Wow great video. I ended up using this to control the speed and rate of growth on a procedural fungus animation. Thanks!

That’s awesome. If it’s posted somewhere I’d love to see it.

for some reason the channel sop wasnt working for me, but if you pull up either of the channel sop examples using Help > Example files you'll see you need to create a geometry node to pull the attribute that you're working on from the sop node, then a math node to add the audio to the attribute you've imported

ok, nice! cool tutorial... BUT! BUT!.... If I want moved, inside the chops, the audio spectrum/track from frame 1 to 1001 how can I do?
The shift and Time shift doesn't works like the TimeShift Sops... ?????

Hi, I wanted to use your setup to instead of moving points along an axis, use the audio spectrum to drive the time offset of a bullet sim's points.
Do you have any idea on how to maybe control the shape of a chramp with the spectrum (in the other setup, the time offest is controlled by a chramp)?
Or any other method to control the time offset?
I made a post in the reddit forum, file included. Failing to combine the two setups.I you have the time and energy to take a look at it ..
Post title: How to use spectrum chop amplitude to drive time offset of RBD sim pieces?

Hi, it's interesting, I started a lot of my CHOPs exploration wanting to drive time offsets, but my explorations have taken me different directions, seems like I should loop back. It's a bit more complicated of an explanation, but I'll try the short version here, and will at some point do a proper video about it. I also searched for your reddit post, but couldn't find it. If you @ me on twitter with the link I'm happy to take a look.
To drive a timeshift sop you'll want one channel or curve that represents your timing. I do this a lot in Touchdesigner with audio. It takes two channels, the first is a linear representation of time, you could make a channel chop and set the value to $T or $T*.5, anything you want. Then the second channel would not be an audio spectrum, but rather take your audio file, feed that into an envelope, then feed that into a count chop. In the count chop dial in the trigger amount so that at each audio hit you get basically a stair stepped curve. Now you can use a filter chop to smooth out the steps, but still have an increasing curve. Then finally you use a math chop to either multiply or add those channels together. Finally feed the resulting channel directly into your timeshift sop. Hope that makes sense. Again, as I have a chance I'll do a proper demo of how to set this up, but if you're familiar with chops you should be able to get there. I've already covered the count chop in another video if you haven't already seen that. Thanks for the comment!

@@WhatIFound I thought I had added my reply here, I guess I didn't click enter..
Nice to hear you tarted out having similar goals in mind, maybe it might re-ignite your original interest.
I will try to implement what you wrote in your answer here, though I am not sure if I am able to do so.
      Thank you though.
I replied to your post on Twitter adding the link too..
Tbh this has been my first dip into chop ever, specifically because I wanted to achieve this - time offsetting based on the spectrum's amplitude - but I will check out your other videos too, your most recent upload looks interesting as well.
      Thanks for making these tutorials.

@@WhatIFound Great. with your hint i managed to replicate the time remap setup . Really cool. thanks. there isnt so much information online on chop net :) 🙌🙌🙌
