    Jagged Peak Drake isn't supposed to be a double fight. The two drakes are always fighting each other when you get there, and one of the two is much weakers and doesn't have the lightning attacks. It's meant to be a cool cinematic moment where you see dragons fighting each other and then you take on the victor of the two.

      Oh that is super cool! I would probably rank the fight higher now that I know this. Thanks for letting me know!

    every tier list is going to be subjective somewhat but to reduce bias youd have to beat every boss with every build multiple times because some bosses are much harder first time around but become much easier once you learn them while other bosses are just always difficult.

    • @ProfessorMasaki
      @ProfessorMasaki  20 днів тому +1

      I just finished NG+ so I totally understand what you are saying! Some bosses retain some of their difficulty but other become completely fodder once you have beaten them once. Margit the fell omen and morgott were one and dones in my second playthrough when they took me quite a few tries my first playthrough. Maybe I'll comeback after playing the game again and see if my list changes at all thanks for commenting!

    Radahn was ridiculously punishing, which can be frustrating, but the consort of miquella phase was a lot of fun to fight and one of my favorite souls bosses once I learned to read his movements. Only thing I couldn't get down was the 3 hit cross slash combo. I actually feel like my reaction time is physically to slow to read it in time because of how fast it is. I hope Fromsoft adds a little bit more of a windup to the attack in a future patch.

    • @ProfessorMasaki
      @ProfessorMasaki  19 днів тому

      From what I have heard, it isn't your fault. The attack is so fast that to dodge the second swing you HAVE to be light rolling, medium roll doesnt work. Whenever he did that attack on me, it was basically a guaranteed hit. Other than that I had learned to dodge every attack without taking damage by the time I beat him. Loved his fight, thanks for commenting!

    • @manquail2361
      @manquail2361 19 днів тому +1

      I couldn't with light roll. I feel like it'd just kind of happen and I couldn't see it coming fast enough. Even just a 0.3-0.4 second extra wind up would be nice to prepare to try and roll the 1st two slashes.

    • @ProfessorMasaki
      @ProfessorMasaki  18 днів тому +1

      From my experience I was able to dodge it by what seemed to be dumb luck every ten or so times he did it. It is possible it just isn't consistent at all. So you are definitely right

    • @ProfessorMasaki
      @ProfessorMasaki  18 днів тому +1

      Yeah regardless of whether it is possible or not, it is still really really hard to dodge. You basically have to almost preemptively roll in order to dodge it properly which leads to accidental rolls or panic dodges of you aren't careful. That's really the only attack I found myself annoyed with though by the end of the fight.

