Loving Christoffer being more on camera by himself and telling us what he’s doing.
Yeah. He is more relaxed and confident before the camera now.
That’s what I came on here to say! I love it! Love the educational aspect as well.
Yes, more Christoffer segments, please. (If he's willing, of course.)
Yes that immediately caught my eye too. Nice to see Christoffer too.
I came here to say this! Happy to hear him talk about what he's been doing and plans to do himself. Your English is great Christoffer!
Love hearing Christoffer being more vocal and interactive on the channel.
Yes, same. 🤩
Me too❤😊
It's really quite nice, and I love his cooking 🎉
I love how comfortable Christoffer is in front of the camera now!! I cant believe how calm you are outside with a polor bear somewhere lol
I am surprised that the house isn’t enclosed all the way to the earth! Seems like it would prevent the winter winds from cooling the floors?!
@@ricklarouche4105 They aren't allowed to as it would melt the permafrost having an giant insulator sitting on top of it.
I'm a therapist. I absolutely LOVE what you said "In order not to feel trapped by the darkness, I head straight into it" ❤ Perfect. I know you mean physical darkness but I often talk with my clients about metaphorical darkness and say "The only way out is through". ❤
She embraces the darkness.......
I feel that Cecilia has the knowing that she can survive. Maybe that's why she said that. And of course, she got throught it! ❤ Brave lady!
@@macaroll yes, self confidence! Hello from Poland and mindful life by Agnes - my channel :) And countryside!
Love this. I don’t like the darkness especially since I can’t see or drive in it now at 64. Bad eyes😂!
@@NurseyPooh, I'm the same age. I can drive at night but I choose not to. 😊
Cecilia, I don't know how you manage to make your videos so interesting? You live on a small island, with Christoffer and Grimm. It's total winter darkness,so your daily routine doesn't change very much, yet you can make such interesting conversations and keep viewers hooked. You have a unique ability to talk us through your day. Heartwarming and beautifully put together. Thank you for sharing your life with us.
Yes, i agree! And also her personality itself, it's so vibrant! Loving it! ❤
Ya it’s strange how such mundane things can be so pleasing to watch. I agree with your other comment responder. Their personalities are just comfortable.
Don’t we all cherish some normality and interesting content. Well, almost 800k do. It is cozy and calming to see these three flourishing in the arctic
Hi Cecilia!
I want to say I have NEVER commented on a UA-cam video, and I have been watching them for years! However, the content that you and Christoffer create is SO ABOVE PAR!! I found your channel in the winter of 2022 and have been hooked ever since!!! Thank you SO MUCH for sharing your life on Svalbard with the world! Your content is beautiful, wholesome, and filled with purpose!! Keep it up!!!
I so agree with you, and yes, thank you Cecilia for sharing the beauty of Svalbard with us...
Ditto!
You're so lucky to have each other there. I would imagine a highly motivated single person could make it, but being a team is so much better.
It's unreal how lit up the village is. MAGICAL
Thank you Cristoffer for talking to us! Appreciate your presence, little or often ❤ 😊
You guys are so fun. It is cool that Chritoffer feels more comfortable talking to us now, it's like he got to know us. Love you guys!
Grimm the fur baby was worried when she was sliding down the hill, such a loyal family member ❤ so precious.
The weekend would not be complete without a visit to Svalbard to check in on our wonderful Cecilia.
It's amazing how many stars are visible in the night sky without the light pollution. So beautiful!
My Sunday moment of zen with Cecilia, Christoffer and Grim. Great job as always Lady of Svalbard! 😊
I agree. This video was so relaxing and calming to me. I'm going to have to try hanging my blankets outside. But I have to find a spot. I'm from Illinois, by the way. 😊
I think it was calming as Cecilia was not talking as fast and loud as usual. It was a nice change, and Cristoffer got to say something. Yay. ❤
To me, one of the benefits of UA-cam that has become increasingly important to many of us is a unique kind of friendship. To those who have a huge extended family and lots of friends they’ve had since kindergarten, that sounds rather silly, I would imagine. I mean those folks have relationships people with whom they actually celebrate holidays , have lunch out, go fishing, or shopping. Others, like me, are rather isolated . Thank you for generously inviting me to share your days.
