People dont seem to understand that the reason you can't use torrent in the Abyssal woods is because the Frenzied Flame can actually KILL torrent, thats why he's afraid.
Not to mention also that the untouchables' only real attack is in the form of a grab, and torrent would completely trivialize them and the "horror" they are supposed to convey
@@Tiktakrdm The village doesnt have any proper frenzy enemies, just people crying a shitload of fire. The tower gives madness, but cant actually damage us physically, so Torrent isnt bothered, whereas the aged ones in the abyssal woods are eldritch-esque things with a good scare factor that (as said earlier) Torrent would be unbothered by. Lore wise, the abyssal woods is an area completely scoured by ff, with frenzy bleeding through the landscape, and includes an enemy that uses the full potential of frenzy, so it makes sense why Torrent (a spirit) is far more afraid in the woods than base game. Not saying it wasn't annoying, I just think I wouldn't have been bothered whatsoever by a lack of Torrent had the area itself actually been fun or had good loot.
@@ArloHodges Doesn't he ride you up an entire mountainside with a huge frenzy eye doing damage to everything at one point? Those three slow enemies in Abyssal Woods was worse than that area?
@@mikeadamson-jj3nd That's the tower. It doesn't do physical frenzy damage which lore wise is probably what Torrent is afraid of, it just gives any humanoid madness. I explained it oddly, mb, but basically it doesn't make much sense lore wise for Torrent to be afraid of the Untouchable ones, it's more gameplay wise to keep the (rather effective) scare factor, and it's more the fact that frenzy has scoured the entire area (which we see in Midra's manse used to be a beautiful place) that Torrent is afraid of, because instead of just an envoy that cannot interact in the form of the madness tower, there is a Lord itself in an area in which there have been 2 Lords of Frenzied Flame (3 if you pick the ending).
I think what really discourages fighting dragons head on is just that their head sometimes feels untouchable. For Midir and Bayle, (Bayle's move shares a lot of similar elements with Midir), they have clearly telegraphed moves that leaves their head vulnerable to attack at the end of it.

@@PenNamed 80 strength, 50 endurance + 25 faith, with jumping power attacks. The pickaxe is probably the best weapon for jumping attacks. We didn't learn anything new about the outer gods, Gloam Eyed Queen and especially Melina. I really hope they just make another dlc to add all this stuff in cos there's so much wasted story. The lore of the dlc is the most disaapointing thing.
i dont know why so many of yall are obsessed with the dead, gloam eyed queen was killed by maliketh to take her rune of death. Im pretty sure Marika is smart enough to take the correct counter measures and ensure she cant get revived (giving her destined death or smthin)
There were a lot of cool figures they could have reintroduced. The gloam eyed gueen as you said, the twin bird (god of death birds). The formless mother, although it makes sense from a lore perspective why we didn't fight her or even find her. Godwyn's physical body would have been really cool to run into. And I also think that's the most disappointed think people felt with radahn. Why was it Radahn and not Godwyn
Only downside to the Rellana fight is that she can do her moon attack near a wall and they don't actually hit the ground then blow up, they just go off without dropping and still combo you
I wish she had a better arena though. A stone box felt kinda plain. If it was something like the spirit of Loretta’s Arena, I would’ve loved it a lot more.
Prutrecent Knight was actually very fun. The dance you do to avoid their attacks is so satisfying. Romina fight is also a lot better than you’re giving it imo
Assassins gambit makes the abyssal woods into a joke. None of the enemies aggro you & you can just run through the foggy area. More people need to know that.
The untouchables were an absolute nightmare, until I learned you can parry them. I eould've loved to know about assassin's gambit the first time went through it
Whole area was disappointing IMO and I don't get the hype. Saw a bunch of messages talking about some unseen, untouchable horror and braced myself for the worst - sprinted all the way to the mansion, never bumped into anything and entire place was empty. Really anti-climactic.
Miquella fkd up not choosing Godefroy as his consort. No Godefroy in the DLC just ruined it entirely. The most mysterious and all powerful character in the whole game and not a word about him anywhere is so sad😢
The Scadutree sentinel was so good because of its theme. Slowly dying and grasping on to the bitter end even blasting light from itself so hard that it fucks itself up is just the dopest boss fight vibe.
The final boss is not prime Radahn, it's prime Miquella. I wish we could have fought a Radahn with actual dialogue and a working brain in a fair duel. Consort Radahn has like 2 gravity attacks 😢
@@ahkosorsomesaykosby9999 not really. prime radahn would have used way more gravity magic and would be bigger. this version with miquella isn't weaker or anything just a different beast.

