Great job explaining the S mount armbar. There are 1000s of videos about it on UA-cam. But only ONE person explaining the fine details: Eli Knight. I truly appreciate you sharing your Jiu Jitsu with the world. Many thanks, Professor Eli.
being a short heavy weight I always have trouble with an s mount. your explanation of the outside foot positioning, not coming up to early and scooping, is the ticket. thank you as always for the great instruction.
I really like the "mistake" highlights. Makes illustrates perfectly common mistakes. I know I'm guilty of flopping too soon, just like you illustrated! Great vid as always man.
I find it a struggle sometimes to submit via choke once I've successfully taken the back. I'll be in a really good position and able to maintain control but can sometimes find it difficult to get past their defending hands. I know some people use legs or underarm monkey grips to to tie them up but what would you recommend? Could you do a video showing how to effectively neutralise someone's defending hands and successfully finish the choke? Love the vids man!
Enjoyed the video, love the details! As for ideas for future videos Icy Mike said on a recent podcast he was wanting you to do a video on your thoughts on Aikido, I'd really be interested to see that.
I don’t have any specifically for stretching, but I recommend always stretching after warming the joints, tendons and muscles up. Also, foam rolling and massage are crucial.
What I would like to see is some Jiu Jitsu standing up. Some street fighting we're going to the ground is not feasible. Perhaps a mass attack video. Thanks :)
@@nickfry7839 Hook one foot tightly around their neck (almost everyone should be able to do that) and the other foot hooked under their armpit instead of on the ground.
I hate putting knife defense videos on UA-cam, because it is a topic that requires a lot of technicality discussion of context. I have done a lot of course work on the subject and have collaborated with Aaron Janetti on a great course called Knife Control Concepts if you're interested.
I get why you hate it, everyone thinks they are a expert and has their own opinion on it and of course if it's not that same opinion it's wrong. Where can I find the course??
@@timothygourley5690 - Exactly. Which is why this course is specifically called "Knife Control Concepts" because it is more of a conceptual look at drills meant to enhance awareness and control in an edged-weapons based environment. Out of curiosity because not a lot of people touch on it, do you have anything that covers blunt impact weapons? I live in a country where we don't have the same freedons as USA so fire arms are banned for self defence because that seems likd everyone go to answer "just shot him" or they are traditional martial artists (I was one for many years) that don't really have experience with someone try hit them with a hammer (baseball isn't a big thing other here so not many baseball bats)
Arm-Bar is literally the only Submission I have even a shred of confidence in so this was helpful
Awesome. Exactly what I intended this video for.

I like how bjj teaches body awareness and proper body positioning

I haven't been able to do an armbar without squashing my balls so this is great
Very excellent with clear explanation
So many great details here. Now I know why I've struggled with this submission.

2 on 1 control on one of their hands and wrap it with your leg. Now you got 2 free hands vs 1 :D
Use your hand like a drill. Stick out two knuckles, start "drilling" their hand away from their neck.
Thank you so much for the great content! This channel has helped me in BJJ so thank you very much! And this is a video that I really needed
Happy to help! Thank you
i never got it right, this is very insightful, i will keep it in mind
Great video, this would make a really good series and I'd enjoy seeing more of these type of videos. Maybe a kimura next?
Excellent. I plan to make quite a few in this series.

In my judo training is something we look as part of the routine, any detail is exactly as was show in the video 🤙🏻
First time seeing your channel! Great video! Boxer vs wrestler on Twinz vs! Nice see your video again!
Very helpful. thank you. Articulately explained🙏🙏
Good stuff Eli!
Thank you very much. It's so helpful.
Good explanation sir
Finishing cross choke from guard
Thank you! Very helpful!
Great details. Thank you!
I needed this mate! thanks!
Could you leave the wrist in your elbow crease to avoid possibly losing the wrist when trying to find it with your hands?
Yes. There are a few places I remove grips in this video while talking and explaining that I probably shouldn't have.
Nice one coach
I had a difficult time finishing the armbar in sudden death sub only.
Great video. Thank you. I have tight tendons, esp in knees, back and hips. Any modifications? Do you do "stretch" videos?
I don’t have any specifically for stretching, but I recommend always stretching after warming the joints, tendons and muscles up. Also, foam rolling and massage are crucial.
Could you do a video on finishing an arm triangle from mount I can never seem to finish it on some of the tougher people
Yes! I plan to do that for sure.
This was a great video thanks from 2023
Nice 🖒🖒👍👍👌
Hocam gerçekten Allah razı olsun ♥️
thanks
Now I'm ready to throw arm lock all day long!!
thanks for the vid. is there any video on passing the guard? i suck at it haha
I have a couple videos on my channel for that 👍

do your feet need to be on the ground when you have an armbar?
Not always, but it depends.
@@KnightJiuJitsu i ask, because, im a small guy and my legs never reach all the way over my opponent. should i just tucked them as close as i can?
