    Hard work is not always a bad thing, but you could also just sign up for AAA - they’ll come and pick up the bike for you wherever you are and even give you a tow! With AAA you’ll never have to pick up your bike again.

    Gotta admire a tough lady. I'm a lot bigger than you, but at 44 years old with a history of back, hip, and shoulder injuries - I don't know if I would have outdone you. You're an inspiration - keep up the amazing work!

    I absolutely loved this one! You’re the most tenacious woman, which inspires me when I think I can’t do a thing.     I recommend a different approach:
    1. With the bike on the floor, twist the handlebars to full lock, so the handle on the ground is farthest away from the tank (the front wheel will point to the sky).
    2. Staying on the side you will lift from, stand facing the bike, with your crotch centered on the handlebar end and overall your body should be lined up with front wheel, legs shoulder width apart. This will help to ensure the bars will stay locked and not pull back towards the tank and help with your lift.
    3. Squat down and cup your hands under the handlebar end. Treat this like a deadlift, so squat position, hip hinged, back straight.
    4. Lift the bike and once it's upright, or close to upright, then step into the tank with your hip, to prevent it falling back to the ground again and now you can grab both sides of the bars.
    5. Put the kick stand out, depending on direction you might have to lean over the bike with your belly taking the weight and pull it out with your hands.
    6. Place the bike on its stand and then revel in how easy it was to lift, compared to the back squat method 😃
    The reason his method is much easier is that it maximises leverage by lifting from the handlebar end, at a point that is far away from the mass of the bike. You also are facing the bike and have control of the bars as soon as it is upright. They teach this method in off-road riding courses but I use it in every situation. Try it, use levers to your advantage 👍

      That's how I've always done it. Way easier, particularly on sloping ground.
      Now I'm in my 60s I don't bother, or risk injury. I made a jack with 3 short sections of threaded pipe and a ratchet strap.

    My jaw dropped at 12:09 when she lifted a car. Holy cow. This is why some directors still use practical effects. That whole sequence was slick. The wall-punch! The man-lift! I'd love to know how it was done.

    On the serious side, I noticed the front wheel rolling in your early videos and how you’ve added something to engage the brake lever when you’re on the kickstand side and how you hold the brake lever when on the opposite side. Great move!!! Very smart.
    This has been a very instructional, informative and enjoyable video. Great job!
    I’ll be 70 in a couple of months and struggle picking up my 2020 Road Glide Limited bike. I realize, from your video, my butt is too high into the seat and I’m lifting with my arms much more than I should be. Thanks. Hopefully, it’ll go better next time.

    I love following your channel and watching these videos. As a woman on a BIG motorcycle who's 5 foot NOTHING its super inspirational. (I ride a HD Street Bob 114 and I've never had to pick it up on my own my husband has always been there to help me) New fear and challenge unlocked. I Thank you! I was also big into fitness until I started getting into my passion for motorcycle riding and you've managed to combine the two of them and I'm ALL for it! Keep the awesome content coming!

    You and Jocelyn are such an inspiration. After things hit the fan a couple years ago, losing several family members and dealing with an incredibly stressful accident, my motivation to do much took a dive. I've been trying to get back to it as I was doing super well before. It's really encouraging to see these videos, and very motivational. So thank you so much for posting these.     You are outstanding! Your clear discussion of the process of lifting your bike and your progress in your challenge is good information for every rider. Good on you for taking the advice to moderate your lifting - believe me, you want to protect your knees, hips and back or you'll wind up like me when you get older - creaky and grumpy with bad knees and hips. Keep making these great videos!

    You are an inspiration! Like you I have a large adventure bike, an Africa Twin. But to date, I've never picked it up, even in practice. I really appreciate your transparency.     Good on you for your determination and patience with working on this. I at 66 don’t have the motorcycle I dream of to be able to work on this and knowing I will have to lift it sometime, will do my best to attempt to make sure I use the right technique once able. Keep up with your enjoyment of motorcycling and keep challenging yourself. Slightly envious of your time in the seat.

    Try a tip I saw on another channel........use a velcro strip to hold the brake lever in locked position. A locked front brake will make the lift easier........ keep a strip in your bike tool kit.

    Hey DOM! Ensure the bike is in gear , lower the reps and add in an extra set. Do some plain squats to burn the acid building in your muscles. Awesome content ! Take care of yourself especially those knees...foam beard was cool.

    Hey this is the first time to leave a comment ever. . I have been watching your videos for a while. I started riding when I was 10 years old. I say that because almost everybody said I couldn’t because I have a handicap. I have a crippled right arm. I love to prove anyone that says that wrong.
    Good job on perfecting the motorcycle lift.
    Just remember my workout mantra. (Pain is nothing but weakness leaving the body)

      My dad was the one that told me I would never be able to ride a motorcycle, for the same reason. I bought my first motorcycle at 14 an proved him wrong. That was 1992. 30 years later I am still riding. If you haven't found her yet, MostDefJeff also rides with one hand an posts videos about it. She is missing her left hand.

    Inspirational. Props to you! Loved the transformation into Wonder Woman - genuine LOL and big smiles. Take care of those knees - as a 62 y/o with 2 partial knee replacements (still riding, hiking, MTB and working out) I've learned that being too hard on your knees through athletics can show up later in life. Props again to you!