Yeah, so many people didn't have the chance to fully experience how great that fight was because they went with very broken builds. And I don't blame them, I mean, you can get to her after defeating stronger bosses like Messmer or Bayle. Maybe if she were earlier in the DLC people would aprecciate her more.

His sword should've had a unique moveset, or at least had something like the light greatsword moveset. The base greatswords are painful to use after playing with the light greatswords.
@mihaibmt5936 The sword itself was there to contain the madness, so I'm fine with it not having madness itself. It's just a shame that outside of the AoW It's so boring.
Radahn was awesome, and it answered a bunch of questions in the lore. The fight has a couple issues but I thought the mere notion of fighting Radahn in his prime is brilliant
the cool part of radahn for has always been about Starscourge, him being the conqueror of the stars. We know that he is miquella's brother but the golden order part of lore of radahn isn's the focus for him and tbn its boring. We have plenty of holy bosses. Him being the Starscourge has alwasy been the coolest part of him.
tbh Radahns setting in the base game is way cooler too. There is an entire festivel to kill him, he is holding back the entire starscape, his mind is completely gone because of scarlet rot and still he is using gravity magic to fight and support his horse. In the dlc Miquella revives him and you fight
Bro wanted so hard to avoid being Miquella's consort, he literally learned to master gravity magic, to hold back the stars and stop fate dead in its tracks.
I remember Asmon was excited, happy and pround when he killed Radahn in the base game. He was smiling and telling viewers he does not need sommons. He was so happy. Now he is hidding behind his shield with amazing skills, powered with 64 million runes, and did not have any feelings after killing bosses. Did he abadon more than Miquella to become a god?
@Cund Imo he is the very representation of what ppl see as a bloodborne boss, he's most dangerous moves are usually used when you are literally trying to create distance, when fighting him up and close he's really fun😂
@@senjai77308 just focusing on the fight itself, some of his movies require inconsistently precise dodging, such as his rock attacks from phase 1. For some reason, the only semi consistent way of dodging that one is by rolling to your left SPECIFICALLY, and at a specific set of frames too. Phase 2 is the real problem, phase 1 isn't even that bad. Phase 2 is straight up unfair and is a cluster fuck of visuals.
I actually think fighting Radanh at his prime as a final boss empowered and helped by Miquella is pretty cool and it also makes sense lorewise. My issues with the fight are the fact that he underuse gravitational magic (the moves where he mixes grav. magic with Miquella's gold magic are super cool both visually and thematically but he does only a couple of those), the combos are probably too long and the rays of light poke you a lot even if you dodge the attacks and basically don't let you see anything.
There is also that one attack where he does 2 one sword slashes and 1 both sword slash in which the timing and placement is very strict. It's basically undodgeable, if you dodge the first hit, you have to take the second one.
@@Krulfar The attack came so fast, I had to take the first hit. I dodged into him too whenever i dodged the first hit but still got hit with the second. I finally defeated him after 11 hours.
Consort Radahn being the final boss makes more sense than Godwin, it not only explains why milenia waged a suicidal war on rahdan but it also explains to us why mog was so infatuated with miquella and what miquella and millenia were plotting all along. If they had resurrected godwin it wouldnt have explained why millenia went out of her way to fight rahdan.
I agree, and from what I know the actions that Godwyn took. We know them. He was a good guy, liked by many people, fought dragons and befriended one. Then he died. That’s his whole character. From software could’ve explored more about what he did but they didn’t.
@@Siehtluohcs It would've been so nice to just have a questline that helped us learn more about Godwyn. Or a questline to help Miquella revive him. Or justa questline where we could actually interact with Miquella.
Funny so many people keep talking about Godwyn like he wasn’t the first Demi god to be struck down by the rune of death that permanently kills off the gods 🤣🤣🤣
@@anonisnoone6125 not the mention that when the dlc ended, after killing Consort Radahn all we earn is a memory of Miquella. I’m like “that’s it?” I thought we could at least walk to the gate of divinity and interact with it. Maybe even speak to Miquella in there. But I think we killed him just like how St. Trina wanted
It was explained in base game. The demigods fought over control because the great runes corrupted them. It was already established. Anything else was retconned and the lore was shoehorned into the DLC. Its mid tier writing but yall are in the same mood us Game of thrones fans were in years ago. Subverting expectations isn't always good.
When I killed Radahn I initially didn't know that was the final boss and the game is over. I think that speaks of how little he feels like he should've been the final boss.
Conceptually, Radahn is an amazing boss. Fighting the Red Lion at his peak & prime while a literal golden god rides on his back (pause) is awesome. It’s just the fight that is a bit iffy. The golden particle effects make it difficult to see what’s going on at times. Some moves (like the multi slam attacks or golden explosion follows ups) can be really annoying. And his sheer health & damage output funnels a lot of players into summoning (which makes it even harder) or using meta weapons. I managed to beat him solo after 4 hours (on ng+7) but I think he’s a bit overblown in the difficulty department.
Having radahn show up out of basically nowhere is so unbelievably lazy. A base game boss? When they had so many other cool, new options? I'm so mad at this choice. And I won't even get into the difficulty.

