Thanks!
My favourite thing about the CB650R is that excellent sounding inline 4. Those things are getting rarerer.
13:00 The sign for "No entry" (red ring on white BG) had another sign below it (which is generally used for tightening/relaxing the sign above) which said "Anlieger bis Baustelle frei" == "residents free until construction site".
But if you're foreign and/or can't read the additional signs it's a safe bet to just follow the instruction of the normal sign on top, in this case "No entry (for all vehicles)".
Anyway, nice that this is finally getting released, I saw the original episode a long while back and always wanted to watch the continuation.
Brilliant. Long overdue! I remember when you released the first episode I still hadn't passed my test and was considering a CB650R after passing which means it's got to be well over a couple of years ago. Your comments on the lack of comfort was one of the reasons I didn't buy one in the end. Still a lovely looking bike though and I've always fancied one as a second bike.
As an OCD completer/finisher can I just say how stressed out I was when you (for the reasons mentioned previously) could not continue with the uploads for this tour. I am now very happy and de-stressed that this is moving on again! looking forward to the next one Dan!
Love the sound of that inline 4!
Agreed- I wanted more fly-bys- many more!
Awesome! Great scenery and roads. I miss the CB!
I moved to Germany after a year's riding in .au.
It was disconcerting negotiating roundabouts the wrong way round, and Autobahns two up on a CB400N were challenging. But we lived.
I'm glad that you had such a great time.
You're right about the seat and knee bend - basically my only complaints with the bike. And the knee thing is more of a me thing. Younger riders probably won't notice.
If i’m allowed to ask, how tall are you? I’m doing my license soon and this is my absolute dream bike 😊
Excellent bike..thinking of getting one after r3
Oooh! I look forward to seeing you on one of these with the E-Clutch
Me too!
Ladestation = Ladystation 😭😂 Thats the reason i love hanging out with Foreigners or be the Foreigner in other countries, the new language usually unlock a certain kind of creativity in people
Thanks Dan, another great video. I note you're virtually identical dimensions to me, but seat heights never seem to bother you. How do you deal with stuff like the Africa Twin?
It's a great bike, did my test on one.
I went on my CB650R from Dartford to Germany, twice to the Mosel region - Cochem/Koblenz/ Nurburgring etc. Have to agree with everything you said. I'm 6'2" and after the second trip, I had to get a bigger bike, as it was exhausting getting there and back, but it is perfect for the roads when you get there.
Going back again in June on my NT1100, its not the most exciting bike, but at least I can get there in comfort!
Yeah I can only imagine what it was like for someone taller. Ouch! I hope you enjoy the trip on your NT1100, definitely more comfortable! Cheers! Dan
I'm loving this - I forgot how nice the Eifel region is. Might need to go and make some crossplane noise in that part of the world this year
Hell yeah!
What is your sound setup in conjunction with the hero ? Audio always sounds nice and clear
Hey really been enjoying your touring videos. Do you feel a big difference with the wind shield ? I'm hesitating between the CB and the CBR but I'm afraid that the ergo on the CBR can be tiring after longer rides
"Hello Ladies" - "Oh, that was a tight one"
44 Teeth vibes with this one Dan!
Thanks for sharing! This video has been on the waiting list for "a decade" now! Good to see you had a fun boys trip. You mentioned that the stock seat was not the most comfortable on long trips. How is the comfort for a pillion on the CB650R?
Not quite a decade! 😂 The Mrs hated being pillion on the 650.
Nothing like an English biker named Dan on a motorcycle going around Germany...
How was the trip? How is the sitting position feeling as the handlebars are more forward and lower?
13:40 oh mann i like that part😂😂
Hey Dan, will you be reviewing the NX500 from Honda? Thinking to chop my Strom in on one.
Yes, I have one coming in a week or so.
Ooh German sausage action 😂 ❤
Your mpg figures are imperial gallons?
what is the emotional excitement level when you compare this bike to all the other bikes you have riden? Is this bike on the top? I like the 2024 model and wanted your opinion.
That's too broad a question, and very subjective. It's a good bike in it's class.
0:17 "Some hardcore German ring action" according to the graffiti on the side of the track, lol...
Where's episode 1? I'm up to date with all your videos even gone back up to a year and still can't find episode 1. What am I missing bud?
3 years ago. Check his playlist for episode 1.
Check my tour playlist. 👍
@2:10 LOL! Uncouth hooligan detected! And then something, something, something about motorcycling through Germany. 😂
Public circumcisions 🤣😂
The screen looks great on the bike. If your vid had been more timely, I'd have got one. Too late! Bike sold for Hornet - not a looker like the 650
How did your friend find the SV650 for long range comfort and fuel consumption can you or him remember?
I'll ask Rob to chime in here.
I was getting about 120 miles on a tank. The standard seat (06 model) isn't great for touring and we were stopping after about an hour of riding, which was needed otherwise numb bum. Kinda expected - it's a naked after all. I fitted the Puig touring screen, which made the motorway bits a bit more bearable, but it did make the front end feel really light over 100mph 😂
Hit me up if you ever make it down to Switzerland. I'll show you round 👍
Thanks! One day we'll make it. 👍
What kind of bike is your friend riding?
According to the badge and the radiator grill at 20:02 it's a Suzuki SV 650.
2016 SV650.
The 2016 has the trellis frame. Must be older
Where is episode #1 Dan? Cool video though.
It's in my Touring playlist 👍
Talk about emasculating an SV650
Poor Rob!
Ooh German sausage action 😂 ❤
