Football QB'Z the Dbs need to watch the ball it go's like this back pedal turn around Chase the wr but watch the qbs eyes and body movements and you will no were the wr is
that's a bad way to train because the qb can look you off your assignment and cause you to be out of position. It's man to man coverage, they need to guard their man, and when he looks for the ball, they look for the ball.
From a DB standpoint in press I see a lot of soft shoe technique which means inching back at the line giving ground which is a popular technique by most examples Brent Grimes, Chris Harris Jr. Only problem is with that you sometimes get on your heels and lose balance. On the flipside of that I see a lot of lunging and wide feet at the line of scrimmage and the Wide Receiver is able to get by and stack the DB in the route which you don't want. I am all for getting hand on the WR but with the caliber athletes you see on Sundays and Saturdays you will not be able to do that every time in press. Step kick is another popular press technique especially for longer DB's example Richard Sherman. He plays inside shade or head up and first step is lateral to take away fade and get a read where the WR is going. Than uses one or two hand jam to disrupt the wr timing. Just another technique you can add in the tool box if your a young DB
Because most of the time the receiver fixes they’re hands like 1.5 seconds before the ball actually hits there hands so the DB don’t have time to even look back
Al Blades jumped off my youtube screen. Recievers in situations kind of can have their way with any DB, its open field, no safety, no OLB. But you can really see whos going to be a top DB. Al Blades is that.
The last 1:00 was mostly The Crib athletes doing their thang!!!! Elijah Moore, Mark Pope, Al Blades Jr, Xavier Williams, Asanti Samuel, and Patrick Surtain II...
K. dot In this video it isn't that far but with pads on, Amon-Ra is definitely a lot better than any other receiver out there. I don't care what rankings say.
A lot of great athletes technique is lacking from the DB's and Wr's. Alot DB's are not comfortable in playing off coverage and that's a problem. Their press technique lacks purpose opening the gate early need to stay square as long as possible. Some of these routes may not be 100% realistic but the caliber of athlete they will see at the next level is so still good work for the DB. For these being the best recruits in high school three, four and five stars they are not perfect by any means. A lot of them just have the measurables college scouts are looking for height, weight etc.
I know this is a old Comment but on this level u can’t really overcommit to jamming you will get beat by theses high 4.3 low 4.4 guys they’ve already seen it and know how to beat it
I remember watching this in elementary school. Now I'm in my first year of university and this video still amazes me. This video is a great example of what to do and what not to do. Young wrs and dbs should study this film to help get better
When we would do 1 on 1's for my high-school varsity practices, the WR's had to do realistic, quick game routes, like slants, curls, outs, posts, etc. No fancy stuff.
1 on 1s always favor the receiver. Especially when these routes arent in the tree. These receivers are running the "just get open playbook". Much easier for a WR in this environment.
No hating at all . I played football my whole life and I'll be the first to admit most people's "hands" wouldn't be what they are without them gloves . Tell all db's and WR's take off them gloves and reveal them true hands once them bullet passes get thrown
best DB I saw in this video: Al Blades Jr. Best WR(s): 1. Elijah Moore 1a. Amon-ra St. Brown. I know recruiting rankings say otherwise, but this is what MY eyes saw from this video.
Tim Lettiero Marshall is the #1 ranked WR in Louisiana and he's a sophomore. Looked a little shook here but I've seen him play in person and I know he's got crazy talent
Tim Lettiero haha yea shook wasn't really the right word, mainly looked like he was trying too hard on his releases, but watching again you can tell he did every move with purpose
Brandon Perez You have to be a top high school football player prospect. ALL of the guys you are seeing in this video are 3,4,or 5 star recruits coming out of high school who've already committed to a college football program. You'll get invited to them in your mail box or on the internet from the Nike football program or whatever. It's your choice whether to go to them or not. Al Blades for example was a 5 star recruit and he's now a starting sophomore for the Miami Hurricanes. Btw this program doesn't just invite CB's and WR's in case you were wondering. It invites running backs, linebackers, offensive linemen, defensive linemen, and more.