Imagine if for the final boss of the Ringed City, instead of the Gael fight that we got, Pontiff Sulyvahn randomly showed back up, and halfway through the fight, Gael decided he wanted a piggy back ride. That's what it felt like seeing Radahn again.

I always think that these types of videos are almost like a psychological study, on the level of a Rorschach test. Your answers tell more about yourself than anything else. We all have a very different way of thinking about this stuff and I find the answers and reasoning very interesting. The answers depend so much on your playthrough, your build, what you value and don't value in your experience, etc.
Pretty good ranking. Scadutree avatar is lowkey S tier cause it’s so fun jumping around over its attacks but I don’t think Asmon could even jump with his build so I’m not gonna blame him for that 😂

@@artorias6969 it is not, it needs the very last moment. and still you might be hit by the pigs rear hitbox. The only efficient way is with light roll.
I a hundred percent agree with the Radahn reasoning. I think a version of Zombie Godwyn piloted by the spirit of Miquella or something along those lines would have been far more satisfying. It also would have just scratched that itch of potentially getting more information about Godwyn and added a sense of completion for getting to fight all of Marika's children in some form or another.
Radahn, while a very cool reveal and ties up some lore questions immediately lost the coolness factor once the fight started and progressed into the second phase. I desperately tried to beat him with the build I had, with max Scadu and Spirit Ash levels but after several hours across 2 days I just couldn't take it and felt the need to respec into a holy negating greatshield build to even beat him. He is an extremely hard boss, the ONLY boss in the DLC I can say is overtuned which tends to unnecessarily funnel people into greatshield bleed builds to beat. Not to mention the visibility issues during the second phase with Miquella's abilities, it very quickly became a boss that just wasn't fun to beat. Radahn for me gets two different rankings, S tier for impact reveal and lore but low C to high D tier for the fight itself and the enjoyment of it.
I ended up beating him with just a pretty average claymore biuld in one day. Dont get me wrong he aint no pushover thats for damn sure, but the whole "learn moveset, learn to dodge it, learn attack opportunites" is how ive always played these games, and radahn seems to demand this exact playstyle so it worked out for me
Opinions are opinions but I was hyped af when I saw it was Radahn.. Someone I had slayed in a pitiful state has come back at their rumored full power that we never got to fight and was already one of the coolest fights in the game for me. So I disagree radahn fight is one of the coolest lore wise and just in general it looked amazing only topped by the camera cinematic in the mesmer fight for me with the snakes.. The way the camera moved was awesome.
but radahn was underwhelming for me, the only reason he was tough was because miquella joined in with his light attacks and not him being in prime form.
He gets really annoying with his constant barrage of attacks that dont let you breath for a second. While i love that we are fighting prime radhan, i dont think he should have been the final boss, i dont understand the lore so im still confused how radhan is revived
@@HavelGotCakeI will agree the cross slash combo is bullshit and the visuals can be much in phase 2. yeah i dont like dragons in elden ring , they all have the same moveset and basically you deal with them the same way , with the exception of special dragons like Plasidusax and Bayle and maybe Fortissax .
The story line around Miquella using Mohg to get to the land of shadow and then taking his body to use as a vessel made me think the whole time I was going to get some crazy blood and holy Mohg possessed by Miquella. I was disappointed and confused to see Radahn. I definitely forgot that he was making the body of Mohg his consort but I'd still like to see something other than Radahn.
@@Khann_2102 Yeah Godwin is the ONE character that will never return and has no expanding lore. His death was so 'real' in a sense that even his lore stops after he died.
I also think it’s weird that Miquella forced radahn to be his consort. Lore wise, Miquella achieved Griffith status for sure. However the consort thing was weird and second phase is hard for all the wrong reasons.
Asmon and people in the comments saying that Messmer and "a lot of bosses" input read your attacks mid combo is such rampant copium lol. They continue based on your position relative to them and (obviously) the attack chain they started.
