Hi Cecilia! I want to say I have NEVER commented on a UA-cam video, and I have been watching them for years! However, the content that you and Christoffer create is SO ABOVE PAR!! I found your channel in the winter of 2022 and have been hooked ever since!!! Thank you SO MUCH for sharing your life on Svalbard with the world! Your content is beautiful, wholesome, and filled with purpose!! Keep it up!!!
Hello from Canada (we are at -40 this week)! I hope everyone and the polar bear stays safe out there. Off to make my morning coffee to enjoy alongside this video :) I had to add this note about Churchill. Unfortunately, this area does not have the same rules that Svalbard does re: contact between humans and bears ex. Churchill polar bear tours (which, in my opinion makes for bears becoming acclimatized to people). It's unfortunate as I think it ends in many more polar bears being euthanized/having to be relocated. I hope that in the future, they will take a note from Svalbard's book and instill a 0 contact law. Anyways... my 2 cents on a Sunday!
I agree, i am from Thompson Manitoba and the polar bears are a tourist attraction which in turn brings the polar bears into town. But yes they do put them in a polar bear jail, and re locate them. The bears are also so hungry waiting for the ice to come in.
To me, one of the benefits of UA-cam that has become increasingly important to many of us is a unique kind of friendship. To those who have a huge extended family and lots of friends they’ve had since kindergarten, that sounds rather silly, I would imagine. I mean those folks have relationships people with whom they actually celebrate holidays , have lunch out, go fishing, or shopping. Others, like me, are rather isolated . Thank you for generously inviting me to share your days.
Christoffer getting more comfortable and talking with the camera is a treat I didn’t know I needed! He seems like such a big teddy bear and I love your guy’s accents! I hope he feels comfortable to do some more 🤍🕊️
I agree. This video was so relaxing and calming to me. I'm going to have to try hanging my blankets outside. But I have to find a spot. I'm from Illinois, by the way. 😊
I’ve seen the polar bear holding facility in Churchill. They don’t just deter bears from heading toward town, but also do medical checks and monitor the bear populations.
I follow a scientist on Antarctica. He's got some fascinating videos and talks about the life down there. I have told him about your channel Cecilia and if Q's Greenland shorts. It's amazing to see the contrast between the two poles and how life is lived by all there.
The joy you have is so contagious. I love when you were sliding down the mountain past Christopher and Grim, Grim was whining. To me he was saying, "Are you OK? I will save you!" What a pup! Just want to hug him so bad! I always look forward to my weekly 'Coffee with Cecelia' time.
I think this is one of my favourite videos, I really liked the uplifting message at the end, the sliding down the mountain, the chat time , Cecilia’s tidy up, Christoffer’s wood chat, just all of it, thank you for Sunday happiness!
Yes! I agree. I have enjoyed this video so much. I watched it twice, straight through. Just so lovely. Now most of my bits don’t flex like they used to I can even enjoy watching Cecilia doing her housework. Nothing like a good clean up! Every thing in its place… there is something about cleanliness and order that just makes me breathe a big sigh of contentment. And as for all the slip sliding down the mountain…such fun. I could do with a dose of that. Thank you Cecilia, Cristoffer and Grim for sharing your joy with us. I know how Cristoffer feels after doing an all-nighter watching videos. Right now our sun is setting around 8pm and darkness is half eight to nine pm. Snuggling up in bed watching Netflix or panoramic on my tablet it’s so easy to role over and see the sun rising around five of six in the morning. Sending love from Australia to your lovely family in snowy Svalbard.😎
Yes, Christoffer seems very comfortable before the camera now. It’s very cold in New England, too, and the coziness of your videos helps us feel good. That wood stove is awesome.
I LOVE being in the dark. I lived in Oregon for over 20 years and worked nights so I didn’t even see the small amount of daylight that there was in the winter and it invigorated me. Cozy X’s 9 million.
I live in Des Moines, IA USA and I am enchanted and delighted with you and all you share. You are just so fun and love your life. I also live this way. I am 70 and find delight in just about everything. I wanted to share with you today that when I got up this morning at 6 am - our real temperature was -17F and our wind chill was -43F. So I checked the weather in Svalbard and it said -12 F and -28 wind chill F. We are colder here in the middle of the United States!! I took our dog out this morning and enjoyed the quiet of the 24" of snow we have had over the last 2 days of blizzard and then breathed in that crisp clean air. Poor dog is not used to this cold and I had to rub her feet as they seemed to freeze quite quickly. I would have trouble with your darkness. I do not do well when it is cloudy for weeks on end. I would need to sit in front of a light somewhere. Thank you for your channel. Loved your Christmas podcast with Christopher. We have 15 grandchildren so our home was not so quiet as yours!! Have a wonderful 2024 and don't let those polar bears get you!! I am surprised they are not walking down our street!! Blessings....Marcia Hansen
I love seeing Christoffer being more involved in front of the camera. He is such a gentle soul!!! You guys are such an amazing couple. Let's not forget about Grim, the fur princess!!!