Hello from Canada (we are at -40 this week)! I hope everyone and the polar bear stays safe out there. Off to make my morning coffee to enjoy alongside this video :) I had to add this note about Churchill. Unfortunately, this area does not have the same rules that Svalbard does re: contact between humans and bears ex. Churchill polar bear tours (which, in my opinion makes for bears becoming acclimatized to people). It's unfortunate as I think it ends in many more polar bears being euthanized/having to be relocated. I hope that in the future, they will take a note from Svalbard's book and instill a 0 contact law. Anyways... my 2 cents on a Sunday!
I agree, i am from Thompson Manitoba and the polar bears are a tourist attraction which in turn brings the polar bears into town. But yes they do put them in a polar bear jail, and re locate them. The bears are also so hungry waiting for the ice to come in.
I live in Canada and it was 2° this week. 😅
@@kimhirtle9990 LOL I should have specified Alberta!!
I too live near Edmonton, Alberta. Checked temperature while starting car at 4am. Minus 43 C with wind chill making it feel like Minus 53 C.
@@nancybell5368Howdy neighbour! I’m in Red Deer, hibernating this week. Brrrrrrrrr
Christoffer has definitely feeling more comfortable on camera. Thanks for the video and allowing us a constant glimpse into the Svalbard life.
The best ending - sliding down a snowy incline. I love it!!
Your videos are like therapy, they’re so easy and calming to watch. Thank you.
I’ve seen the polar bear holding facility in Churchill. They don’t just deter bears from heading toward town, but also do medical checks and monitor the bear populations.
I think this is one of my favourite videos, I really liked the uplifting message at the end, the sliding down the mountain, the chat time , Cecilia’s tidy up, Christoffer’s wood chat, just all of it, thank you for Sunday happiness!
Yes! I agree. I have enjoyed this video so much. I watched it twice, straight through. Just so lovely. Now most of my bits don’t flex like they used to I can even enjoy watching Cecilia doing her housework. Nothing like a good clean up! Every thing in its place… there is something about cleanliness and order that just makes me breathe a big sigh of contentment. And as for all the slip sliding down the mountain…such fun. I could do with a dose of that. Thank you Cecilia, Cristoffer and Grim for sharing your joy with us. I know how Cristoffer feels after doing an all-nighter watching videos. Right now our sun is setting around 8pm and darkness is half eight to nine pm. Snuggling up in bed watching Netflix or panoramic on my tablet it’s so easy to role over and see the sun rising around five of six in the morning. Sending love from Australia to your lovely family in snowy Svalbard.😎
@@nolasmith7687 love from Poland and mindful life by Agnes - my channel :-) and countryside! I agree, it was a lovely video.
The joy you have is so contagious. I love when you were sliding down the mountain past Christopher and Grim, Grim was whining. To me he was saying, "Are you OK? I will save you!" What a pup! Just want to hug him so bad! I always look forward to my weekly 'Coffee with Cecelia' time.
I love how humans live in parts of the planet that are designed for animals and then get scared.. make it make sense.
The polar bear was looking for Christoffers baked goods.....hahaha
Thank you Cecilia,Christopher, and Grim for the adventures climbing the mountain.
Coming down looks like a blast 😅.
Yes, Christoffer seems very comfortable before the camera now. It’s very cold in New England, too, and the coziness of your videos helps us feel good. That wood stove is awesome.
Dear Cecilia, your videos are really insipiring. This particular video has clearly indicated respect for nature and wild animals like polar bear in your region Svalvard and Norway in general. Also, you all are immensely sincere, honest and hardworking people. Do continue making such videos. May God bless you, your family and your country Norway. Amen.
Aww Grimm whining was so sweet. Poor fluffy guy.
😂 Cecilia sliding down the hill😂. Just what we all love about you, Cecilia, you have the joy of a child playing in the snow. ❤. I love seeing more of Chrisoffer! (Especially, as you slide him across the snow 😂😂) And of course, Grimm! 16 degrees here right now. Too cold for us in Western Washington 😮. Love you guys! ❤ Thank you for another great video! ❤❤
I'm on the other side of Washington state by the Idaho border and yesterday with the wind chill factor it was -28 degrees Fahrenheit and today it was still in the negatives but only like -3ish. I saw we should have higher than normal temps coming in 2 weeks, hopefully that prediction is accurate.