    I found your channel through Jen & Jon at Hightail Hair, and have really enjoyed your content. I have to admit, I've NEVER actually thought to "train" for picking up the bike, but it's a great idea. The first time I ever had to do it was when my tires washed out on slick off-camber concrete accompanied by a big twist of throttle and a surge of adrenaline. The bike felt like it weighed nothing.
    The second time I did it was after a low speed uneventful tip over in a Texas hill country bar ditch and MAN was that bike heavy without the adrenaline.

    I just love that motivational intro. You decided what you wanted and attacked the lacking areas with a combo of strength maxing _and_ technique. No need to brute force your way to getting a bike up when you can be smart about it. If this mentality transfers to other areas, there's no stopping a human.

    Great video !! Been a subscriber for a while now and always enjoy your point of view and humor😁 As an athletic trainer of 26 years, I would say the repetitive locking out of your knees did you in and caused the pain. Be careful with that, it can cause meniscal tears and damage over time. Ride safe

    Congrats! You are indeed a Wonder Woman & wonderful person! Glad you have info to help your knees (been there)--those exercises will help a lot to support them while the heavy lifting is via quads & glutes! (And keeping knees behind the ankles and how you point your feet can really help or hurt, too. The PT will help find what is ideal for your knees!).

    I admire your tenacity. I dropped my Heritage twice in over 5 years of owning it. I recently traded it for a Street Glide and your efforts have encouraged me to practice this maneuver in case I ever need it. Problem is, I've been a trucker for years and it's taken a toll on my muscles with the lack of actual exercise. I have GOT to get in better shape. Thanks for sharing this video.

      I'm 62 and recently got a 2000 Heritage, I dropped it turning around on a gravel and while I struggled a little lifting it, I was able.
      This prompted me to install saddlebag bars and drop guards.
      Since then I have dropped it 4 or 5 times while practicing slow speed maneuvering. No damage to the bike and the saddlebag bars give me a really good place to hold when lifting it. And my slow speed handling has improved greatly. U turns don't make me nervous anymore.
      Coming from riding a 72 sportster for years, I was surprised that I needed to practice my technique as much as I did to handle the heavier bike at slow speed.

    I have just recently stumbled on your videos and you are a real inspiration! I am about to pick up my Tiger 900 GT Pro, I had been researching a GT Low for over a year now, only to find Australia no longer sells them 😢 I have been worried about the GT PRO being too big for me, but after watching your channel, now I know it’s the right size for me, and I am looking forward to learning how to ride it. BTW… how tall did you say you are? I have watched from 3:55 a dozen times and can’t quite catch it (it may be just my metric brain doesn’t comprehend) Keep up the amazing work.     Holy crap! About a year ago, no 2 I forget …I was looking into getting back into riding. I was thinking about a Triumph Tiger, but the smaller one. I took the MSF course even though I technically still had my license and I STRUGGLED with the Suzuki GW250. Then spent a year training and just a few days ago I rode the Triumph Speed Cup 900 ‘17. Such a difference. However, I’m just talking riding and trying to push it around. I’ve never had to pick up a bike …Thank you so much for sharing this! It gives me hope. I’m not sure I would use your exact “training method” 😊 but I’m totally going to try to find a safe way to do this when I finally get a bike.

    You're just a legend! Very well done on it. Was waiting for the full video forever after you posted you're gonna do it and I saw some shorts as well. Its only easier from here I guess as you keep gaining more and more strength and muscle.
    I sometimes struggle lifting my bike up as well but have been slowly gaining strength and its getting easier.
    Also, just one minor thing which your coaches may have already pointed out. Locking the knee (180 degrees) at the very top of you lifting the bike could have been another thing that hurt your knees. When doing strenuous lifts like these, at the very end too, I believe your knees should be very slightly bent. Locking a joint like that could be an invitation to injury.

    Because of you I've challenged myself to do the uturn challenge.
    As for this I'm scared of putting my girl down like that but I definitely wanna practice then for when it does drop

    I love that you're not letting the negative comments affect you. You do you. You know what's best for you. Everyone's tossing out negative comments because they lack faith in themselves, and they only feel better by bringing others down to their level of depression. Never let that mentality win.

    I have so many comments on this video and what you did, but I will limit to a few. 😊 I did think your initial goal was over the top. Glad you found a way to get through it.
    I laughed out loud three times. The bubble bath beard, the change in which motorcycle you were lifting, and the conversion to wonder woman.
    One thing I wish you had done or would show if you did it would be quality photos of your quadriceps before and after. Probably your traps, too. I bet they look different.

    GREAT work! I have a '16 Tiger 800 XCa and I even struggle to get it up on the center stand, let alone up from the ground! I'm considering trading to a Kaw 300X for several reasons, not the least is picking the bike up from flat on the ground (your tires helped you a LOT, I'm tall and can't get a lot of lift if the bike is totally on the ground)
    Keep it nice on your knees (and other joints), things only get more fragile when you get older (I'm >60)

    Awesome. Well done. Loved the Wonder Woman scenes, made me laugh and it's awesome that you put a Theme. Now I'd say it's time for you to go to Comicon. The best part is that you proved to yourself that you can do it. I know the apprehension of being out alone and dropping your bike. This challenge definitely gives you and others more confidence.     How timely. I am soooo sore from trying to lift my bike yesterday. Thank God someone came along after the second drop, because I had nothing left to give.
    You are quite an inspiration.
    Now I just need to get some energy to clean all this mud off 😅