😂 Cecilia sliding down the hill😂. Just what we all love about you, Cecilia, you have the joy of a child playing in the snow. ❤. I love seeing more of Chrisoffer! (Especially, as you slide him across the snow 😂😂) And of course, Grimm! 16 degrees here right now. Too cold for us in Western Washington 😮. Love you guys! ❤ Thank you for another great video! ❤❤
I'm on the other side of Washington state by the Idaho border and yesterday with the wind chill factor it was -28 degrees Fahrenheit and today it was still in the negatives but only like -3ish. I saw we should have higher than normal temps coming in 2 weeks, hopefully that prediction is accurate.
This is so comforting. I have seasonal depression, which is especially hard after the lightness and festivity of Christmas. To see you and Christoffer having fun together with the dog, doing chores, and otherwise thriving in Svalbard is a gift of perspective.
Good morning from Wyoming, USA! We have been having snow and very cold temperatures. Yesterday it was -36°F with wind chills of -55°F. It’s starting to warm up today, but it’s still going to be below zero for the next few days. I very much enjoy your videos!
Hullo young one. I want to thank you for your skill at filming the night sky and your surroundings. That alone is worth all. However you have done this, and whatever equipment you use -- it is astounding. To see a pure night sky over Svaalbard is quite stunning. Well done. The only time I ever saw such a sky was lying on my back at the south edge of The Grand Canyon where artificial light sources are prohibited. I envy your place in the universe and thank you for your work. Everyone should look up.
Yay!! Great to see more of Christoffer - he seems more comfortable. P.S. Absolutely loving the cook books. You guys are top of my Hygge go-to list ☺️☺️☺️
I'm happy to see more of Christoffer on camera, I enjoy everyone's antics- I laughed hard when you were dragging him. As always Svalbard remains a magical place that I hope to visit one day and maybe even meet Grimm. Greetings from WV. ❤
I'm laughing at your sliding down the mountain. You make everything so much fun, Cecilia...like a bright winter sprite. Thank you for brightening my dark winter day in the Netherlands. Cheers and Happy New Year 2024 to you both and Grim, the sleepy one. 😹
I love these videos so much but every time I watch your gorgeous shots of you walking up the mountain or driving up the hill on the snowmobile I always picture you guys going up setting up the camera and then going down just to get the shot and I am grateful for your hard work to give us the most incredible visuals.
Hi, Christoffer, Cecilia, and Grim! Love seeing and hearing more of Christoffer on the videos.❤ Love being able to see Grim charging around with his light on!❤❤❤
I am in the DFW area of North Texas. We are having our winter weather advisory right now…for three days. It is currently 13 degrees but feels like -3 degrees. I know this is warm for y’all but for us this is freezing🥶
At 24:54. I couldn’t tell if Grim wanted to rescue you or play. I LOVE the snow. It snow’d for eight seconds here yesterday and I enjoyed every last second of it. lol.
Grimm came over for a hug. Hugs for Grimm. I like your little chats Christoffer. It’s cool that you guys have a routine with certain things but also relax too.
Always love a good snow storm episode -- it all feels so cozy and is the epitome of winter! I love that you three go out for adventures even in the dark, snowy cold!
Dear Cecilia, your videos are really insipiring. This particular video has clearly indicated respect for nature and wild animals like polar bear in your region Svalvard and Norway in general. Also, you all are immensely sincere, honest and hardworking people. Do continue making such videos. May God bless you, your family and your country Norway. Amen.
Hugs and greetings from the Bavarian Forrest in Germany. We have small -2 DC. But everything is slippery because of freezing rain and your surroundings are far more beautiful thank ours. It is called "Schneewehe" in German, where you and Christoffer layed so nice and comfortable with Grim outside at the beginning of the video.
Not sure that I fully understand your comment comparing the two areas, but the Bavarian Forest is gorgeous! You are truly blessed to live there. Best regards from Tampa, Florida, USA.
We had a blizzard here in Nebraska last few days and this morning, it’s currently -15 F so we’re colder! My husky loves it. She also gets nervous when it’s like this. But she wants to stay 24/7 outside.