@@becomingsophiesceliaclifeyikes! 😮 That is some bitter temperatures. 🥶 Sounds like you have a bit of Svalbard over there. Stay warm and keep safe!
Christoffer has truly evolved in front of the camera as the soft and kind Teddy Bear 🧸 of the North. ❄️
I live in Des Moines, IA USA and I am enchanted and delighted with you and all you share. You are just so fun and love your life. I also live this way. I am 70 and find delight in just about everything. I wanted to share with you today that when I got up this morning at 6 am - our real temperature was -17F and our wind chill was -43F. So I checked the weather in Svalbard and it said -12 F and -28 wind chill F. We are colder here in the middle of the United States!! I took our dog out this morning and enjoyed the quiet of the 24" of snow we have had over the last 2 days of blizzard and then breathed in that crisp clean air. Poor dog is not used to this cold and I had to rub her feet as they seemed to freeze quite quickly. I would have trouble with your darkness. I do not do well when it is cloudy for weeks on end. I would need to sit in front of a light somewhere. Thank you for your channel. Loved your Christmas podcast with Christopher. We have 15 grandchildren so our home was not so quiet as yours!! Have a wonderful 2024 and don't let those polar bears get you!! I am surprised they are not walking down our street!! Blessings....Marcia Hansen
Good morning from Wyoming, USA! We have been having snow and very cold temperatures. Yesterday it was -36°F with wind chills of -55°F. It’s starting to warm up today, but it’s still going to be below zero for the next few days. I very much enjoy your videos!
Hullo young one. I want to thank you for your skill at filming the night sky and your surroundings. That alone is worth all. However you have done this, and whatever equipment you use -- it is astounding. To see a pure night sky over Svaalbard is quite stunning. Well done. The only time I ever saw such a sky was lying on my back at the south edge of The Grand Canyon where artificial light sources are prohibited. I envy your place in the universe and thank you for your work. Everyone should look up.
I love seeing Christoffer being more involved in front of the camera. He is such a gentle soul!!! You guys are such an amazing couple. Let's not forget about Grim, the fur princess!!!
Yay!! Great to see more of Christoffer - he seems more comfortable. P.S. Absolutely loving the cook books. You guys are top of my Hygge go-to list ☺️☺️☺️
You bring the light on this dark season! Your energy is so sweet and uplifting.
Wow, thank you! 🧡
New subscriber here, I am in awe of your channel. What a delight for you to share your life with all of us. I find it so peaceful hearing you explain your daily activities. And in knowing that you are a REAL person. Your family is so generous to share this with us. Thank you.
Älskar att Christoffer är med mer och kör lite själv också 😄👍
I'm happy to see more of Christoffer on camera, I enjoy everyone's antics- I laughed hard when you were dragging him. As always Svalbard remains a magical place that I hope to visit one day and maybe even meet Grimm. Greetings from WV. ❤
Hi, Christoffer, Cecilia, and Grim! Love seeing and hearing more of Christoffer on the videos.❤ Love being able to see Grim charging around with his light on!❤❤❤
🍁 that was funny I love that when you talked about how your dog goes out Side and sees a reindeer, and Your dog says nope, and then goes back inside
I love the Churchill reference here! Churchill is in my home Province. The Polar Bear Jail in Churchill is to essentially hold the Bears until the ice is developed on Hudson's Bay. Churchill has one of the southernmost populations of Polar Bears in the world and sometimes takes a bit for the ice to develop so while the bears are getting ancy, waiting for the ice, they roam around the Churchill area and can cause some co-existence issues
Not the bears fault by any means, and being a semi-accessible tourist spot the bears can get habituated to being around people unfortunately
I am in the DFW area of North Texas. We are having our winter weather advisory right now…for three days. It is currently 13 degrees but feels like -3 degrees. I know this is warm for y’all but for us this is freezing🥶
I’m in Houston and I thought I don’t know how Cecelia does this cold and colder every day. Lol.
"Catch the darkness" - wonderful!! You guys are so fun to be with!! Thank you for inviting me into your day!!
You can tell by the sound of the snow the day Christoffer was getting the wood, that it was *very* cold that day.
Thank you Christoffer for being in the video more, love it. Love seeing how your daily life’s are.