I think the final boss should have been "John, EldenRing". A humanoid roughly the size of Radahn (maybe a bit shorter), who wields a huge ring half his size as a weapon. He would have a charge attack where he rides his ring by running on top of it. He would use it as a hammer but add some off-hand fist attacks into the mix. Maybe he would use his ring as a boost to do a spin attack from the air (like he smashes downward with the ring and then propels himself into the air to make a spin and hit with the ring again). In his second phase he would start by splitting his ring into two thinner ones and using a new moveset consisting of classing dual-wield attacks, "throw one -> close up with another" kinds of closers, charge attack when he rolls to you on his rings in a T-pose. To make it more visually impressive he could use attacks like "throw one ring and hit it with another to create a sonic shockwave which would hit the player". His smaller ring could be bouncing off the player in certain combos (like he would simply throw the ring into you or throw it spinning or something else) which would allow the boss for faster combos and overall higher tempo of the fight.
Realistically the final fight is against miquella. Being a manipulator is integral to miquellas character and strength. To create a new erdtree is to inherit how this worlds reincarnation functions. Miquellas shadow realm is them standing behind everyone they have manipulated and recycled into their artificial kingdom. The strongest victim was radahn so he was made a lord then used as a tool to stop the tarnished. My personal theory is that radahn being targeted by miquella wasn't simply a utilitarian matter. Rather I think miquella felt threatened by a man who had the strength to halt the stars. Perhaps that was how he avoided being used by miquella in the first place. Radahn was likely assaulted for his defiance of miquellas order. The lands between might have been completely consumed by the shadow of the erdtree were it not for radahns resistance. The fact that morgott calls radahn a traitor states that he did not uphold the golden order duting the shattering. Bro was actually fighting everyone; probably for the sake of his soldiers. Of course miquella would see that as antithetical to his order where "everyone is kind to one another".
Miquella's ultimate goal is to revive Godwyn, but to do so there needs to be an eclipse (stated in the lore). However since Radahn was holding back the starts, there couldn't have been an eclise. So Miquella sent Malenia to kill Radahn, but he ain't having it. Fast-forward years of Radahn's fighting festival, We (the player) come around and clap him in a grandiose fight, essentially aiding Miquella in his plan. We then clap Miquella's Mogh-Radahn, supposedly putting an end to his plans. Considering Miquella is a YUGE manipulator it wouldn't surprise me if he had some hidden backup plans
@@sebleonard8273 That was not his ultimate goal at all. his ultimate goal is to become a god and usher in age of plenty/compassion. Giving Godwyn true death is one of things he tried to attempt. i dont think you really grasp the lore
This might be an unpopular opinion but IMHO prime Radahn as the final boss makes total sense lore wise[1] and it's DOPE AF! Despite a couple of bullshit moves[2] he is one of my favorite bosses in the DLC alongside Messmer and Bayle (with Igon summon of course). I don't think Asmon made it justice to the Radahn fight with that bullshit build of his. He turned the fight from an epic fight against prime god Radahn into a block poking simulator. Despite my comments about some moves the fight is an awesome skill check (depending on your build of course :D). [1] - Not only in SOTE but in the base game as well as others have pointed out. [2] - The combo that starts with the left hand, double slash into twin sword cut, which is almost impossible to dodge the second hit unless you have equipped the Fine Crucible Feather Talisman (btw this thing is awesome, it changes the movement game completely) and do a backstep into roll x2 to avoid the last 2 attacks. The talisman makes it not so much bullshit but very annoying because you need to be fast either way even with the talisman. The other bullshit move is the fucking AOE in phase 2 where if you miss one second from running away you're fucked. I think that move timing and area is complete bullshit and is there for spectacle.
dude was killed by destined death. if you can revive someone that died from something called destined death, why tf is it even called that? godwyns purpose of the story is to die and trigger the shattering. you could still argue that godwyns soul only died and body is alive. but in the end its radahns soul that will be inside godwyns body, so it will still be the consort radahn fight we fought
@@anukthotawatta982 I hated the fact that I had to fight Radahn a second time and his fight was a massive let down too. I was expecting crazy gravity magic, but instead he threw 2 gravity attacks + everything else in the fight. I would rather fight Godwyn instead of fighting Radahn a second time. Plus, that fight was bullshit because you can't see shit for 1 or 2 of his attacks. Overall, just lazy writing for the lore and a massive DLC final boss let down. Everything else in the DLC was amazing though.
