Not to be too dramatic, but you have greatly inspired me to pick up reading again and it has made me so happy!!! You helped me overcome many of my insecurities surrounding reading. I’ve always taken longer to read than the average or believed I was somehow doing it “wrong.” In the past month and a half I’ve finished 7 books! I thought that was impossible before finding your channel. I finally got into horror novels, due to your enthusiasm (…and even picked up “The Necrophiliac”…) You also opened my eyes to a great community! So thank you, thank you, thank you, Anda (also love your new haircut!)
This comment just made my day. Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm glad to hear you've found your love for reading again. Books really are magic. It doesn't matter if you finish 1 a year or 100, as long as you're enjoying yourself. Happy reading!

“Not in front of my salad” 😂
Hey Anda, there are 5 books within the Mark Renton series.
Skagboys
Trainspotting
Porno ( later releases are called T2 Trainspotting to tie in with the movie)
The Blade Artist (this is kind of a spin-off about Begbie, but it ties into the Dead Man's Trousers)
Dead Mans Trousers
Whilst this is my favourite series of books there are a lot of different series that take place inside the same universe with a lot of characters from Edinburgh and Leith crossing over into each other's books. Also whilst I can recommend all of Irvine Welsh's books I'd highly recommend Glue. Which is probably my favourite outside of the Renton books. Hope you're having a great day :)
You should start an interesting counter or something 😂
Drinking game 😂
you do not have to read Fires Of Eden to read A Winter Haunting...(I'm actually not sure why these four are in the same series)...A Winter's Haunting is a sequel/follow up to Summer Of Night...the other two don't have much (if anything) to do with the kids/events of 'S.O.N.' and can be read as stand alones
The prettiest creepy queen
We have pretty similar tastes, it seems. I remember before you said you weren't into fantasy, and you're also not into romance. I've always been a huge horror girl, even when I was like three years old. No hate to the other genres, they're just very difficult for me to enjoy for a number of reasons. I do like m/m or f/f romance if it's done well, but not as the main story. My main issue is that I typically hate how women are portrayed in m/f books, like they're just there to be someone's wife, girlfriend, or prize at the end, even when the woman is the main character. I do hope I find more things that change my mind on romance in general someday. Oh, but I do love monsters (as long as they're unusual and creative), so I guess we differ there, haha.
Very interesting, thanks.
Children of the Night sounds like one of my favorite vampire books, The Historian. It's a HUGE book rather than a series, but it has a lot of historical and scenic descriptions of Turkey. It also involves searching for a family member as well.
Looks like there's like 100 books called The Historian so it's the one by Elizabeth Kostova
I'm in the middle of Darcey Coates Where he can't find you. Absolutely LOVE her writing!
Can't wait to start the black winter series after this 😊
You should really check out Tess Gerritsen’s book The Bone Garden. It’s my favorite book of hers and it’s actually loosely connected to Rizzoli and Isles.
I must recommend The Yard series by Alex Grecian, it’s absolutely awesome 😎👍🏻
It’s a fantastic book
@@Reading975 The whole series is so Good 😎👍🏻
Wake up bae! Anda released a new video!
You don't say "interesting" that much. There's another BookTuber who says "really" about 50x per video, no joke.
Read any Grady Hendrix or Jason Pargin? Two of my fave authors!
Forgot last time, but I gotta say this hair color looks amazing on you! 👌
Right now I’m in the middle of rereading “The Cat Who…” series, and I’m also reading book 2 of “One of Us is Lying” and it’s just like being back in high school. I really don’t miss it. 😂 The books are good though.
Great video (as always!) but
still eagerly awaiting your judgement on the Lord Of The Rings trilogy and wondering how it will score on the "interesting-ometer"!
The Black Winter Series is already my favorite series of the year. I've been limiting it to one book per month to make the series last longer and will be reading the third book this month. I just don't want it to end!😍This series was my introduction to Darcy Coates as well
I still can't pick up the fourth! I got it last year and I'm just not ready to say goodbye to them 😂
@@AndaKent Totally get it! I feel the same way, but I also really want to know what happens!!
Have you read the necroscope series?
Would love for you to try a horror manga series! I still need to read hollow dead and I am working my way trough Alice in Borderland
The Black Winter series is one of my fave series on horror apocalypse I've ever read. It's a comfort read for me now. Im def a series gorl so this is my kind of video for sure!!
I read Voices in the Snow this year, and I loved it! This was my first book by Darcy Coates and it's already one of my highlights of the year. I'm already looking forward to the other volumes.
you should do an author retrospective about what made you fascinated about horror genre????
Great video. I also have the Black winter and Elm Haven series on my TBR. ☺️
I'm about to read skagboys. I'm also reading the hap and leonard series by Joe R. Lansdale.
I dont like that they dont publish more Darcy Coates in german... I mean my wallet is thankful for that fact, but still :D
I've read the first murder in the mix and the first gravekeeper book both because of your recommendations, just holding off on buying more because I already have too many books on my TBR. For other horror/thriller/murder mystery series, I read a Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson and I've got the other two books in the series lined up. Also T. Kingfisher's What Moves the Dead apparently has a sequel, which I didn't know when I read it so probably will read that eventually.
I had stopped watching and reading horror a long time ago, but I wanted to return to the genre, that's how I found your channel 😃 and now I have a long list of books I want to read 😂. The only horror book series I have started is the ring by Koji Suzuki
Summer of night is my all time favorite book. I agree with what you said about children if the night being dragged down by too much research. I felt that way while reading drood. He seemed to want to fit every single piece of his research into the book and you can feel it dragging from it.
You should do you top 5-10 or 15 favorite queer books for pride month
omg yes!
Yes
The black winter series starts with Voices in the Snow :D just to let you know. I think whisper in the mist is 3rd book I think :)
