@1:13 I heard the knock and figured something bad was going to happen, although I didn't expect the crank to spontaneously disassemble itself like that. I had a old Chevy motor do the exact same thing back in the day at redline which locked the engine all the way to the back tires making the next few seconds memorable to say the least. It was also rather expensive to fix all the damage but afterwards it was an animal and to this day is still the nastiest thing I have ever driven. It was a 70 Nova that was so aggressive that there was no point that you could floor the throttle without torching the rear tires until you were going about 90 and the slightest bump of throttle would immediately initiate the pucker factor and white knuckles for anyone in the car. It was so much fun but extremely dangerous.
That knocking, was definitely more than just the top end

I talked to Phong on IG few weeks ago and he’s just taking it easy.
The CRX is tucked away still in his garage and he just needed to walk away from it for a while. He has felt like a failure bc of all of he problems it’s given him with the front suspension. I said to him, now there’s newer technology out now, he shouldn’t have any problems anymore.

Phong is anythjng but a failure, he is redesigning the front end in his head secretly and when he stumbles accross the right idea he will knock it out and be back, I love the nitro crx. So bad ass. It is the most impressive build IV seen for sure. All motor, so much r and d

The loss of a 4th gen prelude headlight is tragic...but at least the grille vent piece is still intact...those are very hard to come by anymore...glad nobody got hurt...besides the headlight anyway 😅

That's Crazy! I watched your dad's video after I watched this one and saw the piece that took out the headlight sailed out the window and another couple hundred feet almost to the road! Good thing no one was in front of it!!!

Not the best dyno day, but thankfully the damage isn't worse. Usually, the stock dampers aren't too much of a problem. I guess that's why people get the ATI's. The bolt may have been loose too. You would know more than me 😛

22:55 a crank and a aftermarket ATI super damper harmonic balancer for insurance.
The owner says hes not worried but half his bottom end is gone.

going to guess before I even watch the video looked like a headlight went kabam so i will guess either dreaded H22 balancer failure or charge pipe went through bumper and got the headlight. Or the turbo let go but didn't see any smoke from back or front

Dang! So, as precaution from now on. No one's allowed in front of a car while doing a dyno pull. That could have ended a lot worse.

500 + hp I bet the crank just gave up honestly. Shit gets real temperamental running that much power. It will exploit all weakness. At least when it blew there was a good show for sure. That was a good one. And need to get some lexan sheeting to protect yourselves, aka the blast shield. You guys are creative enough that you can make a mobile stand with some lexan anti shatter blast shield material, I’d hate to see someone get hurt by some shrapnel+ everyone stands right there usually and watches

You should never have balance shaft in high performance engine if the cams are stock cams ok but aftermarket they have to go because they don't work with aftermarket cams.
Only used for a smoother idle with stock cams if there gone free HP
Cams on engine are stock. And the balance shaft belt is deleted just leave the shafts in for oiling purposes
The percussive shock could have broken the headlight.
Unexpected??? But......But.....you can hear timing belt tensioner noises at the start of the video when hes bringing the car in on the dyno

Jamie's car and this car is their any reason or thought as to the problem? Overnight timing belt over torqued bolt? Or maybe under torqued?
Jamie’s was slightly different as it broke the main’s this car literally just broke the snout off the crank and sounds like we aren’t the first or only H car to have this issue