I personally think the lore aspect of Radahn was the best thing about that fight. The things that felt like a let down for me were: the absence of Miquella as an actual enemy (could easily have done a Friede and Ariandel type deal which would have been far more fun). Even at 20 Scadutree level, it feels like he hits just a bit too hard and is just a bit too resistant (minor complaint). Overall, I think there is too big a disparity between his really well telegraphed moves which are practically impossible not to dodge and the almost instantaneous slices he can pull out his backside. The biggest issue, however, is as Asmongold said: the sheer amount of ridiculous, blinding AOE in the second phase. It punishes you for having learnt a decent dodge pattern in the first phase if you weren't clairvoyant enough to know exactly how you were supposed to position for the second phase. The lights completely disguised what were generally well telegraphed attacks. It happens way too early in the fight as well. For me, it was my least favourite fight of the DLC and the biggest let down when compared to the solid end game DLC bosses we are used to from the franchise.
I’m willing to defend the Radahn fight to a certain degree, but the complaints about the sheer overstimulation of light is kinda justifiable. If it was one or two follow up light effects instead of like seven pillars of light, I think people would’ve enjoyed it a lot better. But lore-wise, Radahn was the only option for revival, as he was the only one whose soul wasn’t destroyed or had some affliction. It was Radahn soul fused with Mohg’s body. If the story was to revive Godwyn, it still would’ve been Radahn’s soul, just now in Godwyn’s body. But his body was already transformed into that merman like state and his soul annihilated by the rune of death. He wouldn’t fit in Miquella’s plan. The only figure in the Lands Between who would’ve worked, was Radahn, and Mohg was the only living demigod without a physical impairment or affliction caused by an Outer God. - Rykard is part of the God Devouring Serpent. - Ranni is guided by the Dark Moon. - Rennala is still alive but has lost her mind. - Godwyn’s soul was destroyed and his body warped into a slumbering monster. - Malenia is eternally afflicted by the Outer God if Rot, Unalloyed Gold can hold off the affliction for so long. - Morgott was turned into Grace. - Messmer is still alive but is protected by his flames and serpent. - Melina has already (potentially) reduced her body to ash as kindling. - Godrick’s body was grafted, his blood and everything about him was too weak to actually serve as his consort. - Mohg’s only connection to the Formless Mother is through his spear, not anything with his body. After dying, his body becomes the only vessel capable of binding to Radahn’s soul as a fellow demigod while also keeping its strings as Miquella’s puppet. Miquella’s only choice WAS Radahn and Mohg. And he needed a consort capable of enforcing his will and driving away the Outer Gods, a feat only accomplished by Miquella himself, and Radahn. Radahn was the puppet he needed most, and trapping his soul to a body already charmed by him, just let him have the piece he needed to fulfill his ambition, the ultimate enforcer of his soon-to-be divine will. Even if the DLC did revive Godwyn with Radahn’s soul… do you really think the TWO STRONGEST DEMIGODS fused together, incarnated in their new combined prime, would be an “easier” boss fight than Radahn with occasional Bloodflame? Because that would be Radahn with Golden Lightning, Ancient Dragon Lightning, AND Deathblight. Radahn “works” because he’s the most important piece in Miquella’s grand plan, Freyja and Ansbach were even hesitant and against what happened to their respective lord, the two are imprisoned at Miquella’s thrall. But if take down Radahn and free them both, Miquella’s entire plan falls apart and can’t be recreated. The Tarnished is set to become Elden Lord, and Miquella has no means to combat them, nor any pieces left to counter them and their journey. He sacrificed everything for the ultimate trump card, but if we beat it, he has nothing left. And the entire DLC is just about stopping Miquella. And again, this isn’t exactly Radahn in his prime, it’s an incarnation of Radahn in its prime. If you put Bruce Lee in the body of an average martial artist, it doesn’t make that person “Bruce Lee”, its someone with Bruce Lee’s soul in a body not as honed, refined, or as developed as Bruce Lee’s in his prime. But I would love it if there was one more DLC for Godwyn and the Godskins’ Gloam Eyed Queen and some extra detail about the red spear that pierced Marika. Also, were used to having great fights and/or figures teased, but nothing getting released… *_*cough cough Tomoe and Ocelot cough_* TL;DR I get the frustrations with the final boss, I personally love it though, but lore-wise, it really was the only way, anything else wouldn’t have worked or would have been even more of a nightmare than what we got.
You make great points and I completely get what you're saying. I think my personal issue is that did it didn't HAVE to be written the way it was from the start. Yes, Radahn makes sense. I get the whole "Miquella loved Radahn, the consort thing was planned from the start with Malenia whispering it to Radahn during their fight" but if it was written, from the get-go, in a way that had Radahn come back at the end, that kinda disappoints me. I dunno man, it's your story. Make up some shit about Miquella using some special super duper magic sauce, that defies destined death, to bring back Godwyn. (I'm not gonna comment on the difficulty of a Godwyn fight because that's just pure speculation, coulds/woulds) It's a magical fantasy world where you can have 2 beings with the same body somehow produce offspring along with plenty of other wild stuff. Make some other shit up.

