I bought the Weber burger press. I was kind of disappointed. No indication of how much meat to use, as you said, feels flimsy too! Meat will stick unless you oil it before. Really liked your suggestion of using parchment paper!!
I agree, I wish they had a level indicator to know how much meat to put in. It’s kinda trial and error. Other than that I have been enjoying it. Parchment paper is a must but I love the automatic dimple it puts in each patty. Thanks for watching! Please like, share, and subscribe. Happy grilling!
First and foremost thanks for the video! Apparently your supposed to use a wooden board to ‘knock’ the burgers out. ua-cam.com/video/RkZpsxr8xeU/v-deo.html
Yea, I mean trial and error. Come on it’s not that hard. Get a food scale and make sure you have the same amount of meat in each burger. That’s what I would do.
I believe the term you were looking for is not 1/4 inch but 1/4 pound, which is 4 oz of meat. I prefer 1/3 pound or 5 oz patties so this press would not work for my application. I am sure weighing your ground would increase ease of use! I always weigh mine out. For the bigger side of this press, it's 1/2 pound or 8 oz of meat. Weigh it out, ball it up and press them quickly use cooking spray to lessen sticking. If you're freezing them, burgers are best cooked from near room temperature rather than frozen. Some delicious add ins for ingredients are 1/2 tsp mustard and 2 tsp of Worchestershire sauce, 1/8 tsp garlic powder, 1/8 tsp coarse or freshly ground black pepper per pound of ground beef. Lightly mix, let rest in refrigerator overnight before making patties. Coarse ground chuck works best 80/20. I sometimes grind beef short ribs in with chuck. Simply Awesome on the grill!
I like my burgers smash, so I press 4 oz of ground beef in between 2 parchment/wax/butcher papers wih a sheet pan (or tortilla press if you have one already). No gadgets necessary. 😂
Sorry I’m not understanding the question. As I said in the video, the presses measure in inches and not lbs. you will need to pre measure out on a scale.
Hey, thanks for the video. I bought this Weber burger press and I found this video in my research. Have you tried twisting the burger press to release the patty? I noticed on mine there is a lock and unlocking icon with directional arrows. I see in the video yours has it too. When I twist in the unlock icon direction the lid comes off the patty and stays on the black base part making it easy to transfer the patty onto a plate. I think this twisting is similar to the physics of a screw driver and should work on your other patty press too. Let me know if you've tried this twisting and if works for you. Also, I just found this newer video from Weber for the product on their website. It doesn't seem like they mention the twisting there either unfortunately. ua-cam.com/video/6SOhWLaSVxE/v-deo.html
I didn’t noticed that! Thank you for pointing it out. I’ll be making some burgers Sunday and will defiantly try it out. This just made the press even better! Thanks again!
@@JimBic72 yes, I believe so. When lightly oiled, unlocking the handle helps the patty come out easier but I still think parchment paper is a must. Also, parchment paper keeps things neat and organized in my opinion.
@@JimBic72 Yeah, I think you're right. I apologize for my excitement. I still think it might be a good idea to twist it--if the handle didn't come loose. I think the forces from twisting could assist the patty removal. Anyway, happy grilling!
The Webber press tells you how much burger to use. Your mistake was thinking the 1/4 INCH and 1/ 2 inch when the press is cleanly marked pounds, not inches.
I appreciate the amount of work you put into making this review. Fire and music synchronization at 6:45 is great. A quality content for sure!
Thanks you for watching! I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I try my best to make it interesting. Please like and subscribe, happy grilling!
To hell with the burgers, I'm here for the fire and music synchronization and the quality content for sure!
3 years later and it's 30% more! $15.99. Wish my wages were 30% more.
Thanks for the review. I couldn’t decide which was better so I bought both. I actually like the metal one more than the Weber.
Glad I could help!
Thanks for the parchment paper hack! One thing though, the 1/4 and 1/3, aren't those lbs and not inches?
Yeah, sorry about that. I misspoke. Glad you liked the video, thanks for watching. Happy grilling!

Kraft singles?
Yup lol
Thanks for your video

Thanks for the tip! I started grinding my own meat and chuck with some ribs and dry aged ribeye scraps is amazing! Happy cooking.

No toasted buns? Delete! 😂
😅
You say half and quarter inch patti but it has nothing to do with inches if you look good, its about lb or pound

I have seen the Weber used differently to how you did and it worked fine, just sayin'.

Tried out this weekend. Worked most of the time! As long as the inside is oiled a bit, the patties pop right out! Thanks for pointing that out!!
I think that just indicates that the handle is locked, forgive me if I’m wrong!

I would say no because we prefer smash burgers
Good point! 🤣
