Great video as always and very cute buttons ! Nice work and idea, Mister Patina. If next you could find a tool to give all your followers a like, I'm buying, my wrist is sore!
When you restore things, you restore memories, My mother was a "button maker" when young, before getting married. I remember being a kid and reading that in her id card. She had a very similar machine you have in your video (a german one) and I used to play with it when I was 4 or 5 years old. Now I am 49, she passed away 10 years ago, and this video, believe it or not, brought a bit of her back to me. Thanks for that.
Hey, thank you so much for your story, that was pretty heartwarming.. Fun fact: the machine I have is a US one, pretty rare here in germany. It has inch threads and the 64mm buttons :-)
A new Mister Patina video ? Time to put the kettle on, coffee anyone? With the weather we are experiencing this week here in Normandy, I'm going to watch Mister Patina deal with a rusty machine instead of attempting to fix the outside ramp . It makes more sense than trying a balancing act on a slippery ramp and stair a few :meters above the long thorns of ancient rose trees and granit rocks. Thank you for giving me an excuse to come back inside, Mister Patina!
@@MT-uu5ln Aluminum doesn't rust, so bluing isn't to stop rust. I'm assuming (because I don't know for sure) that the 'bluing' for Aluminum is actually anodizing which makes the Aluminum tougher. In fact, anodizing makes Aluminum Oxide, which is so tough that it's used to make sandpaper. Regular aluminum is soft and easily damaged.
@shirleyannconfer9651 you won a button! If you want to have one, please answer this comment and send me an email! (Email Adress in the channel info! ;-))
My highschool banned wearing matching pins for possible gang activity, so now I'm in college making tons of them for all my friends to wear and we jokingly call it out cult aha
Why would anyone not like your work maestro? I don't watch your videos hoping to take ideas and or go find something to restore as much as I hope I get inspired to deliver the best in terms of what can be done, your work ethic and attention to detail are what separates you from everyone else. Keep it up and thank you for sharing.
So… from repairs to the garden stairs to check on the proofing of the bread dough I came, a notification for a new Mister Patina I saw, and conquered, I stayed. Right, perhaps Caesar’s words held more might, but had he had the opportunity to watch an excellent renovation video instead of messing up Europe, he wouldn’t have had to be murdered to ponder his next best quote! 😎 @Mister Patina, I am not entering the competition, by the way, all I want right now is for the house project I have to go ahead, as it is for a good cause very dear to my heart. Thanks for this video , it is enough joy for me to watch one of yours without needing a prize.
I say Mr. Patina's channel is the following. ASMR, peaceful, inspiring and wholesome. It's the channel we need and don't deserve. He is a talent that I feel is unsung. Personally my heart leaps when I see a new release. You, my good Sir, are a blessing.
There's always a feel good factor about your videos. It does my head good to see an item old, rusted and damaged being transformed to a condition better than the day it was made. Bravo Mister Patina.👏
REALLY cool trick using chalk to keep the files from loading up with aluminum chips! I need to remember that one! 😁 Thanks for another great restoration video! ❤

@@shirleyannconfer9651 I want to be honest: the sandblasting was double speed 😄 it took hours to blast the powder coating off…
