The WR Calvin Ridley at 2:27 is going to be a beast for the Tide over the next few years. Mark it down I think he'll be a top 5 receiver come draft day.
Can tell these DBS are young they get there cushion broken.... shooting with 2 hands in press causing there feet to get stuck.. panicking when ball is in the air... they'll all learn and are on right track
Man being a DB is simple, if a receiver is steaming you stem with them and break with them, stemming with them makes them have no leverage, if their lined up outside the numbers their coming in, or they can stick in and come back out, inside the numbers their coming in, a stem will let you know what their doing because their creating space for the route, so if their stemming outside their creating space to come back inside same in reverse its so simple, so simple. But guys don't think about that on the field which makes you a wayyyy better DB when you can think and be a athlete. That's why its student before athlete. If you can be a student on the field your athleticism will come in right behind in, your intelligence will set your athletic ability up for you to showcase your skill.
Also there not being physical enough, in the nfl there's alot of contact between db's and wr's , Hold the wr a little and CHALLENGE the refs and see how much you can get away with
bryant wallace I play DB in high school and I just wanted to say that it really isn't that simple. Sure being smart on the field helps but honestly, the receiver has every advantage in a 1 on 1 situation, considering he knows exactly what he's running and can make any moves to get there. The DB is almost always going to be one step behind, while running sideways or backwards as well. It takes a lot more than "being a student" it takes a quick mind, and even quicker feet.
DB's .... more like shadows. I know it's a hard position (I've played CB and love it.) Many of these kids need to react more naturally, and break off the ball. They keep getting stacked, or falling for the first moves.
he didnt fall for the jab step out expecting it to be a post which it was but if it had a post corner he would have gotten beat bad so he was lucky he guessed right
5 years later: Victor, Grimes, Surtain, Ridley, Wilson, Jeudy, Hammond, Samuels, Mullen, even Eubanks, Singletary running WR, Metellus, all making it big now
Of course the WR's are going to look good , the WR's are lining up just right of the hash and the qb is in the center. When the wr Is that close to the qb he's going to have the advantage. Wr Try lining up 10 yards over and have the qb scoot back 5 yds than lets see what happens
Get your head around on breaks, have a clean release off the line, strong hands, don't take too long to break down, take what the db gives you and be aggressive (don't be afraid to go up and get the ball)
Jake Small Lmao you truly are missing a few chromosomes. Why don't you take a look at when the comment was, August 6th. Now when did your coaching changes occur? Weeks after August 6th. On the date of my comment, miami already had 9 decommitments in their 2016 class.. You're surely making your school not look like a top-40 institution if an imbecile like yourself attended it. Go back to grade school and learn how to read. I also advise you learn a thing or two about recruiting before you begin to speak to your superiors. Now continue shining MY shoes you fucking pleb, I want to look good on my way to your girlfriend's house.
***** Hah! That's a good one, it took me back to those 5th grade insults. Ladies & Gents, here we have someone who can't sustain an argument, so they can only result to simpleton name calling. The least you can do is put forth some sort of a claim in your favor, this just isn't merely challenging. At least the guy before you brought up some points, however invalid and incorrect they were.
Jake Small LMAO when you fail to make any sustainable points in an argument so you go on a rant with absolutely no substance. Jesus christ that was funny though
I know that shit I'm was a varsity receiver my freshman year and I still am. But most of these guys are doing so much that the qb has to wait for ever to throw the ball and some of them aren't even running correct routes.
Good video!! It will be interesting to see how the season plays out! Also, remember to order your Playmaker Football Towels. Visit our website....Playmaker Football Towels. Part of proceeds go to help various charities.
these guys are fast but why are they tap dancing at the line like this? this is why we never hear about Florida guys as much anymore. Some of the WR get offs are tragic. *Edit* had to cut it off the DB's are even worse. No technique ...just thinking their speed will do the job...who are the coaches?
Julian Hicks faster...yes..technique nope..and I went right into juco with never playing... Facts : I'm an athlete. Facts: you're an internet clown. Why wouldn't you want these young men to get technique? Another idiot looking for +1s
Why does every receiver have to try to look so flashy and cocky when they are coming off the line? Like why can't they just come off the line and run the route without adding all the extra irrelevant movement? I good receiver should run the correct route, catch the pass, and get up field and get as many yards as possible. And most of all be humble about being a receiver because they don't have to be.
London Williams Its to fake the DB, If you run straight they will be able to jam you and read the route. As a WR if you can fake the DB and get around the DB you win.
Irrelevant movement? Lmao that helps them to get open. Trying to get the corner to flip his hips a certain way so he can't cover as well. Also, keep in mind that these are high school kids. Do you expect them to run NFL caliber routes? Some of these kids are sophomores and juniors
London Williams either you know very little about WR vsCB or are just plain bad. it is done to throw the defender off. if you just come off right into your route, chances are the CB is gonna be on you like glue. not a good thing.
Fr tho like I'm a really good receiver (not trying to be cocky) I was like let me try corner and crap it's hard you need a special talent to be successful at that position !!!
This was the Saddest football I've ever seen These DBs have no technique most of them were fast But speed doesn't make you a Good DB, Technique Does, that's where they all fall short, now don't get me wrong some of them did have some good plays but the next play they would get beat, It's sad man they don't work on Technique anymore just speed, I wasn't the fastest DB but man I have the best Technique it isn't even funny I know what route the Wr is going to Run before the play even starts, that's what you're supposed to do, and no I'm not a internent Clown I had D1 offers from all over the world Oregon, Lsu, Alabama, Fau, Fsu, You name it. But that's besides the point they need to work on Technique instead of Speed, and for anybody That's gonna try to Bash my comment Please have a reasonable Comeback not some dumb responses thanks :)
most CBs are smaller than the WR. It helps to get under them but if the WR is as strong or even stronger, he will push the CB off while taking off with force... instant loss for the CB. it all depends i suppose. i play CB (6'3 and aggressive as i can be) and love to jam at the line as well.
Yea at my school we have a lot of small wide recievers. And out coaches make us jam when we play man to man(Im a CB btw) but yet, our coaches always tell us to jame unless were in cover 3 or 4
Haha I was wondering that to I'm 5'4 and I jam guys 5'7-6'1 lol it all depends on how you get a feel for the wr if I know he's faster than me I'll back up 4 yards and play a little catch but I'll usually press and jam at the line
2:40 This man had 99 press LOL
+Pwnya145 IKR with press like there is no route to run
+Pwnya145 Not only that but he is siciplinced in that position and shadowed the wr
That WR was asking for it not getting skinny and exposing his whole body to the CB
Cavin Ridley...... Holy shit I thought they meant calvin Ridley
Me too lol
2:25 jalen faulk 204 isn't there to make friends
Binjimin Victor, very impressive.
The WR Calvin Ridley at 2:27 is going to be a beast for the Tide over the next few years. Mark it down I think he'll be a top 5 receiver come draft day.
that's not calvin ridley. that's his brother cavin
and he's going to either georgia or south carolina even though he's committed to georgia. he might switch up though.
+Dareal Durk2k My mistake, didn't know he had a brother, I thought it was a typo. I stand by my statement about him though.
+Revival yeah that man's a beast
He still has Bama as an option