  • @theskinnyone154
    @theskinnyone154 20 днів тому

    Gaius
    If they fixed that hitbox glitch then I would have loved it so much more. The fact that he freaking floats in the air for a full five seconds before crashing down got a guttural reaction out of me. Also his lore is really cool in the fact that he is an Albanuric and he was next to Radahn in terms of rivals.
    Deathbirds I used to hate but now I love fighting them cause I love seeing how much damage I can deal to them. They are so unbelievably weak to holy damage and if you manage to hit the head you deal dummy damage. So I make it my goal to stack up as many buffs as I can and then use golden epitaph’s ash of war which TRIPLES all holy damage those who live in death take. So I was able to kill it in almost 1 hit with the aspect of the crucible wings. It is just a death bird so it’s nothing crazy.
    I like the Demi human cause it’s literally just yoda lmao and he gets staggered by all my big strength weapons but still nothing crazy
    Dancing lion I hated at first but I grew to love it for its awesome animation style. It moves in such a different way than every other enemy in fromsoft’s catalog (except for things like dancer of the boreal valley) but it was interesting to learn all of the ways I could take advantage of its dancing. Like where I could guard counter as well as just get free hits in during its combos. The thing I HATED about this boss was the lightning. It spawns lighting after every attack and it was so hard to get any hits in for me because the lighting would always put me in a hard knockdown state. Other than that it’s an A tier
    Dude the grab attack of the furnace golem is super funny like “heh heh, flushed em down the turlet” instakill move but that’s just me
    After fighting so many I did find it quite tedious.
    “Not a fan of fighting two enemies at once”. Me too man. It has to be done with precision and deliberate openings. Like with demon prince and oration and smough. NOT like two drakes or godskin duo or the freaking twin gargoyles (i hate these guys with all my heart). I found it interesting that they were fighting from a lore perspective tho
    Dude I could not for the life of me figure out the lamenter’s gimmick. So when I would inevitably get instakilled I would be so confused. It was funny the first time seeing my character break down crying but every time after that was annoying. I eventually found out you can tell which one was real by the color of his cloth from a friend of mine
    Mesmer was the coolest visual boss for me and the most fun to learn. Non of the timings were hard for me to learn either and I found a lot of openings where I could hit him with the AOW on the putredecsence cleaver which made me very happy. I was taken back in fear and happiness during his second phase for how insane it was. I do agree that I feel like he should have been a bit harder but nevertheless still a very fun fight.
    Metyr for me was so cool cause I felt like I had stumbled into something completely different. Huuuuge bloodborne and abrietes vibes from it. It wasn’t hard for me either but it was so cool to see such and otherworldly THING come out of nowhere
    MIDRA MORE LIKE PEAKRA HOLY FRICK THIS WAS SUCH A COOL BOSS FIGHT PERFECTION INCARNATE OMG OMG HE WAS SO COOL I HAD GOOSEBUMPS THE ENTIRE TIME DUDE. The music was peak, the design and buildup was peak, the attacks were peak, the LORE was peak. You are completely right I love this boss so much just from a design standpoint. But the fact that he is also a challenging and fun boss fight tied to a typically annoying status condition is so cool. I fell like I was in bloodborne again for how much I was in awe of this fight.
    I do disagree with the sentiment of him being in the worst part. In terms of storytelling and design it was very intriguing and “what the hell is this place???” Type of vibe. I understand hating on the forced stealth but I loved it cause it added onto the intensity and I had NO idea what I was getting myself into.
    I LOVE the putridecence knight purely because of its music as well as design. What a creative concept with silly looking moves. The fight was a tad bit annoying until I learned I could just jump over all the blue flame tho.
    radahn was easily the hardest of them all and the most excruciating due to the fact that I got him to one hit 3 TIMES and i got killed cause i got greedy but holy cow did it catch me off guard when he started duplicating himself. Loved this one and i sorta agree with your ranking.
    i personally LOVE the Scadutree avatar for the fact that he has such good visual storytelling. the music in it is also some of the most beautiful in the entire dlc.

      Messmer was a cool fight don't get me wrong, loved everything about him but I have a personal connection with the bayle fight because of how awesome the voice actor for igon was. Him getting the last shot was hilarious too me and I just enjoyed the scenery and overall bayle fight. Radahn definitely has bias cause I just love Radahn as a character and am proud that I beat him. I definitely don't discredit anybody who would put messmer at the top, awesome fight. Thanks for commenting!

      @@ProfessorMasaki For me messmer is the only boss in elden ring that can be one of my favorite videogame bosses because he finds the perfect balance between build up, gameplay, and spectacle. To me bayle just feels like all build up and great spectacle but lack of mechanics, and same with radahn. That goes for most of the base game bosses too, which look really cool but have poor fights

    • @ProfessorMasaki
      @ProfessorMasaki  20 днів тому

      After reading this I definitely agree. I would keep Radahn in S tier (cause of my personal bias and love towards the character regardless of how much I hated his fight) but I think I would put messmer in S and Bayle down to A. Thinking back to the fight, it was cool experiencing it for the first time but it wasn't all that special besides the intro to his fight, the buildup to his fight, and his second "phase" starting. So even though the videos already out, I would agree to swap messmer and Bayle.