Grim, the ‘polar night princess’! 👸👑 Love it! It made my cats and I laugh out loud 😻
It’s quite magical where you live, it’s lovely to hear Christoffer talking and engaging more in the videos 😊 xx
Norway is just a different way of life! I just got back from skiing there and it was - 26 degrees and whole families and kids were out in it loved it!
Video idea: Artic gear, absolutely love what you guys wear, would be cool to know what head lamps you prefer or what make/brands for shoes or clothes you normally opt for.
Hugs and greetings from the Bavarian Forrest in Germany. We have small -2 DC. But everything is slippery because of freezing rain and your surroundings are far more beautiful thank ours. It is called "Schneewehe" in German, where you and Christoffer layed so nice and comfortable with Grim outside at the beginning of the video.
Not sure that I fully understand your comment comparing the two areas, but the Bavarian Forest is gorgeous! You are truly blessed to live there. Best regards from Tampa, Florida, USA.
@@joseh3564 Thank you for your friendly comment, I appreciate it. Svalbard is my dream destination
I'm laughing at your sliding down the mountain. You make everything so much fun, Cecilia...like a bright winter sprite. Thank you for brightening my dark winter day in the Netherlands. Cheers and Happy New Year 2024 to you both and Grim, the sleepy one. 😹
Christoffer’s English is so good! I love how more comfortable and confident he is in your videos now
Christoffer is such an mvp!
I love these videos so much but every time I watch your gorgeous shots of you walking up the mountain or driving up the hill on the snowmobile I always picture you guys going up setting up the camera and then going down just to get the shot and I am grateful for your hard work to give us the most incredible visuals.
We had a blizzard here in Nebraska last few days and this morning, it’s currently -15 F so we’re colder! My husky loves it. She also gets nervous when it’s like this. But she wants to stay 24/7 outside.
I’m in Texas and expecting the arctic blast early in the a.m.
Loved it that Christoffer was on camera on his own. He is like my husband, a very calm, sympathetic and loving man.
I’m sitting here watching this whilst shivering. Seems appropriate!
Have you ever mentioned the power grid/power generation situation on Svalbard? It MUST BE robust to ensure few power outages in such extreme weather. In the US, a gust of wind can cause a power outage. Freezing rain can take down power lines. It feels more fragile here in the states. As much as I feel cozy and eternally Christmasy watching your films, there are times (like Christoffer gathering wood) that I think, "I'm way too lazy to put in such hard work in those conditions." 😊
I can’t believe places like this exist it’s so beautiful! Thank you for sharing Cecilia and Christoffer! ❤❤
Are there always so many shooting stars? You live in a magical land. I am so glad you share it with us🌝✨💛💫
I LOVE being in the dark. I lived in Oregon for over 20 years and worked nights so I didn’t even see the small amount of daylight that there was in the winter and it invigorated me. Cozy X’s 9 million.
Chris is one of the coolest gentleman & humble giant. Coolest dude
Always love a good snow storm episode -- it all feels so cozy and is the epitome of winter! I love that you three go out for adventures even in the dark, snowy cold!
It's actually colder in Chicago today (-8 F) than in Svalbard!
But Polar Bears look so cuddly...be safe.❤❤❤
❤️ The Good Wife. Good choice Christoffer. Must be followed by watching The Good Fight
I have never seen more beautiful stars in my life!!! Along with the Aurora lights!!!❤❤❤❤
Are you always so bubbly and funny?
You brighten my day for sure.
Loved seeing Christoffer on camera more.
Grim is such a funny man. I agree with his style. Here in Costa Rica it is hot, not cold, but I step outside and I'm like Grim, no Thanks.
We don't have errant polar bears, but you might see a jaguar or puma out your window.
We are close to the equator, so it gets light at 5am and dark by 6pm every day of the year.
Thanks for another great video. I could almost feel that cold air in my lungs. Wish I had just one long breath again....
Kisses, Grim.
I love that Christoffer was that much part of the vlog 🫶🏻
Grim's lil beeps ❤
We haven’t had snow in our part of North Carolina for several years and I miss it. It’s a bit cold but not like it used to be. You all enjoy your dark days and snow as much as I do watching your videos. Thank you for sharing.
So good.to have Cristoffer on camera!!! Lovely to hear from him.
