Thank you for including weight measurements in your recipe! A cup of flour is not just a cup of flour - it depends on how densely packed it is. And a ml indication on the water PLUS an oven temperature in Celsius?? This European is DEFINITELY going to try this delicious recipe! Thank you so much! ❤
Flour should NEVER be ‘densely packed’…NEVER! Loosely spoon flour into your DRY (non-liquid) measuring cup and leveled with the straight-edge of a butter knife. BROWN SUGAR IS WHAT’S DENSELY PACKED INTO A DRY MEASURING CUP; packed down with your fingers. LOOSELY SPOON IN FLOUR; NEVER DENSELY PACK IN FLOUR!!! 😉
In a bowl, add: •2 1/2 cups lukewarm water •7g yeast •2 tsp honey mix and set aside 5min. in another bowl, add: •5 cups white flour •2tsp salt pour yeast mixture into flour, stir until all the flour chunks are gone. in another bowl, add 4tbsp olive oil, coat the dough in the oil. cover the bowl and put in the fridge for 24hrs. deflate the dough and shape it into a ball. set it on a greased pan, and slightly stretchout the dough. let it rise in a warm spot for 4 hours. dimple the dough and add toppings of choice, with lots of oil. bake for 20min at 200°c (~395°f)
This recipe is perfect. Every step turns out just like in the video. The crumb of this bread is also incredible. I am not a bread baker normally, but I saw this video and jumped up to make it. It was that easy. Thank you! I've already shared with a friend and we are in awe!
I made this bread and the garlic confit. I used organic bakers flour instead and i put olives, garlic, rosemary, salt and bocconcini on the bread. I was so worried that the bread wouldn’t come out like this because of how sticky the dough was. But it was the best and first bread I’ve ever made. My mum had to break her diet just to have this bread, it was crunchy on the outside but moist, airy and soft on the inside. I brought it over to my grandparents house and they loved it SOOO much. My nanna she couldn’t get enough of it. It’s really yummy when you drizzle the garlic confit oil on the bread and sprinkle a bit of salt on top or used the roasted garlic cloves to make your own organic garlic butter on toasted focaccia. Thank you Daen. ❤
If you like onions slice them in a mandolin medium which is thin slices on mine. I add fresh oregano or thyme, mini sweet tomatoes press them in the dough & top it with alot of onion slices and bake. Makes the focaccia flavor so different & amazing! For those that are daring add a few anchovies! Press them in the dough, too! 😋👍🏻
My niece who was 19, made a gorgeous and delicious focaccia last Thanksgiving. I always knew she liked to bake, but I had no idea she made bread too. It was to die for.
P.s if you put olive and balsamic on a flat dish, when you dip the bread it'll soak up both. If you have it in a bowl like that the balsamic will sink to the bottom and the olive oil will coat the bread before it reaches the balsamic.
@@ColtonmillEnghland just look the recipe up here on UA-cam, you'll have multiple recipes and go with the one you like best, I've already made it a few times and it always turns out good.
Before anyone criticises the amount of olive oil, can I just say on megaphone: olive oil is *healthy* And yes, even high amounts In a famous clinical trial they got people to consume at *least* 50mL a day (which is like consuming an average-sized bottle in ten days, it’s a LOT) And they all had significantly *lower* risk of cardiovascular disease, and better metabolic markers For some reason, savoury cooking channels always get these bad takes. But a baking channel which uses a ton of sugar (which is *terrible* for you) never gets these comments
@@TheBustthebossit’s not that simple, a lot of people don’t know that there are different types of fats, olive oil contains monounsaturated fats, which are healthier fats, but a lot of other products, both animal and vegetable, contains mostly saturated fats, that in moderate quantities are ok, but in larger quantities increases the cholesterol, that can be a major risk for coronary and cardiovascular diseases.
I just made it and want to say THANK YOU!! This is a minimum fuss recipe, for everyone who doesn't like complicated recipes. I followed all the steps (waited 20 hours for the dough to rise because of a time crunch) and it turned out perfect. Do yourself a favour and make it!😊😊
Did you use a digital scale to measure or just normal tools? Also did you change anything about the recipe? I really want to try making this but I might have to switch some things like use all purpose flour instead and I'm afraid it might not be the same.
@@NovaaTheGreat I don't measure ever..too lazy lol. I kind of eyeball it and it turns out perfect every time. The only time I didn't like the result was when I used whole wheat flour. Also, I don't wait 20+ hours anymore. I wait like 1-3 hours.

Came out excellent but.... I kept the dough for 4 hours in warm oven and 2 hours on baking dish. Used double portion to make 2 focaccias. Over one I put sundried tomatoes pesto and on the other one basil pesto. 22min 200C. Delicious!!!

This recipe is absolutely incredible. The bread came out excellent, to minimize some of the work you can use a dough hook on a stand mixer. Another thing make sure that the garlic is pre roasted in oil, if not you will get hard clumps of garlic.