    Usually, I disagree on most opinions in tier list but you got pretty much everything spot on! I really agree on the S-tier, was giggling like a little girl when I saw Radahn ASWELL as Miquella tbh, don’t get me wrong, ABSOLUTELY HATED the fight and the hundreds of attempts but just the fact that it’s Radahn is chef’s kiss. Nice video!

      I beat the dlc completely summonless besides the quest line for bayle with igon. I completed the base game summonless as well cause I don't really find enjoyment in summoning unless it has lore implications. If I went back and took on sennesax I probably could beat him but I was just too excited for the end of that area. Thanks for commenting

    Writing this after I made the comment. I am so sorry I wrote that much.
    I personally think Midra is a strong competitor to Malenia for my favorite boss in the game. I personally didn't care for a lot of the DLC, I thought most of it was just okay. While I haven't done absolutely everything, and I can't speak on all of it, I have don't most of it, or at least all of the main bosses.
    Midra is absolutely perfect. Fun moveset, awesome dungeon, incredible atmosphere before getting to the dungeon, and the boss design is genuinely the coolest thing I've seen in the game.
    Radahn I can respect, but I really didn't enjoy the fight all that much. The first phase is sick, but the second phase has too many moves that make me feel like I have to dodge them a certain way, rather than having multiple choices of how to play it. That made the 2nd phase feel very repetitive, which got to me after a while.
    Messmer's first phase is S Tier, but his 2nd phase, while cool, I just can't get behind. The snake is really cool the first or second time, but when he's constantly using it as a sort of teleport around the arena, it gets old really fast. If they made it to where he used it less, then I'd appreciate it a LOT more, but it's just too much for me personally.
    Rellana is another near-perfect boss imo. Easily my second favorite. Her moveset is wild, the 2nd phase made me audibly gasp multiple times, and she really feels, to me, like the biggest skill-check in the DLC. She was my 3rd boss, after dancing lion and Blackgaol Knight, and she was the one that made me realize the pain I was in for in the future.
    I sadly did not get to Bayle before starting NG+, because I didn't realize he was there.
    I had a blast with Dancing Lion. I thought the elemental switches were awesome, and it really felt like an epic fight.
    Putrescent Knight, I found myself getting bored after the 2nd attempt, but I beat it on my 3rd, so it wasn't a huge deal. I just didn't care for the moveset. The arena was cool, but the boss just didn't do anything for me.
    Romina... No. I'm glad other people can like her, but no. I don't think her design fits the game. It looks like something I'd see in Diablo or something. The hot pink stuff really just doesn't work imo. The butterflies are cool, but it also feels like they put scarlet rot on her just because they realized they needed a boss that can do rot. She felt out of place, and I didn't really enjoy the fight all that much, so out of the main bosses I've fought, I like her the least.
    Scadutree Avatar actually shocked me with the 3rd phase, was a pain in the ass until I realized the head was weak, then it wasn't too bad. I could do without the thorns.
    Gaius made me genuinely sad. I thought he had some cool stuff going on, but the dodge timing felt really weird, and the one attack where the hog whips its head around it hell if you're right up on him when he does it.
    I'm sure I'm missing a couple big ones, but short opinions on some of the lesser bosses:
    Curseblade: invisibility stuff was cool
    Ghostflame dragons: don't like dragon fights, but Ghostflame is cool.
    Furnace Golem: "I wonder how much damage I do to... Nope."
    Ralva: one of the more fun rune bear fights I've had.
    Jori: actually fuck this fight.
    Blackgaol Knight: cool loot, decent moveset, TOO MUCH POISE.
    Hippo: had to take multiple deep breaths to avoid anger due to immediate ass gaping.
    Idk which black knight it was that I fought, but I thought ig was a really cool fight.
    That's all that I have a specific memory of. I fought rakshasa, but I squished him to death with a hammer, so it wasn't really a fair fight. Sorry again for the long-ass comment.
