What Is The Best Electric Guitar To Get For Playing Blues?

- While this is FAR from a comprehensive list of the kinds of guitars you could use for blues playing...
I did my best to give you a little taste of some of the more common varieties and you can let your own ear be the judge.
As always, basic signal path of guitar into blues driver into eleven rack set as a Super Reverb... same thing I've used forever.
I hope this is helpful!

Either an old National resonator, a Stella, or a Fender Telecaster. 😀😎
For me the telecaster has the best blues sound.
I'd say the best guitar for the blues is one with strings. The blues ain't in the guitar, it's in you.
Ah but what strings………..?
@@johnnybgood7812 Does it sound any better to play country music on a Strat? Doesn't matter if you can't play country at all.
Well there''s the Strat and then there is the rest!
Strat sounds like 50s rock
Ok, two things, one, great video thanks, beautiful guitars and thanks For give us the opportunity of listening different guitars at once; two, that t-shirt is awesome!!!!!! I love boubon too!!!!!
My exact sentiment on the bourbon 🥃 cheers to both you guys
I liked the Les Paul, 335 & PRS but I prefer to play a Strat. The larger necks don't feel right to me. With pedals & amps you can get your sound with any of them.
They're all good! Buddy Guy said this about the guitar - "Give it everything YOU got, and it'll give you everything IT got." I have a Gretsch Electromatic, and those pickups bite. Very chime-like and it plays the blues every night.
The PRS sounds best for me. On second thought, I would like to play all of them.
Most excellent, solid common sense advice. Playing the different models shows the differences and commonalities of them.
Outstanding video across the board! Do you have preference? Thanks!
Clapton's Strat isn't your regular Strat. It has a 25 dB mid range boost in it on the middle knob. It really sings the Blues when played through a Fender ‘57 Custom Twin Tweed. You should ask my neighbors. 😁
Any guitar, with or without pickups.
From my experience best guitars for jazz are a gibson 335, fender jazzmaster or a good ol fashoined stratocaster all fit that sound without having to buy a bunch of gear. Tube amp with spring reverb is the way to go for the warmest vintage bluezy sound. Stay away from solid state or at the least have 1 tube operated amp somewhere in the rig.
One with 6 strings.
I play Blues in LTD EC 407 and sound great !
For me it’s the semi hollow
That was fun. Great idea for a video. Love your 335.
Diggin the PRS and Gibby 335! I think my next guitar will be a PRS 594 SC, absolutely beautiful sound.
The best guitar for playing the blues is a cheapo one from the pawn shop.
The one you have....
Great video! Thanks.
Would love to know the setting on your blues driver …when you showed it in the beginning with the Strat it was like heaven ……I can’t play for shit , but I have a fender amp and a waza blues driver I havent even used yet ,though I’ve had it about 1.5 yrs …(mustang gtx100 is just so much quicker than dialing in the tube amp ) I need to at least get it into the chain somehow ..
You need to just start playing.
I start with the knobs at noon and adjust level to make it even level off vs. on, then I usually drop the gain just a touch and the tone usually comes down just a little. By the end they're around 11:30 on the dial.
@@bluesguitarunleashed thank you 🙏
Great demo test, thank you; one of each please 😊
A complete novice when it comes to electric guitars, 2 questions if I may:
1. What is a Blues Pedal, which model were you using in the demo?
2. I have seen Strat style with a Humbucker at the bridge and two mid/neck Coils , eg. Yamaha, does this offer more or less in tones, or maybe just marketing ?
Thanks
@@colinc3292 1. boss blues driver BD-2
2. Humbucker in the bridge makes it less of a strat but good if you play metal or hard rock occasionally and want a single guitar that covers all bases.
Love the shirt!
IF I could only have one electric to play blues it would be...A hollow bodied one.
I just really like the tone of them.
Of course you can play anything on one, think Dave Edmunds.
Surprisingly in my own opinion, the ES-335 sounded great in this presentation, but hey that's the Jazz & Blues Guitar (BB King) Nice Guitars by the way...
SRV Strat
I preferred the Les Paul at least for this comparison.
Very helpful - great presentation
Fantastic stuff right there!
The one, you use, after practicing a lot
Do you ever play a tele?
Absolutely, just not typically for blues - no reason other than I just have other options I prefer.
Today it is the Telecaster😂😂😂but tomorrow who knows
Ibanez rg