I rewatch your videos simply because i love them. I love your vibe, you are always happy and gratefull. I also love to see Grim being cuddly and silly. And Christoffer has come far being comfortable on camera.
Are you always so bubbly and funny? You brighten my day for sure. Loved seeing Christoffer on camera more. Grim is such a funny man. I agree with his style. Here in Costa Rica it is hot, not cold, but I step outside and I'm like Grim, no Thanks. We don't have errant polar bears, but you might see a jaguar or puma out your window. We are close to the equator, so it gets light at 5am and dark by 6pm every day of the year. Thanks for another great video. I could almost feel that cold air in my lungs. Wish I had just one long breath again.... Kisses, Grim.
I have so much respect for you for surviving those dark days. I have suffered from severe SAD my whole life and I can hardly make it through those gray days here when it already gets dark at 3:30pm. Watching you hike through the pitch black makes me so grateful for every second of light I get here.
We haven’t had snow in our part of North Carolina for several years and I miss it. It’s a bit cold but not like it used to be. You all enjoy your dark days and snow as much as I do watching your videos. Thank you for sharing.
Nice soft background music. I fully expected Grim to do the AG1 commercial before I realized it is for people. Maybe doggie vitamin people will be contacting you soon, lol. Grim is such a baby. He can perk up anybody's day just by watching him. I just know he smells so good too.😊
It seems we are all loving Christoffer’s new UA-cam presence! He is a natural. Love seeing him! You are such a kid Cecilia - that hike was soooooo much fun. At 76 - I would not last long - so fun to watch you, Christoffer and Grim enjoy! Thank you for another wonderful video. Perfection! ❤🎉 - I got a little vertigo up on the mountaintop when you were closing in on the ‘edge’!!! 😂
I love the Churchill reference here! Churchill is in my home Province. The Polar Bear Jail in Churchill is to essentially hold the Bears until the ice is developed on Hudson's Bay. Churchill has one of the southernmost populations of Polar Bears in the world and sometimes takes a bit for the ice to develop so while the bears are getting ancy, waiting for the ice, they roam around the Churchill area and can cause some co-existence issues
What a beautiful and uplifting video at this time of year 🎉! It was lovely to see you speed clean and Christopher sharing about the wood. Your bonding is soothing and beautiful. Great effort to climb that rock and so much fun gliding and sliding hahaha. I enjoyed all of it. Thank you Cecilia, Christopher and Grim. Love you Lots Byeee❤

Kristopher is a gentleman. I've never seen him get upset at all. No matter the circumstances. You two obviously love each other and Grimm. Personally think it's time to make it official. Love, from Arizona.

It’s been an interesting weather week here in Wisconsin. First we got over 1.5 feet of snow (we didn’t have any on the ground yet) to suddenly -29F windchill temps. Sadly the city plow took out our mailbox, so until spring, I’m going to have to go to post office 1-2 times a week to pick up mail. Thankfully they will deliver packages to my door. The mailbox will be replaced with a heavy duty steel mailbox a steel mounting post, but of course I have to now wait for ground to thaw. Good times.
Your videos make me smile. I appreciate your positive attitude and the fact that you genuinely find beauty in the dark polar night. It makes me rethink our own weather peculiarities.
I cant adequately express just how alien your life is to me, Im living through my 56th Australian summer, last week we topped 40 deg C a couple of times.......in the shade.......your world is beautiful but I couldnt live in it, we complain about our short winters. Ive only seen snow 3 times and had to travel across the continent and then drive for many hours to do so......but I appreciate so much you sharing your world with us.
Hi from Chicago. It is -23 celcius. Everything is closed. We get cold weather but nothing like you, or Canada! I started watching and I could see so many stars, even falling stars from my computer. It must be beautiful. My dad's side of the family came from SE Norway. Knudsen and no one pronounces it correctly. It is very funny.
Greetings, love your channel! Fun to watch all your adventures. Just a suggestion, please check into the safety of burning pressure treated lumber in your home. It contains copper, arsenic, zinc which are dangerous to inhale. All the best to you guys and Grim!!!
Your cabin reset days give me so much joy! 😂 I took my tree down on December 26 ~ I had it up for 6 week so I was done with it by then! I always do a major cleaning the week between Christmas & New Year so I can start the new year on a good foot. Marianna 💜💜
What a beautiful world! To see the shooting stars and the aurora borealis !!! I loved watching you slide down the hills. So much fun. Have a great week-end.