As a corner, the hardest routes to guard are comebacks and curls, you can see in this vid that you get beat on them every time if you are feeling out the route. It’s important for corners to have contact with the receiver during most of the route (not pushing, just a hand or a forearm) to feel out the route. The corners that were physical almost always stopped the curls and comebacks. ITS VERY IMPORTANT FOR CORNERS TO LEARN THIS
#5 could be an extremely good receiver at the Division 1 college level. He has very good ball skills, but his best attribute is his tremendous speed out of his break. Being able to accelerate and maintain an extremely high speed out of your break is the kind of skill/ability that can take you all the way to the NFL. Keep developing and he can be a very high quality receiver one day.
I know QBs get a lot of respect for the difficulty of their position, and I know lineman are battling like crazy, BUT being a DB just seems crazy hard to me...speed, IQ, quickness, athleticism...crazy!
Dang bro A lot of these guys in this video got drafted this year. Hope to see Justin Shorter get drafted next year. The Talent in this video is crazy bro
Tony Gr I could state what I saw, which was him only really getting beat once by probably the best wr there amon, or I could just say that's why he got the "alpha dog" tag right?
u guys also keep in mind that in freestyle like this it favors the WR playing Corner is more mental than anything....theres no play recognition,no route tree, no pass rush, etc. anyone can get opening just running around
These are always cool to look back on... lets find some guys who have made it even bigger in three years: Amon-Ra St. Brown, Josh Proctor, Anthony Schwartz, Bookie Radley-Hiles, Burney before he converted to LB, Justin Shorter, Kyle Pitts, Rondale Moore, Terrace Marshall Jr, Caden Sterns, Ja'Marr Chase, Surtain II, Samuel Jr, Brevin Jordan,
YOU GUYS DONT KNOW HOW DIFFICULT IT IS TO PLAY CB
Poetiks It is... Hardest position on the field dude.
i hate playing corner , strong safety is where it’s at
Its the most complete position in Football , but no body cares about that shit , greetings from mexico
Ya I do!!
Even more so during 1 on 1 drills with no help and I played WR, CB and FS. CB was the toughest of them all, especially MENTALLY!!
A DB playing perfect coverage is more impressive then a WR making a catch
Yeah Al Blades impressed me. He’s playing amazing defense on the last two plays of the video
Nah imma dB but I still think it more impressive for a wide receiver to run a perfect route and make a catch
A catch yes a route no
Tru
J.R. !?!?!? True but not as fun to watch.
It's harder to play DB in 1v1 drills like this. The combination of routes the receiver has to hard for ONE DB to cover.
Football QB'Z not just that but the receivers chose their route and can change at will in these drills.
Football QB'Z the Dbs need to watch the ball it go's like this back pedal turn around Chase the wr but watch the qbs eyes and body movements and you will no were the wr is
that's a bad way to train because the qb can look you off your assignment and cause you to be out of position. It's man to man coverage, they need to guard their man, and when he looks for the ball, they look for the ball.
therealaltaego I'm thinking of zone covers
Football QB'Z slow feet don't eat
Bro, its so crazy watching this again in 2022. A good amount of these players are stars in the League right now!
It is! Amon-Ra, Pitts, Chase
Justin shorter, bills.
Ellijah Moore, browns.
Facts they were 17 when this vid came out 😂
Amon St brown ain't even fair his route running is crazy and he is physical when the ball comes.
Yea him Moore and Shorter are monsters
And his hands
Any relation to Equinameous? Both have unusual first names so the thought popped into my mind.
They’re brothers
@@aidanformvp1902 That's what I thought. Both super talented dudes.
Wide receivers doing too much in this drill. Most of these routes are not going to work at all in a real game.
99 Problems You actually have no clue what your saying lol.
99 Problems the QB's are on a 4 second timer. If they get open they'll work 100% of the time.
to much waisted movement. there is no procise route running.
Zack Zachary wasted, precise
I play college football an you obviously don't know what your talking bout 😂 1 on 1's are supposed to be crazy. They still suck though
It's cool to look back 3 years later and see a lot of these guys making the NFL. I'm excited to see Jaycee Horn and Elijah Moore play this year
Kyle pitts to

mtfford1 great observations
mtfford1 good sruff too bad im a defensive end lol
Bro this was 🔥🔥🔥🔥 u should make reaction videos but instead go in depth of what was wrong with technique, footwork etc.
