Renner is all I use. It's water based but a totally different product then latex paint. Where latex takes 30 days to cure completely this product can not only be 2nd coated in 1 hr,it can be stacked for transport in 4 hrs. Thanks for explaining the product!! I learned more than anyone else has explained it.

When refinishing Oak cabinets with the Renner line, do you use filler on the grain?

I was told that after putting crosslinker in the paint it can still be used over night but crosslinker will not be active anymore so you will need to add more. So you can use the paint again and not have to throw away This was from a rep

I wonder if you can direst me to the correct stain/ sealer for my kitchen cabinets that we are having installed. They are in white oak but the cabinet maker says that they are going to use a Benjamin Moore stain on them. I hear that this type of stain for one will not hold up well over time on kitchen cabinets and two, these types of stain will yellow or amber the wood making it look like a 90’s kitchen which is not the look we are going for. I hear that Renner products are better suited kitchens and would like to know if you can suggest something that will keep the natural color of the cabinets very light/ modern looking and with the added protection. Thank you

I see that this video is a couple of years old, so I'm hoping I get a reply back 😅.. where can I find Renner ? I'm in the St. Louis MO area. I have a small painting business, and usually do 3 or 4 kitchens a year. I've always used sirca products in the past but I can't get that product any longer. Now, I've been pushing in the direction of doing more kitchen cabinets and fine finishing projects and I hear great things about Renner.. just don't know where to find it. I don't think anywhere in the St Louis area has a distributor. Can you point me in the right direction ? Thanks 🙏🏼

Just bought and used for the first time the 851 product w/catalyst and love it. I've looked everywhere for the answer to my question and can't find it so I'll ask here. I catalyzed it at 10%. I needed to use about 20 oz of product for spraying, so is the ratio 18 oz of 851 to 2 oz of catalyst for a total of 20 oz, or is it 20 oz of 851 plus 2 oz of catalyst for a total of 22 oz? Or am I way over thinking this? To me the statement of 10% catalyst is the same as a 9:1 ratio.

    • @michaelmorano8341

You can look up the tech sheet but I spray 851 all the time and for example I would do this:
      20oz cup size
      16 oz 851
      10% catalyst = 1.6oz (roughly)
      10% thin with water= 17.6oz total + 1.76oz
Total in 20 oz cup is: 19.36 (roughly)
I try to be as accurate as I can but I don’t use any fancy measuring by weight or anything like that. I simply eye ball it and my finish is always phenomenal with 851. Make sure you’re spraying at lest 4mils and it sets up perfectly flat. Hope that helps

Thank you for the reply on the ratio and the thickness. This stuff does have incredible hang. I way over applied this vertical area on a trim piece and was certain it would sag or run; nothing but a beautiful finish.@@michaelmorano8341

    • @finefinishsupply

No, they are all waterborne industrial woodcoatings. Significantly higher in solids, more durable and none yellowing.
