Well done you two. Really enjoyed this video. Thank you so much for not doing another video of ripping Americans to shreds. Thank you for taking us on a tour of this lovely town.
The best town in the Cotswolds....love Burford...We have family there...
OK. For me... as a Texan who has never been to the uk or england... it looks like I would be in a dress walking around with a book... I would be Belle. I know it's a different country then beauty and the beast is set but in my mind it looks the same. I want people to burst out in song and I sing hello as I skip by lol
A lot of small towns in Europe give this vibe. Try looking up Annecy, Oingt, Gorde, etc., in France, Bruges in Belgium, Grenada, Spain, etc., I felt like a Disney princess walking down the canals and cobble stoned streets 😂 These small towns, but not all, are very charming indeed. Some are quite boring not gonna lie 🤭
OMG Joel and Lia! Your video brought back happy memories to me here in Australia. You walked past the Air BnB house in Witney St (next to The Angel pub) that I and a few friends shared for a week in 2017. My friends wanted the Cotswold experience without the eye-watering prices (hello Bourton😊) so I suggested Buford as I had been there before. It’s close to all the sights, including Oxford. Parts of that house are over 600 years old which is amazing. You’re right about practical shopping though. Just a small Co-op. So we ate at the pubs - the Mermaid and the Lamb Inn. We adopted the Mermaid as our boozer for the duration.
“We’ve worked up an appetite.” So what else is new? Haha! Beautiful little town. I just love the Cotswolds stone cuz the color is so warm. It gives these small towns such a safe and inviting vibe! Get thee to Oxford next!
I adore Burford! I’ve visited twice and stayed at the charming Bay Tree Hotel both times. Burford is usually our first stop when we leave the London airport. We drive straight out toward the Cotswolds and decompress in this lovely low-key British village.
I watched this video because you were in Burford. I visited there twice. Stayed once at the Lamb Inn and next at the Gateway. Both were lovely. Great food, great walking around the town and up that killer hill! Wish you could have followed that side street to the church with interesting cemetery. Also, going to the bridge and looking out over the river is sweet. Good photos there. Wonderful Pimms and lemonades at the Lamb Inn and Gateway! I'm from America and would love to live in England for a while.
Thanks for taking us along for the beautiful scenery.
What a beautiful village! A fun way to break up a long drive
I love living vicariously through you two lovelies while I'm stuck in Canada lol
I love the small shops and the small town atmosphere, it seems like a great place to live and enjoy a relaxing time. You don't always have to have a busy bustling place to enjoy exploring the small town, the food looks great as well. Fun video. Love the Architecture and the gardens.
Burford is lovely but it sure as hell isn't quiet. The density of traffic on such a tight high street is unbelievable
@@harrycantwell6252 I never used the word quiet, but regarding the traffic it certainly is less than a big city like ,London, New York, or Los Angeles.,a traffic jam will probably be hold you up not more than 15 minutes but in these other cities commutes can be 2 hours or more. Just to get from one point of the city to another.
@@beverlydust5381 no you're quite right but these towns arent as 'quaint' as they once were
@@harrycantwell6252 Unfortunately there are trade offs to a small town you still need to have enough business to stay open and and that usually means tourists part of the year. To support the time that they don't have tourists. City people wanting to escape to the country for a brief period of time. Is what keeps small town America alive. The rich with there second homes or the b and bs or the ones that are via apps on your computer or cellphone. The family farm is disappearing and so is small town America.
@@beverlydust5381 thats certainly true for the Cotswolds too. Unfortunately that comes at a cost to the town in the form of overtourism and of course the increased risk to events like covid.
If you're open to requests/suggestions, would love a video of Hampton Court Palace. ❤️
I enjoy seeing these little towns explored.
Greetings from NJ, USA. Have been catching up watching your older videos. I now have a much better appreciation of English pub food. Everything which you choose looks very delicious.! Looks like you were drinking sangría with your lunch? Great video. Thanks! From Elaine la profe.
I enjoyed every minute of this! Thank you for showing us a quaint small town. Makes my heart smile. 😊 Tons of love from Jean ❤❤
I was so hoping you would go to the Lamb, where I once had a lovely lunch with apple cider. Ah, memories!
I like the shorter video with just a taste of the little village. Obviously not for every video but it’s a fun way to get a glimpse into a place that I’ve never really even heard of before
The malt vinegar that was on the table at that pub is the exact same brand in that dark red bottle as the one my husband buys. He likes it on his fries and onion rings. He orders it on Amazon. I didn't realize it was a brand in the UK. That's a very pretty town. I love the buildings and all the little shops. It would be a great stop to have a walk around after a nice lunch. I really loved how it looked as you drove down that hill and you could see it ahead. Very quaint!
Looks like a beautiful, small town.
This is lovely! More English villages please!!!
Beautiful town, thanks!
Oh my goodness gracious it’s so cute!!!
That was a nice little quaint village and... Oh shiny penny LOL😂
I loved all the. Little shops very charming.❤️
Like comment and subscribe, Love you Joel and Lia
I love your old English buildings! So pretty.
Ours in the South is called fish sticks & you would always have it with Mac&cheese & of course it’s gotta be “the blue box” kind💙
Oh. Loved this. More more more. Thank you! Going thru those ally ways was so cool. I just imagine life happening 200-300 or 400 (?!) years ago there. So cool. Thank you for starting this channel!