Duce$ there's already a guy who does that, search up "Mark Parson" on youtube he does just what you said rn and used to be an NFL cornerback
Said Hussein l
elijah moore and amon ra st brown🔥
I'd say moore is the better route runner and st. brown is the home run hitter
K. dot did you see Elijah footwork
Amon Ra St. Brown .. the german wr hope, together with his bros
Moore , Brown, and Shorter top 3 imo
bookie couldn't keep up with amon-ra
Al Blades Jr was the only one
That could consecutively be a great cornerback.
his dad and one of his uncles both played DB in the league. he also had an uncle play WR in the league so its in his blood!
Clearly not, now look at y'all LOL.
Na kelvin Joseph
NOLA ur a nobody
Well Surtain, Horn & Samuel will all be drafted wayyyyy ahead of him. If he even gets drafted
What's with these DB's not looking to see where the ball is once they notice the receiver is fixing his hands for the catch?
The1YouLove2Hate cause all they’re trying to do is push and knock people over after getting burnt
The1YouLove2Hate sum db coaches teach to put your hand where there’s are to rip the pass especially if they are faster then you are
Because most of the time the receiver fixes they’re hands like 1.5 seconds before the ball actually hits there hands so the DB don’t have time to even look back
The1YouLove2Hate you’d know if you played DB
AndrewS their not they‘re...
Elijah Moore got them routes 🔥
Nba Young boy so does amon
Was trying to take a eyelash off my screen for a good 7 minutes
@@sheldongourick3719 he’s now a New York jet
Moore, Pitts, Chase, Amon-Ra, Hufanga🔥 crazy how far they came
Imagine a green screen, a stank ass hat, and some "KEKEKEKEKEKEKEKEKEKEKE, GET HIS COOL"
Lmao!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Now Bow how many times are you gonna comment hate about football on this video lmao
Now Bow who are you
lmaoooooooooooooo
Tf are you talking about...
it’s so cool to see some of these guys are in the nfl now
Al Blades Jr gonna be dangerous at next level !
TP RELOADED boy eye discipline on 💯
TP RELOADED he's fucking trash. He's be at FAU if it wasn't for his last name
Boy is going to be a beast. Seen him get burned a couple times but put him on a team with a good pass rush and he's going to be a shutdown corner
Al blades gonna be beast!!! Patrick surtain Ii as well...following their dads footsteps.
iRays HD who had 10 catches on him. He had 2 of the best wr in the nation scratching their heads. What are you watching.
Elijah Moore cooking all the dbs
trust me he gonna be a good receiver if he continue to grind and make it to the league
YRN Splashes yea but when that ass of a wr plays and he starts out shuffling his feet like that for an hour he'll get flat assed
What about Amon ra
They both in the nfl now so 🤷♂️
Love Elijah Moore in this, he runs with purpose & intensity on every route, good strides, really good footwork & hands
Al Blades jumped off my youtube screen. Recievers in situations kind of can have their way with any DB, its open field, no safety, no OLB. But you can really see whos going to be a top DB. Al Blades is that.
Mark pope did that boy patrick surtain in
It’s almost 2019 and I still comeback see rewatch that route at 0:42 times 😂
He leads in yards in college football with ole miss 😅 he’s raw
The last 1:00 was mostly The Crib athletes doing their thang!!!! Elijah Moore, Mark Pope, Al Blades Jr, Xavier Williams, Asanti Samuel, and Patrick Surtain II...
JLyons Productions amon ra the best in the whole league though for his position
One thing is cleaer...Amon Ra is the best receiver in this class, and by far.
Stefon Johnson not by far Elijah Moore right there with em
Mproductions Amon Ra is on another level. Runs Pro level routes
not by far!
so you didn't see Elijah moore cooking every DB with routes???
K. dot In this video it isn't that far but with pads on, Amon-Ra is definitely a lot better than any other receiver out there. I don't care what rankings say.

yankeefan4life97 he's ranked 3rd
Dickrider but u right
9:56 best coverage of the whole vid - using the sideline as an extra defender and bullying the WR to go where he wants him. Beautiful coverage.
What's that beat called? It go hard💯💪🏽
1 on 1s always favor the receiver. Especially when these routes arent in the tree. These receivers are running the "just get open playbook". Much easier for a WR in this environment.