Like all that pre-dlc lore with the eclipse and referential narrative regarding the fact that clearly there was an attachment to Godwin specifically depicted by statue at the haligtree like it almost feels like they just sort of arbitrarily made it radahn to make malenias attack make sense which I mean idk maybe Vaati can help me connect it back to radahn but it just seems wrong
Godwyn would never fight u cos he's dead. His soul is gone. Only his body lives. But I really wish there was a quest line to help Miquella ressurect Godwyn since that was such a prominant piece of the lore. Miquella was just completely wasted. They fumbled him so bad.
@anonisnoone6125 Does it say in the lore that he cannot be resurrected? Miquella is smart he wouldn't have tried to bring him back if he knew that it's impossible, the eclipse ritual failed because of radahn stoping the stars that would explain why malenia was sent to kill him, something must've been retconed for the dlc, no way they made so many connections for miquella and godwyn in the base game for nothing.
If Miquella was smart he would have won. Miquella has failed at everything and tries to do the impossible cuz he's a child who just doesn't accept how the world works. Godwyn is dead, let it go.
Promised consort is incredible but i felt like that boss, more than any other boss in a souls game, forced me to use a specific build, not even changing damage type, it made me use spear and great shield. But I love all the lore NPC summons they had for every bossfights, like the Hornsent against Messmer, Igor against Bayle, and the Mohg follower against promised consort, they all had unique dialogue and it was awesome. I think this DLC is the strongest story fromsoft has every told in one of these games in terms of storytelling, because I was actually able to understand what was going on and the whole party of NPCs you’re sent in with are awesome. Bloodborne is still my favorite story, but the way the constructed the narrative for this DLC was really compelling and easy to follow. I loved that penultimate fight against all the Miquella loyalists, the dialogue was great, and the Mohg follower summon you could have tag along might be one of my all time favorite NPCs in any souls game. I loved this DLC. 10/10.

