Kung Fu is not about fighting, it is all about being close to nature and all the moves are inspires by animals. It is about the chi-energy, the positive energies of nature, that everyone has inside. It is about harmony, both mentally and physically.
The Chinese and the Native Americans know all about this; it's the same people. But only the Chinese are left to preserve it. And they do!
Best wishes from Linda in Norway, with a Chinese husband.

I dont see why everyone asks why they learn it. Its a way to live life and it makes them feel great. When are you ever going to use video games and youtube in a "real situation". Those who ask what the point is are either sarcastic or ignorant.

untrue most other fighting styles are based around fighting but this is not they train to always keep calm in situations so they do not forget there training.they build up massive streghnth like no other and tremendiouse speed as well. this making them amazing fighters.

It's not about whether meat is bad to your own body or not. It's because buddha said not to kill in order to satisfy your own taste buds. It's about taking lifes. Shaolin monks eat vegetarian food even though their training is tough

We're disciplined. We're disciplined to BUY things, we're disciplined to WASTE, we're disciplined to CONSUME. We're disciplined to LIVE DISTRACTED LIVES. It's just a matter of what kind of discipline is being taught in the environment you live in.

The only accurate sound effect is the swords around 5:30. Those swords are a really thin metal and are made so they make that sound.

Well, I should qualify that fist statement by saying wushu is hard to learn and be good at compared to other martial arts styles. But you still have to have energy up the ass to be good at it compared to other styles.
I always found it interesting that the term that means "martial art" doesn't refer to one while the one that doesn't is synonymous with it.

We should take some cues from these people. For example their training methods (a part of it), and some principles. Also, these guys don't use "belt ranking systems", which is good; no envy, no useless competitions, no discrimination, etc. This is about a way of life, not sports or contests.

my favorite part is how the subtitles have subtiles over them.. :| lol
say what you want about them and why they might do it or whatever you have to give them props for their skills and their dedication, who wouldnt want to be able to do some/most of the stuff they can do! :)

@HIMYMjocke This is one of the many schools in China. Check out this school; Qufu Shaolin Kung Fu School China. To learn real wu-shu and types of martial arts like that, it takes a lifetime to really learn and understand it. Going to the Qufu Shaolin Kung Fu School China, time-wise, depends on the time you can visit china, some go for a month others for a year. Go to your embassy for more info how long you can stay in China and/or contact the Qufu Shaolin Kung Fu School China on their website.

Im not saying that muscles is all, but they do pay a major role in fighting, as do speed and agility. You say The lighter= The faster , but still, If something heavy is thrown in equal speed as something light, the power is greater.
So strenght has a equal role as speed, flexibility, agility etc. You just got to find a balance.