Elijah moore is killing it !!!
the fact that some of these kids are gonna be in the NFL next year blows my mind for some reason
Facts
allblades was the only one that could hold st brown
BurnsFam Anthony cook
Denzal Qualls All I see is a DB holding a WR cause he ain't got the speed to keep up with him.
BurnsFam I didn't see anybody hold down ASB once. One major defensive hold on cook but that's it.
True dat
KermitGOD harder to play corner than receiver. Brown would get cooked if he was a corner. Not cooked but he’d get beat as well
Amon and Elijah looking like pros out there with the route running 🔥🔥
Well they are now lol
7:20 LSU receiver Ja’Marr Chase vs USC db Olaijah Griffin (a.k.a Warren G’s son)
chase vs patrick surtain was tuff too, theyre both gonna be first round picks next year
It’s cool looking at this now and seeing so many player that got drafted
I was very impressed by Justin Shorter, big, fast, gets open, catches the ball. Little wasted movement in his routes.
0:41 is my favorite route in this whole video. Elijah Moore makes that route just look effortless. His explosiveness in this video is just insane
2 years later jmarr chase killing it at LSU
3 years later dude made it to the big league

ruckert ass he cant even get off the jam he move so slow
Kyle Pitts wasn’t bad
Kyle Pitts nice though
cole burny ruckert is beast mode
This was the best Opening finals of all time, no cap!
Al Blades is the best DB in this video Great coverage
8:25 is the best matchup. I could watch that all day. I need to look up what Elijah Moore is doing this year.

Jacques Johnson true also what possion u play
Jason loves bmx safety
Best Wr was Elijah Moore and Best Db al Blades jr if he would turn his dam head to look when the ball is coming.
How do they have 2 pairs of compression pants on?🥺
best DB I saw in this video: Al Blades Jr. Best WR(s): 1. Elijah Moore 1a. Amon-ra St. Brown. I know recruiting rankings say otherwise, but this is what MY eyes saw from this video.
K. dot Amon Ra is the best. Stop lying to yourself
had to watch more film on St. brown and I have to say he is the best, but on this particular film slight edge to Moore.
K. dot Fair enough
K. dot look like Amon-ra is better because elijah moore seems to rely on his quickness and almost always do short routes
Moore, St Brown and Marshall Jr were my favorite wideouts and Blades DB is disgustingly good with his eyes its kinda scary tbh
Tim Lettiero Marshall is the #1 ranked WR in Louisiana and he's a sophomore. Looked a little shook here but I've seen him play in person and I know he's got crazy talent
Clayton if that's him shook I could imagine what him in the zone looks like
Tim Lettiero haha yea shook wasn't really the right word, mainly looked like he was trying too hard on his releases, but watching again you can tell he did every move with purpose
No matter what, if it’s 1v1 WR will win 90% of the time. Playing CB/DB is just plain right harder.
YizTheGreat aye my man you seem cool but aye how do you make it the opening
Brandon Perez You have to be a top high school football player prospect. ALL of the guys you are seeing in this video are 3,4,or 5 star recruits coming out of high school who've already committed to a college football program. You'll get invited to them in your mail box or on the internet from the Nike football program or whatever. It's your choice whether to go to them or not. I see many people keep on talking about Episoketren System. But Im not sure if it is good. Have you ever tried using this popular training course?
st.brown was honestly the best WR in this video
Anthony Hernandez no elijah moore
Dimitri Luttrell amon ra is better
Fam they both good
Dimitri Luttrell Amon Ra St Brown defintely better and all the scouts agree.
eric garcia I love both of them i just like elijah moore better. My opinion
What is Episoketren System? I've heard many amazing things about this popular training course.
Patrick Surtain II is a 5 star Cornerback but got exposed all day by every wide receiver he went against........
you dumb asf
Glory Boy well it is different without pads and its not like hes facing no names
Glory Boy also the WR were not playing like a legit game, there would normally be extra DBs where the WR is running so, yeah
You got to consider half those so called routes they were running ain't real. And they won't be able to go in the middle that freely
Thats cause hes 5 stars against normal level players these are the best of the best
#5 could be an extremely good receiver at the Division 1 college level. He has very good ball skills, but his best attribute is his tremendous speed out of his break.
