Thanks for bringing me aboard with your video! I appreciate that. Did my time as a Machinist Mate on the Midway CVA 41 (1969-71) Served in the Tonkin Gulf. Became a USMM CAPT in 2011 - 2021 100T... I'm retired now. Love the sound of those blowers!
Love you Mississippi amazing king’s working man’s love ❤️ and they family love ❤❤❤thanks for sharing this video my Mississippi love you guys for what you do amazing jobs ❤❤❤❤thanks
I just reread Mark twain's "Life On the Mississippi". I'm sure he would be amazed at river traffic today. The horsepower, the size, the modern navigational aids, locks and dams, & etc. Way different from what he describes.
Another great video Capt. Neat to see some of the different traffic on the river. Wonder what they were doing with that WWII tug. I see from the comments it was going to Little Rock, but to work or be a museum piece?
+Ratdog 305 Museum piece to be placed by the Razorback. The Hoga is credited with pushing two sinking battleships clear of the Pearl Harbor channel. It played a big part in keeping Pearl open for the carriers and other battle-class ships. She is a hero!
I’m just seeing comments and not sure what size you are seeing. It can vary vastly depending on quite a few variables. That said, about 4-6 hours for 15 barges would be decent time.
Tell me more about your S/B experiences with lock # 17 on the ark. river. I run up there a lot and was very amused watching your approach. That lock has treated me poorly on several occasions.
you sure have a beautiful re-fitted tow boat;damn! LBJ ran the VietNam War from a commode in the White House; but he did not have the view that you have! lol GREAT VIDEO! Thanks!
Yes, she was moved to Houma Louisiana in 2015 for restoration but she still needs an act of congress to sail overnight with more than 49 passengers ( due to her wooden superstructure ).

thanks for posting my dad work on the towboat many many years ago y'all have a very hard job sir:)
Hey that mighty miss. Is the biggest boat out there
Love this!
When do you sleep? How’s the shifts? What’s the pilot do?
How’s the jobs work out?
How long is your week?
Do you ever get off the ship?
6 hours on 6 hours off, repeat (12hr day),, for a 30 day trip.
30 days on and 15-30 days off
Live and work on boat the whole days on.
Well you please film more in cape fleet. OMS.. I'm a deckhand/steersman there in cape love to see some video there
+Josh McHughs 👍🏻
1:40 was a jack-off boat. They call them jack off boats because they go up and down.
What’s the difference between your duties and the Pilot’s duties?
Some paperwork
I just reread Mark twain's "Life On the Mississippi".

Way different from what he describes.
And yet to me, I see the similarities
Wow!!!!!!# boatman from Iowa!🐮 ⚓🚣🚤⛵🚢⚓

Yesss Sir, Boy does that Jackson Aaron have a Sweet Wheelhouse...!!
I love the long videos! Not gonna lie the barges look a shit ton bigger when ppl stand on them and you can see how big they really are!
The perspective of size is hard to capture on video. It's big stuff. 👍🏻
Will you show the spot lights at night some time ?
I'd like to see a video of how they wire everything together.
do you think you will ride with Mark.
Whats the best way to enter into this job field?
+Grant Marshall online applications at different barge line or towboat companies
How long would it normally take (under good conditions) to connect all of the barges for this setup?
I’m just seeing comments and not sure what size you are seeing. It can vary vastly depending on quite a few variables. That said, about 4-6 hours for 15 barges would be decent time.
What number Mississippi is that? I know the IV is on display in Vicksburg
Captain, do you work the Grafton, Illinois area?
I pass through now and again.
How can I get a job on a barge
A head right in the wheelhouse, how cool is that?
Most of the vessels I've been on have toilets in wheelhouse. Some require a box of ziplock baggies.
Is there time to go while underway or do you call up an associate to drive for a bit?
Tell me more about your S/B experiences with lock # 17 on the ark. river. I run up there a lot and was very amused watching your approach. That lock has treated me poorly on several occasions.
Just over a “knucle”?
Just put in gear at lowest rpm
seems like a dream job
Please wear a remote mic and speak louder!
you see my boat the Louis develle
830👌

Did they move the Delta Queen out of Chattanooga to redo her. She will always be the FIRST LADY OF THE RIVER.
Yes, she was moved to Houma Louisiana in 2015 for restoration but she still needs an act of congress to sail overnight with more than 49 passengers ( due to her wooden superstructure ).
Boat Axe they should do it. She will always. be first "LADY".