Loving Christoffer being more on camera by himself and telling us what he’s doing.
Yeah. He is more relaxed and confident before the camera now.
That’s what I came on here to say! I love it! Love the educational aspect as well.
Yes, more Christoffer segments, please. (If he's willing, of course.)
Yes that immediately caught my eye too. Nice to see Christoffer too.
I came here to say this! Happy to hear him talk about what he's been doing and plans to do himself. Your English is great Christoffer!

We had a blizzard here in Nebraska last few days and this morning, it’s currently -15 F so we’re colder! My husky loves it. She also gets nervous when it’s like this. But she wants to stay 24/7 outside.
I’m in Texas and expecting the arctic blast early in the a.m.
Christoffer gives a different perspective to the vidros. It's interesting and so nice to get his vibe too ❤
❤️ The Good Wife. Good choice Christoffer. Must be followed by watching The Good Fight
Nice soft background music. I fully expected Grim to do the AG1 commercial before I realized it is for people. Maybe doggie vitamin people will be contacting you soon, lol. Grim is such a baby. He can perk up anybody's day just by watching him. I just know he smells so good too.😊
I can’t believe places like this exist it’s so beautiful! Thank you for sharing Cecilia and Christoffer! ❤❤
I like that the dog has a light.
The view of the village, from the mountain, was incredible! Thanks for sharing.
Norway is just a different way of life! I just got back from skiing there and it was - 26 degrees and whole families and kids were out in it loved it!
I have never seen more beautiful stars in my life!!! Along with the Aurora lights!!!❤❤❤❤
I really enjoy the music choices you make for your content. So nice thank you for sharing you, Christopher and Grims daily life. I really enjoy.
Not the bears fault by any means, and being a semi-accessible tourist spot the bears can get habituated to being around people unfortunately
So good.to have Cristoffer on camera!!! Lovely to hear from him.
I never seen him speak a lot in her videos before 😳
Watching from South Africa 🇿🇦 with lots of love
What a beautiful and uplifting video at this time of year 🎉! It was lovely to see you speed clean and Christopher sharing about the wood. Your bonding is soothing and beautiful. Great effort to climb that rock and so much fun gliding and sliding hahaha. I enjoyed all of it. Thank you Cecilia, Christopher and Grim. Love you Lots Byeee❤
I have begun to notice articles on the internet where you, Cecilia, are the interviewee - fantastic!!🎉
Yay, thank you! 😍😍
@@CeciliaBlomdahl it's wonderful to see you're bringing awareness of this amazing place on earth to so many. My observations lead me to believe you are instrumental to this awareness; this, in itself, helps to lessen the ignorance that thrives throughout the planet.
I thank you sincerely for providing this kind of awareness.
Kristopher is a gentleman. I've never seen him get upset at all. No matter the circumstances. You two obviously love each other and Grimm. Personally think it's time to make it official. Love, from Arizona.
Good morning from California. Awesome video. Now that is cold. Wow. You two are amazing hiking up the mountain it must have been so beautiful. Thank you once again. Hello Grim! Much love
Hello 👋 My Dearest Friends Cecilia And Christoffer 😊And Grimm: What An Experience Of The Polar Snow ❄️ Storm . How Beautiful The Snow Is. You Live A Beautiful Life. It's actually colder in Chicago today (-8 F) than in Svalbard!
Always a treat to have a new video of Cecelia and Christoffer
Christoffer is becoming a natural on camera. I love it
Hi from Chicago.
I admire you going on hikes in complete darkness and a snowstorm. I think I wouldn’t go far from home during the polar night
Greetings, love your channel! Fun to watch all your adventures. Just a suggestion, please check into the safety of burning pressure treated lumber in your home. It contains copper, arsenic, zinc which are dangerous to inhale. All the best to you guys and Grim!!!
The city is so beautiful lit up in background
Your cabin reset days give me so much joy! 😂
I took my tree down on December 26 ~ I had it up for 6 week so I was done with it by then! I always do a major cleaning the week between Christmas & New Year so I can start the new year on a good foot.
Marianna 💜💜
What a beautiful world! To see the shooting stars and the aurora borealis !!! I loved watching you slide down the hills. So much fun. Have a great week-end.
Great video! Thank you very much Cecilia, Christoffer and Grim for sharing your daily life. ❤⭐️❤️
Christoffer is really warming up to the camera! (Get it? Warming up?) He's very relaxed and his English is very good. Glad to see it!
Happy Sunday to you Cecilia, Christoffer and Grim.❤❤❤