+Ozy Mandis What does that have to do with it still being a corny name you fucking doofus?
+Floyd steel I don't see how the name Ariel is anything bad. Floyd really sound like a gay stripper.
Sam Bruce is really fast and has speed that makes him a great wide out
Can tell these DBS are young they get there cushion broken.... shooting with 2 hands in press causing there feet to get stuck.. panicking when ball is in the air... they'll all learn and are on right track
Welcome to the U Sam Bruce and Dionte Mullins!

These DB's are jokes, bend your knees and keep your eyes on there hips.
Funnel them towards the outside... Simple!!
Also there not being physical enough, in the nfl there's alot of contact between db's and wr's ,
Hold the wr a little and CHALLENGE the refs and see how much you can get away with
Scott Matthews Where did you play at, Scott?
bryant wallace I play DB in high school and I just wanted to say that it really isn't that simple. +bryant wallace Actually, it's better not to think, but to react.
DB's .... more like shadows. I know it's a hard position (I've played CB and love it.) Many of these kids need to react more naturally, and break off the ball. They keep getting stacked, or falling for the first moves.
Emmanuel green with the denzel curry bandana I like it
That db at 3:40 is smart
he didnt fall for the jab step out expecting it to be a post which it was but if it had a post corner he would have gotten beat bad so he was lucky he guessed right

5 years later:

