a lot. I would recommend the game for any VR player, though you do have to keep in mind that I'm someone who is relatively new to Skyrim so I'm not burned out on the game-- I get to enjoy it fresh in VR and that likely changes things, but it's so cheap when it's on sale and it's really not hard to mod the essential VR mods in. I gotta imagine it'd still be cool to see a lot of these locations in VR even for someone who played for thousands of hours, but if you're like me and never played it before ya really gotta get it and do some easy modding.
@Message_Beardo_benjo I would love too but I'm new to all this UA-cam commenting so not sure what you mean. make me a modding guide and we'll call it even 😉
Once I got my new PC this was the first thing I wanted to do but the mods seemed soo much more complicated with the new releases of Skyrim since when I modded it on my potato laptop. This makes me want to give it another try.
I tried Skyrim when it came out, but grew bored and fell completely into the Fallout 3, New Vegas, Fallout 4 worlds. Something about fantasy RPGs didn't appeal to me. Upon getting the Lenovo WMR headset, I bought Skyrim VR and was astonished at the realism. 307 hours later, I paused playing because these mods were coming out, and my i5 3rd generation and GTX 1060 couldn't handle them. So yes, please do show your Wabbajack experience. I did install a mod list for it on my updated PC, but yours looks even better. And I'll start all over again -- it's the finest large VR game out there. And if you want to do the same with Fallout 4 VR, happy to watch it.
Predcalibers mod is beautiful, FUS mod is also excellent and for the 18+ crowd Tahrovin mod adds, ahem, “everything”. Adults only!! Wabajack installs all of them, but only choose and use one. Most of us fail at modding because we don’t understand the conflicts, wabajack solves that, I was a complete newcomer to Skyrim let alone Skyrim VR, followed a tutorial by Predcaliber (Cangar is also excellent) had little to no trouble installing and now have 400+ mods running, I would recommend at least a 2080ti for this sort of load though. Bear do is running a 4090 so don’t expect to mimic his image, it’s still damn good though on a 2080. To play this wirelessly on a quest 2 is hell of an experience!
I hate to ask but I’m a total mod and Skyrim noob, can you point me in the direction of the Predcaliber tutorial you watched to learn how to install and implement the mods? Thanks!
Good find thanks for showcasing it. I really want to check this out.. but some mods really hate updating or shuffling without a clean install and a new game. I'm always torn between keeping the hours in the current character, or upgrading the mods and stuff.
Hi Beardo, how heavy is that Wabbajack pack ? And i would like it if you could make a tutorial how to install it. I have Skyrim VR but never played it more than 30 minutes because it’s terrible in it’s vanilla state and i never modded something in my life.
There's also DLSS support in a mod now, which isn't impossible to get working- in a card with plenty of overhead like the 4090, you might see some nice upscaling gains. You could see some extra pixels/frames. Would really pop with the Meta Quest 3 also being out now, too.
Hi! A video on the Wabbajack would be greatly appreciated. Tried a couple times a month ago and ended up installing mods one by one :/. It looks awesome, must be amazing with the headset.
Beardo: I didn't like his singing...launches upwards of 10 arrows in the singing dude's face 🤣 Me: Holy shite! Savage! Beardo: proceeds to explore/lock-pick into some lady's "chest".... Me: well, what have we here....new "chest" unlocking mod. Noice!
Wabbajack guide is a great a idea. I just recently started using the fus template but still am struggling to learn the controls. If you do this, please include a guide for all the controls since there's so many mods in play to tweak the controls. some of those finer details make picking up the feel much easier i'd say.

Awesome job, gonna have to make a build like this when I get a better Graphics card
230 mods!? You maniac! Eheheheh… it looks amazing! 👏 i need to try Skyrim VR still if it runs well I’ll probably mod it
I bet when Elder Scrolls 6 comes out this game will look even better than that thanks to all the mods
A modding guide would be great I wanna do it but I'm waiting for you now so no pressure. Keep up the good work
@Message_Beardo_benjo I would love too but I'm new to all this UA-cam commenting so not sure what you mean. make me a modding guide and we'll call it even 😉
Would love a modding tutorial for dummies as I have never done any before. Your visuals look stunning.
I love chilling in Skyrim VR
Benjo grabbed That spider. FIRMLY GRASP IT!
14:38 its indeed the "black face bug" ... no joke. It happens with some person overhaul mods.
Thanks!
Yes a tutorial would be awesome Also cover how to add the DLSS FSR mod too
Please!
God, I fucking wish. This is the first thing I would do with a suped up computer. I love Skyrim VR.
Love this! I've been looking at trying Skyrim VR. Though aiming to experience it with dark fantasy mods.
I play just below this and i get massive blocky blur, but when i stand still and it clears up, it's incredible
Good find thanks for showcasing it. I really want to check this out.. but some mods really hate updating or shuffling without a clean install and a new game. I'm always torn between keeping the hours in the current character, or upgrading the mods and stuff.
I hate seeing all these great mod packs but all only for wabajack great video tho love ur content
Skyrim VR is so good

Beardo: I didn't like his singing...launches upwards of 10 arrows in the singing dude's face 🤣
Me: Holy shite! Savage!
Beardo: proceeds to explore/lock-pick into some lady's "chest"....
Me: well, what have we here....new "chest" unlocking mod. Noice!
I would definitely love to play it like that. I am a Far Cry fan and this gives me some FC5 vibes.
This looks excellent. Septims is a realism mod. All roads lead to stealth archer.
Like the scenery buy you can make the npc's look a lot better, I use my 4090 with pico 4 and that's crazy good
What's your settings for Pico in terms of resolution for SteamVR?
Wabbajack guide is a great a idea. I just recently started using the fus template but still am struggling to learn the controls. If you do this, please include a guide for all the controls since there's so many mods in play to tweak the controls. some of those finer details make picking up the feel much easier i'd say.
yes this wabbajack pack i also got,and i did at alot more mods afterwards... its insane on the pimax 8kx on the rtx4090
be great for a tutorial, maybe 2 vids, one for rtx 4090 high end, and one for less powerful maybe a rtx 2080
That 4090 makes dreams come true
FSR Mod works with Skyrim VR + all enhance graphics Mods, and it helps a lot if you have a not so powerful GPU card, like mine.
