100%. I am from Eastern part of Ukraine and when I lived there Russians were never discriminated. It's not about ethnicity, it's about being either free or not.

@@cskvision They didn't come up with a term for such a thing in WW2, until after during the Nuremberg trials and the term "genocide" which I seem to recall is half Greek, half Latin. It's close, but extermination is not exactly the same as removing a group's ethnic identity or moving them out of a region (Trail of Tears).
You will never be Russians! Yes, they (the russian ethnic people) can live as an ethnic group in the free country of Ukraine, like other ethnic groups, like many ethnic groups live in different countries.

The Ukrainian people are related genetically to Russians and in a few other ways including language both written and spoken with minor differences, like the difference between USA and England's English. This makes them Russian-Ukraine, as I am Irish American, if Ireland wanted to invade the USA and they said we were Irish, they would be right. I am Irish but I am 100% American first.

Beautiful. How a person responds to how people behave, not the labels. She is clearly ashamed of her countrymen of birth (russians) and thankful to the brave men and women who have liberated her village, her neighbours and herself. The warmth shines through. The coldness, cruelty of the arrogant, inhuman orks is yet again in evidence.
Even if she was born in Russia,that doesn't mean she's a russian.Chances are she's a native Siberian .
The Russian Federation is made up of all the people that the Soviets and Imperial Russia overrun in the past. Calling her Siberian would probably be more correct than calling her Russian.

This is the typical culture of these people. The normal russian/ukranian are VERY hospitable. They will feed you, warm you up and make you feel welcome even when they dont have much of anything themselves.
A friend of mine went to Russia on a trip and he was invited to three strangers dinners who he hardly even knew. They treated him so warmly, he went back the year after and is still friends with these people.
Nothing wrong with the ordinary eastern europeans/russians!

She is from Ukraine..... She use specific Ukrainian words and when she use Russian words I heard Ukrainian accent. May be she was born in Siberia. But all of her life she lives in Ukraine.

In Stalin's era it was mostly either urbanization, or deportation people from West to East. My first bet would be, that she married a guy from Kherson area, serving in the army in her area. In general, everyone was serving far from home (for a case the army should be used against the civilians). Such marriages were not rare.
She moved there as her husband was serving there in the cold war and stayed
She might be trying to poison them. But then anyone could, everyone could be a collaborator. Ukrainian soldiers are not allowed to accept food from civilians for that exact reason.

And I personally know some Russians that are against Putin and this war. Some here in Canada , some I met when living in the UK, and one that had to escape Russia for its own security after protesting the war. They are all aware that Putin's Russia and brainwashed people are in the wrong.

@@Zultzify Slavic Siberians are not an ethnic group of their own. They are Russians. They were the ones who brought Russian statehood to Siberia. Indigenous Siberians are very different. They are more similar to Native Americans, rather then Slavs.