@@bigsmall2842 agreed and also if you get hit at the start of long or even medium length combo in 2nd phase you're just done completely cause you are now dodging not only his hits but also the lightning attacks, and you can't dodge both, i beat it with bhf with no use of ash of war and it took me 9 hours , hardest fromsoft boss by far, malenia took me 4-5 hours for example, but she was fun like you said, 2nd phase just felt pure rng win ngl
Radahn fight was insanely hard but super satisfying to kill after learning which moves could be parried. Overall kinda sucked being radahn again but it is what it is
I would put Jagged Peak Drake higher. It shares some of the same moves as Bayle, so it sort of teaches them to you before you even enter the Bayle fight.
Exactly!! And Pillar of Light from 2nd phase is LITERALLY UNDODGEABLE IF YOU’RE 1 SECOND LATE RUNNING WHEN HE STARTS THE TELEGRAPH ive never seen such terrible boss design, this is like CODE VEIN levels of bad! ALSO, Gaius has a charge hitbox that WITHOUT BLOODHOUND STEP, REQUIRES 1 FRAME PERFECT EXECUTION DODGEROLL INTO HIM TO get out! Really?! You have to be fuckin PERFECT, while dealing 1/50th of the Boss’s health per hit while if you fuck up once you’re gonna get 1 or 2 shot!!! All that being said, still one of the better dlcs, doesnt top Ringed City from DS3. But for the price? Dude its a full on seperate game averaging 40 hours to beat
@@pablojosediablo Peak shitty boss design in the Elden Ring DLC is the Golden Hippo and Senasax. Personally my favorite souls like is DS3 and Gael is by far my favorite boss.
I wish radahn had a 3 phase fight where the difficulty was spread out more tho. As it is now it feels like it goes from 0 to 100. Also a third middle phase could explore radahns' gravity powers and mohg powers more since he barely uses them
I don't think Radahn is close to one of the best designed bosses, but I found a strategy that worked for the fight and didn't feel cheesy so I enjoyed it a lot.
Why do you think that? I think he is really good minus his one, two, cross attack. I think the beams of light are a super fun way of making players not only have good dodge timing but also positioning. I feel like he's the definition of hard but fair.
@@TheZubaz hard agree, fight was extremely punishing and overwhelming at first. But once you get his attack patterns down and kill him it felt so damn good.
@@kyle6173idk I just ended up using a shield build because it just felt like a mod tbh. Like I love hard bosses but I don't like when they are unfair.
About the final boss thing Asmon said - It couldnt be Godwyn because his soul is destroyed. Elden Beast turned Radagon into that weapon of his, so since Marika and Redagon are one entity it couldnt be Marika. Radahn seems the only logical choice for Miquella to resurrect. Morgott calls all the demi gods traitors including Radahn, the others i can understand but Radahn i always wondered the reason (There is also a picture of Morgott fighting someone looking like Radahn in the game intro video). Maybe like Miquella, Radahn also had his doubts about the greater will and thats why he chose him as his consort?
Radahn is easy F tier. Hard for all the wrong reasons. I am talking about phase B apparently. As a spectacle, it was amazing lore wise, I always wanted to see a Radahn in his prime but I admit it could have been an other big player in the firm. I also loved the hug mechanic of phase 2, readable but can catch you if you do not pay attention. Rest of the bosses I mostly agree. I would rank Putrescent Knight higher probably.
My biggest problem with Consort Radahn is that his prime self doesn’t feel like his true prime at all. He has a couple gravity attacks which are cool, but I think they actually number less than the ones he had as General. The boss gets scale and stuff from the second phase, but again, that’s all Miquella. Maybe if in second phase it was a combination of insane gravity attacks akin to Miquella’s holy attacks which would alternate back and forth between the two, very similar to the Lion Dance fight, my itch would be completely scratched, but in my experience I was let down like many others to see this iteration of Radahn
A fact that ppl forget is that Miquella totally dumped Malenia, didnt try to help her rot situation after becoming a god, waiting for radahn... just killed the character right there
What ? Miquella only becomes a God when you fight him. Plus it would hardly make sense, as you can kill Malenia before you fight Miquella, so what happens if you do end up killing her and he "heals" her ?
facts i was 100% sure that miquella was the only saint/nice demi god in this game yet just to see his ass do that shit while leaving malenia in the dumps was just a turn off like how tf did Mogh beat the allegations XD
@@chadikhr7258 well his journey started off with good intentions but he had to strip away a lot of parts of himself to achieve godhood and one of those parts was his love/compassion (st trina his other half) so what started out as him trying to make the world a better place for his family and friends turned into "the ends justify the means" and he ended up wanting this whole "make the world a gentler place" idea, no matter the cost.
Asmon didn’t even see half of these bosses movesets because he played the game like a fucking bot. I wish he wouldn’t be so stubborn and just try to learn the attack patterns. The game really isn’t that hard, and once you get the feel for a boss, it’s pure euphoria
I see what you mean for the Radahn ranking, but me personally I found it very cool I know a lot of people wished to see prime Radahn pre-dlc, so maybe that’s why they went with it, but either way I think it was cool and he looks super badass Also I think they went with Radahn because the dlc can be played mid game and isn’t necessarily supposed to be an endgame section. It also makes sense considering how you have to kill base game Radahn to get to Mogh, and kill Mogh to get to Miquella’s body (enter the dlc). So to round it off, the final boss is Prime Radahn with Miquella powering him up. It fulfills that plot line of Mogh, Miquella, Radahn, and Malenia.
All I can say is *"Those stripped of grace of gold shall all meet death. In the embrace of Messmer's flame."*