Of course a blades gets an int
who the qb?
Of course the WR's are going to look good , the WR's are lining up just right of the hash and the qb is in the center.
When the wr Is that close to the qb he's going to have the advantage. Wr Try lining up 10 yards over and have the qb scoot back 5 yds than lets see what happens
Its Riley Ridley instead of calvin
Binjimin Victor the best wr here hands down... Got skinny on dude ass right out the gate
Dredrick Snelson is a great player but did not show that he was 11th nationally ranked player.
MyBathrooomIsPurple hes sayn that in the video he didnt play like he is 11th nationally ranked

Get your head around on breaks, have a clean release off the line, strong hands, don't take too long to break down, take what the db gives you and be aggressive (don't be afraid to go up and get the ball)

no shit the DB's are getting beat, the moment the receiver makes a cut the DB looks at the QB and looses his receiver
At 7:16, the DB just got lazy and the WR caught it easily
I don't see Dade just broward kids. Maybe a few from central. But all broward and they sing touching touching Dade schools. Booker t. Alum
I know that shit I'm was a varsity receiver my freshman year and I still am. But most of these guys are doing so much that the qb has to wait for ever to throw the ball and some of them aren't even running correct routes.
What school do you play for?
London Williams Yeah in a real game QB is sacked half of those snaps.
What school
Seriously though, London. Enough about the video. I want to know where you play so I can see your highlights
PhillyPhan This is not a real game and this drill is for WR's and DB's not the QB.
I wanna see these guys go against collage or NFL dB cuz sometimes they make it look too easy lol 😂 that's jus me btw
These DB's like 5'3 120, I'm starting to think you can just sign up and they'll let you in
Look at 6:32 that's a catch
Gets so frustrated when no DB is using there hands and lining up in press...
what's the instrumental called playing in the background?
Let me get up in this😂

Shut up
Kevin Cassie exactly..probably another stupid kid who just thinks it looks cool to do whatever you want.
Rio Rogers lol . I'm a new corner I'm just trying to get fundamentals down and not make bad habits.
These DBs and Receivers are better than you were or ever will be. Just facts, sorry.
Julian Hicks faster...yes..technique nope..and I went right into juco with never playing...
Facts : I'm an athlete.

Fr tho like I'm a really good receiver (not trying to be cocky) I was like let me try corner and crap it's hard you need a special talent to be successful at that position !!!
+Brandon Cisneros yeah my man. It's literally a technical work of art. A lost art
Highly doubt you could do better
ZeroTolerance I'm not going to bash your comment. I just want to know which school you chose to play at with all those offers.
ZeroTolerance FAU? that school is trash. every other school is great what about UF? WHats your name to see if you actually played though
so you just aren't gonna answer my question? you had no problem bragging but when I ask what school you chose, you disappeared.
"All around the world" bro those are just the United States lmao maybe go back to school
Teach me
The qb sucks just as much lol lemme put my pads on and throw some lol
lol
these DB's getting so close to the WR but they not jamming??
The db's never heard of pass interference
What u mean
These corners need better technique
When they're playing man to man, why ain't he DB's tryna jam them at the line ? Ahaha.
Marquis Johnson because you dont always do that. not always is it the smart thing to do.
Candida Correa Lol yea. But most of the time it is. Try to mess up their route ya know.
most CBs are smaller than the WR. It helps to get under them but if the WR is as strong or even stronger, he will push the CB off while taking off with force... instant loss for the CB. it all depends i suppose. i play CB (6'3 and aggressive as i can be) and love to jam at the line as well.

trash CBs smh!!
none of these WR are good the stupid gloves make 75% of the play
josh made all American
You don't need them. Your allowed to.
I can cover better than all them dbs
Show me your tape or stfu.
Jony Yoft You ain't shit, Jony.
+Julian Hicks haha, tell him!

+victor nguyen yes and their terrible they get burnt everytime
+Rodney Robinson true, but this is just something like spring practice tho
+victor nguyen I know all that all im saying is that they really need to work on their man to man coverage
+Rodney Robinson ture dat lol
2:40 what even was that ? Like ur the worst db,with tht u will never make it to the nfl
wat are u talking about that was a great play and completely legal and great technique he was prob one of the best db out there
Welcome to the U Sam Bruce and Dionte Mullins!
And Cedrick Wright
Can't forget Trajan Bandy
