I love how the parents protect their daughter… esp because Hmong parents who still follow the old ways don’t see their daughter as important as their sons… just saying too though, if you protect your daughter that much, I also wish and hope that you will protect your daughter in law just as much as your own daughter. I thank you for being great parents to your daughter.
As a parent I will always fight for my child if they’re not in the wrong. I will never allow my child to live through break and depression. My dad is the same way. We need more parents like this mom!! ❤️

Love is like "god". Think about it. Have we ever accepted, cherished, and worship a "hate-god"(or ancestor)? And, all that we have ever worship has always been good, caring, and helping. But, isn't this just love. Oh, you can do so much with love . It will Transend over thousands of year of culture false beliefs. This family was saved by it.

I only have one daughter, and when she first brought her new boyfriend to meet us, my husband and i said to him that courtship is for boyfriends and girlfriends to learn about each other, to find out if they are for each other. If not, go apart nicely. If he hurt our daughter, for him to know we will hurt him double.

I commend this couple for taking their daughter back and their grandchildren. For loving their daughter unconditionally and her children too. I was unfortunate because I lost my son but I have taken his 7 children in because I am their grandma/puj/pog. I love my grandchildren because they are all I have left of my only child/son. I miss him everyday but when I do I just have to look at my grandkids and it is like he is still with me. I will fight for all my grandchildren -ALWAYS! ALL children are precious no matter boy or girl and we need to treasure them and cherish and love them.
You two should receive the "greatest parents award." I wish more Hmong parents think like you and your husband.

Love this story! My parents are the same way, our children’s doesn’t owe us anything, they didn’t asked to be born, it’s our job to raise and to protect them. This mother is not influencing her daughter yet she is protecting her child. I wish more elders listen to this story and learn a thing or two and not criticize this parents. No one’s perfect, if everyone is perfect, this world will probably be corrupted.

It's okay. My parents don't care either. They have spiritual guidance also but we are their kids. Even tho we are married my parents says that no one calls our spirits and other stuff so they just do it with theirs. My dad says so what! They are my kids! If I don't do it, who will? So my family has been doing this for years. Calls our spirits/ husband's & all our kids. They Call everyone's spirits home. 🥰 these parents are like mine. I love these kind of parents. 💗

I don’t encourage divorce, especially when kids are involved. It’s best to work on the marriage, unless it’s not a healthy relationship. Taking your kids to marry another will never work. They will only torture those kids.

Hell yeah, if my son-in-law doesn’t love my daughter, I would convince her to divorce him! I would divorce him for her and file a restraining order against him myself. As parents, we are supposed to encourage our children to be strong and independent.

We hmong parents when your daughter is a Dr or lawyer, engineers. We claim she it our daughter. Also when our son and nyab don't want to take care us or do our funeral. We go ask our daughter and son-in law come to pool money for the funeral cost. So be kind to our daughter too.

Just like the mother in the story said: You're daughter is already sad to be born a daughter in the Hmong community because after marriage we aren't a daughter to our parents anymore.