But you can ride him in the Village of Frenzied Flame? 🤷♂️

Don’t know if he’s mentally at his peak while being mind controlled, and getting back shots from his step brother
Having radahn show up out of basically nowhere is so unbelievably lazy. A base game boss? When they had so many other cool, new options? I'm so mad at this choice. And I won't even get into the difficulty.

One the best parts is not even a boss fight is the npcs boss fight before the Radahn, is so fucking cool and the music hits hard in the heart.
Dont get me wrong he aint no pushover thats for damn sure, but the whole "learn moveset, learn to dodge it, learn attack opportunites" is how ive always played these games, and radahn seems to demand this exact playstyle so it worked out for me
An edit of this that had b-roll clips of him fighting the boss hes talking about would go hard
I cant remember what half these goofs look like
Opinions are opinions but I was hyped af when I saw it was Radahn.. The way the camera moved was awesome.
this! radahn is the best thing they gave us. at full power. so good :)
but radahn was underwhelming for me, the only reason he was tough was because miquella joined in with his light attacks and not him being in prime form.
Full power is Miquella helping him? I like phase 1 and would give it A Tier but phase 2 makes him d tier
However every other attack he has not only has counter play, but a lot of them can be punished with an ash or a charged heavy. Helps that almost everything misses or becomes easier to dodge if you're strafing or dodging in to the left
yeah i dont like dragons in elden ring , they all have the same moveset and basically you deal with them the same way , with the exception of special dragons like Plasidusax and Bayle and maybe Fortissax .
Same, I wished to see Godwyn but his soul is pretty much erased
Mohg is already in the game twice
So you would like Mohg a 3rd time but not Radahn a 2nd. Got it

@@achmahnsch Yep
I also think it’s weird that Miquella forced radahn to be his consort. Lore wise, Miquella achieved Griffith status for sure. However the consort thing was weird and second phase is hard for all the wrong reasons.
I trust this tier list because he was able to analyze every boss seamlessly behind a shield 😌.
Asmon and people in the comments saying that Messmer and "a lot of bosses" input read your attacks mid combo is such rampant copium lol. They continue based on your position relative to them and (obviously) the attack chain they started.
Furnace golems are like erdtree avatars, crystal tear pinatas
That's some good weed 👌
@@sebleonard8273 I hadn't made the eclipse connection yet. Thanks for adding some context for me!
@@sebleonard8273 Too bad there wasn't a choice/ending where We get to become Miquella's consort.

Imagine if the final boss had a phase 3… where Radahan gets on top of Bayle.
Igon shows up “CURSE YOU BAYLE!”
True, Godwyn should have been the final boss. If was Miquella i would have choosen him as my consort, he's much hotter and daddier in every way 😂
dude was killed by destined death. if you can revive someone that died from something called destined death, why tf is it even called that?
godwyns purpose of the story is to die and trigger the shattering.
you could still argue that godwyns soul only died and body is alive. but in the end its radahns soul that will be inside godwyns body, so it will still be the consort radahn fight we fought
Asmond isn’t entitled to an opinion. He cheesed through the entire dlc after he cried on stream.

@@jonathanvilleneuve4211 Yeah, the last boss is S tier, It's just too good
if a boss can be easily cheesed that automatically makes it a worse boss.
I’m happy you’re on the same page about Radanh.
Also, were used to having great fights and/or figures teased, but nothing getting released… *_*cough cough Tomoe and Ocelot cough_*
TL;DR
I get the frustrations with the final boss, I personally love it though, but lore-wise, it really was the only way, anything else wouldn’t have worked or would have been even more of a nightmare than what we got.
What does 'soul' means in the context of Elden Ring anyway?
You make great points and I completely get what you're saying. I think my personal issue is that did it didn't HAVE to be written the way it was from the start. Yes, Radahn makes sense. I get the whole "Miquella loved Radahn, the consort thing was planned from the start with Malenia whispering it to Radahn during their fight" but if it was written, from the get-go, in a way that had Radahn come back at the end, that kinda disappoints me.
I dunno man, it's your story. Make up some shit about Miquella using some special super duper magic sauce, that defies destined death, to bring back Godwyn. (I'm not gonna comment on the difficulty of a Godwyn fight because that's just pure speculation, coulds/woulds)
It's a magical fantasy world where you can have 2 beings with the same body somehow produce offspring along with plenty of other wild stuff. Make some other shit up.

Tbf, the ancient dragon boss is done like that, to prevent and encourage the player not to kill him. She is linked with the priestess of the drago communion, and has a quest linked to the one of Igon and to the fluid that Thiollier gives you. This quest is incredibly important, cause it gives a huge faith reducing spell that is extremely helpful against Radahn.
Tbh I was just confused how the last boss WASNT Godwin the golden.
Don’t get me wrong though not gonna complain about seeing prime radahn I just think it would have been way cooler if it was Godwin
totally agree

It's not meant to be his prime self. He's more like a puppet in this fight and it's not even his body.
Midra was my favorite fight in the DLC, fantastic music, felt like an old souls boss and seeing the influence of the Frenzy Flame is dope.
I see what you mean for the Radahn ranking, but me personally I found it very cool
I know a lot of people wished to see prime Radahn pre-dlc, so maybe that’s why they went with it, but either way I think it was cool and he looks super badass
Also I think they went with Radahn because the dlc can be played mid game and isn’t necessarily supposed to be an endgame section.
Romina getting no love. She was high A, low S for me.