My great great grandfather Nathaniel Cameron was married to a woman named Margaret Burford
I love the ally ways with the shops on either side. So so cool. I love all the history. I love the architecture. Amazing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I have heard, so many wonderful stories, from local people in small towns and villages. The vlog made me smile! 😃
Glad you enjoyed it!
I loved all the old buildings in Burford. Thank you for sharing
Fun! That pub looked chill and tasty!
Lovely little English village that we Americans adore. At night after all cars are gone, it’d be so nice and relaxing 😎
I totally agree!
Very nice. I love small villages.
You should have drove up through the Rissington to the airfield and turned right for burford it is much shorter and it has some lovely views over the hills.
Well done! I would have to say Joel & Lia that you are America's favorite two Brits. This places you ahead of Piers Morgan, Charlotte Church, and the Queen.
Joel and Lia are closing the popularity gap with Hagra biscuits!
@@mrav8r What are Hagra biscuits?
Hagra biscuits are blue colored food from the Hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy movie. Very British! 🇬🇧
Loved the look of the inside of the pub. Show us more pub decor! Love these village videos.
Such a lovely town! Instead of "shiny penny", we say, "squirrel"...lol!
I was thinking the same thing! They would need to know the back story to understand that one. 🐿
Oops, Lia almost pulled a Wendy's. Love the channel, glad you are back out filming again. Oh my, there's an orange Ford Ranger truck parked at the curb that's a twin to mine in the states.
haha she very nearly did!! Can't take her anywhere!
Picture perfect!
it's lovely isn't it!
Loved it guys.
That was a beautiful stop, that ally looked very Harry Potteresque! So love and miss a good pub lunvh
I love that you're back at it with this channel.
I loved the vibe of this blog, thanks Legends ❤️
Just stayed in Burford at the weekend!!!
I always enjoy your blogs, I'll be watching for your next video. I enjoy all the towns you visit
You two are amazing!! I am into culture training.. and all your channels really help me. Thank you so much for giving us so much positivity and edutainment 🤩 please visit India 🇮🇳 too would love to host you guys.
I think Witney street is called that because of the nearby town Witney
Very pretty place
What a lovely little town! So picturesque
Looks Beautiful there.
Have you guys tried Lacock village yet? Other than being famous for Harry Potter it is just beautiful and there is another village a couple miles away called Biddestone which is also very beautiful and quaint! X
That’s a great deal!!
I love the quaint shops. In the states the small town family owned shops are going out and the big "box" stores are taking over everywhere. It's a shame really.
reminds me going to cheltenham gold cup day driving through there
Hiya Joel and Lia, I really enjoyed this Vlog, I hope you come up to Lake district to Sunny Ambleside or sunny Keswick, I'm from Whitehaven, Cumbria, not far from western lake district
Wood Bros. Day Spa - Massage, skin care, mani/pedi, and grooming (waxing of ears, eyebrows, upper lip; and you can choose whether you want to do legs, chest, back, etc.), along with lunch. BUT, you can also bring your dog. While you are getting pampered, your pooch gets whisked away and treated to bath and brush, grooming, nails, etc. plus a gourmet doggie lunch. Perhaps have two separate dining areas. One where people can eat separate from the dogs, and one where people can choose to dine with their dogs. Something along those lines. And you can employ student interns so they complete their certifications for their schooling in the different spa related disciplines.
Loved seeing you again!
I LOVE it 😍♥️ Wish I could live there 😅 I’m American, can I just become a British citizen and move there? 😅
I love your travel videos! I can't wait to go to England!
You two are such property owners! Always looking at homes for ideas, and even garden shops.
I love these videos! I can’t wait to visit again!
Lovely job youtwo..
The food looks so delicious!
The town is so charming!
Love the new opening to your show. Well done both of you. ❤️
I loved it! What a lovely place. I just love this channel and I'm so glad you're back able to film.
These videos are great! Keep up the good work! Can't wait to see Cornwall!
I’m so LOVING THIS CHANNEL🥰AND yes houses & maps & food!! THE PERFECT CHANNEL!!♥️♥️
I enjoyed this so much! Those Two Brits has become one of my favorite channels. Thanks for bringing such lovely visits into my living room!
cmon Dorry
You guys upload so fast, that I almost forget.
Burford is a town
I'm so curious about the man standing behind you during the outro. He seemed very interested in what was going on!
He was the local we spoke to! He was lovely
@@ThoseTwoBritsUK So lovely that he shared interesting stories that provided some historical context to the area. It's those kinds of encounters that make travel meaningful and magical😊
We are visiting the UK in August...can you get here by bus or train? This is exactly the type of visit we would love to make!
Hi there is no train station in Burford. Easier to hire a car. You can rent one for a few days. From £50. That would give you the freedom to go anywhere.
Cab you do a video about the Olympics from the UK perspective!?
I go to burford big school
Love you two!! Wish you could live in America permanently and have lunch with me.
Beautiful place spoilt as they always are by cars.
If visiting Burford should take like 1h or 2, how much will it take to visit Bourton-on-the-water?
Lovely, but I’m with you an needing a bit more happening. And I’m older! 👵🏻 (
I've come to the conclusion Joel you don't like to drive.
Hatzakis doesn't sound like a British name
Your Burford is way better than Burford Ontario Canada! I bet your Scotland is way better than Scotland Ontario Canada where my ancestors started out…
Maybe one day we can do a direct comparison!!
The sights are so depressing
You actually like this
Why do Europeans, including the Brits, park any which way. You should park the same way your lane is. Today's rant by me.
