@@edboss36 you will find you get really good quickly and then your no longer the newbie and your partners will turn it up a notch and you get smashed again 😂😂 best sport to eliminate an ego 😬😬😂
Great video, as always tom! It is very hilarious to see that the editor uploaded this and forgot to change the title of his video export to the title of the actual video that was planned :) Video editing is also part of my job and channel, and this stuff happens all the time for me. It´s funny to see when it also happens to others. Keep rolling sir, I´m learning a LOT, and you are part of the reason for me starting Jiu Jitsu 3 years ago, THANK YOU!
@@garrybutterfieldfilms4501, absolutely no need to apologise. You´ve revamped this channel in a great way ( I´m assuming you are also the creator of the new visual style and graphics etc,) and I continue to love the videos. Both for what Tom puts into them and how you make them look man, SO keep rocking sir. If I ever make it to the other side of our planet (I´m based in Belgium), I´d love to meet and roll with you guys. all the best!
@@ProjectsandThings yep, that's me, really appricate that man, I know for a fact Tom would love for any of our viewers, if they can make the trip over, come and roll with us!
When Ronda Rousey’s mom said that the arm bar is the best sub from the back, I thought she was crazy. When I realized that even fighters with terrible ground games can protect their neck, she starts to make sense.
I like this, I will need to look for that elbow flare. When I defend (and people get my back ALL THE TIME) I usually keep elbows in and *pull* down on their forearm rather than try to *push* it down. Either way I will think about this for both offense and defense. Thanks!
Hello... I been following your videos religiously... And I watch the same one over and over. I always learning a tiny details I may have overlooked. Anyways... I find myself getting smashed on my back getting the butterfly guard and I can seem to rock back on my butt ... Can you give us any tips of what to do from there? Also I got caught in a triangle mount.... Had no idea what to do Thanks Tom
Maybe I'm misremembering, but wasn't Rhys a blue belt a few months ago? If so and the color-coding on his name indicates his belt, congrats on the promotion, Rhys. (If I'm just misremembering, please disregard.)
Love the videos man. I'm a whitebelt and find these great to prolong my inevitable tap. 😂😂
How's it going now?
@@edboss36 still training 3/4 days a week 🤙
@@dylanberigan7004 niceeee💯 i just started last week dont have any taps so far nor escapes but I try to maintain mount or guard for as long as I can

I was just showing this to a buddy in his garage yesterday, already sent him the video to review for finer details. Always love sharing this channel.
I thumbs up'ed👍 this video even at the risk it could be used to secure the arm bar 😁🙏
Thank you doctorate. Your techniques are so good. And that voice.
Great details on one of the submissions I try to use from the back. Thanks Prof Tom!
I like the idea of unwinding the drill.
Thank you Professor Tom!

In my defence, I changed the title straight away but being that UA-cam is as big as it is, it's taking ages to actually come through 😁😜

Very clean.

Excellent my master!

This is perfect, I have been wondering what else can be done from having someone's back besides a choke 👍
Thanks coach, I'll have to drill that at the gym next time. Hopefully I'll be able to visit your gym when we come down to AU this April.
Thank you Coach!
That looks great one of the best transitions ive seen from back to armbar but what about an s grip defense?? can they still do an s grip to stop this?

I have a question. When you go into the kimura grip, are you able to do the kimura right there?
maybe you don't have enough leverage for kimura there
I don't know about Tom, but I couldn't. I'd have to move to another position to finish it.