I never seen him speak a lot in her videos before 😳
This is so comforting. I have seasonal depression, which is especially hard after the lightness and festivity of Christmas. To see you and Christoffer having fun together with the dog, doing chores, and otherwise thriving in Svalbard is a gift of perspective.
Yehhhhh Christoffer narrating more 😊 him and Grim interacting is so cute ❤
Your videos make me smile. I appreciate your positive attitude and the fact that you genuinely find beauty in the dark polar night. It makes me rethink our own weather peculiarities.
Always a treat to have a new video of Cecelia and Christoffer
I love you guys space so cozy. I’m like Christoffer I would like the darkness. You both are the cutest couple. ❤
Nice soft background music. I fully expected Grim to do the AG1 commercial before I realized it is for people. Maybe doggie vitamin people will be contacting you soon, lol. Grim is such a baby. He can perk up anybody's day just by watching him. I just know he smells so good too.😊
Would night vision goggles help you see the polar bears in the darkness? Always look forward to your videos. Blessings from Kansas USA.
The view of the village, from the mountain, was incredible! Thanks for sharing.
The city is so beautiful lit up in background
Great video, thank you! I must share with you that I now make our bed with our comforters folded in half like yours, instead of spread out. Much warmer! I like copying the small things that other people do to make life better. Thank you Cecelia!
I have begun to notice articles on the internet where you, Cecilia, are the interviewee - fantastic!!🎉
Yay, thank you! 😍😍
@@CeciliaBlomdahl it's wonderful to see you're bringing awareness of this amazing place on earth to so many. My observations lead me to believe you are instrumental to this awareness; this, in itself, helps to lessen the ignorance that thrives throughout the planet.
I thank you sincerely for providing this kind of awareness.
-50 where I am this am with windchills in the -55 degrees Celsius. It’s crazy. The air has ice particles. Lots of emergency alerts about the cold. Not going out myself today. It’s going to warm up to minus 30 tomorrow.😂😂
It seems we are all loving Christoffer’s new UA-cam presence! He is a natural. Love seeing him! You are such a kid Cecilia - that hike was soooooo much fun. At 76 - I would not last long - so fun to watch you, Christoffer and Grim enjoy! Thank you for another wonderful video. Perfection! ❤🎉 - I got a little vertigo up on the mountaintop when you were closing in on the ‘edge’!!! 😂
Who said the lack of sun light may trigger some depression not for Cecilia this woman is always as cheerful as jingle bells🎉😊
Watching from South Africa 🇿🇦 with lots of love
Hi from Chicago. It is -23 celcius. Everything is closed. We get cold weather but nothing like you, or Canada! I started watching and I could see so many stars, even falling stars from my computer. It must be beautiful. My dad's side of the family came from SE Norway. Knudsen and no one pronounces it correctly. It is very funny.
Aww, the polar bear might be lonely. He would maybe love to come inside for a cup of tea and crackers. I love bears. A lot.🥰 USA
A clean home is a happy home. 🙂
I really enjoy the music choices you make for your content. So nice thank you for sharing you, Christopher and Grims daily life. I really enjoy.
Great video! Thank you very much Cecilia, Christoffer and Grim for sharing your daily life. ❤⭐️❤️
The Good Wife was such a good show.
I love polar bears .. hope no one hurts them ❤
I’m laying on my couch watching your video with my hot chocolote and my dog by my side sleeping ❤ Milan Italy
Happy Sunday to you Cecilia, Christoffer and Grim.❤❤❤
I have so much respect for you for surviving those dark days. I have suffered from severe SAD my whole life and I can hardly make it through those gray days here when it already gets dark at 3:30pm. Watching you hike through the pitch black makes me so grateful for every second of light I get here.
I cant adequately express just how alien your life is to me, Im living through my 56th Australian summer, last week we topped 40 deg C a couple of times.......in the shade.......your world is beautiful but I couldnt live in it, we complain about our short winters. Ive only seen snow 3 times and had to travel across the continent and then drive for many hours to do so......but I appreciate so much you sharing your world with us.
Your cabin reset days give me so much joy! 😂
I took my tree down on December 26 ~ I had it up for 6 week so I was done with it by then! I always do a major cleaning the week between Christmas & New Year so I can start the new year on a good foot.
