Thanks for your work on this mate. As someone who is constantly trying to add nuance and layers of disclaimers, it can be frustrating when others don't slow down to engage with a build discussion in it's context. Thanks for your efforts to help clarify and put each decision you make on your characters in context. I subbed to you a few days ago, but just wanted to drop by today and say thanks and I appreciate your efforts.
Yo, found you through the 1st reap build. Idk what the claims made against you were but having watched the whole first vid (and was planning on using a modified version [for SC instead of HC] of your PoB to start), I think you did an extremely good job of explaining the situation and were very reasonable with your PoB. The whole community is just quick to jump at people over PoB stuff because 1. half them don't understand the tool in the slightest and 2. like you said some other creators have been caught doing some shenanigans in the past and now the community is hyper alert about this kind of stuff. Keep it up
This looks great, was already really curious to try this build out before these updates but now it made me even more excited. Especially since it shows how editable the build is to diff ideas. :D
Loving this build on SC trade (console). Had a hard time getting the glove implicit like you. I was really good on res (this tree makes it super easy), so I dropped a ring, and started using the highwayman ring. Great work with this build
Also, wanted to point out the new Protection Mastery "elemental resists cant be lowered by curses", as you mentioned overcapping your resists in the original VP build. This doesnt address the exposure issue, but will negate the curses that reduce elem resists, and we're already pathing into the +2 max res in the protection wheel. Definitely feels worth taking especially when you don't have the clusters yet, might be worth keeping that node all the time even.
If you're going to invest that point anyway, couldn't you just take the CB immunity (assuming you can't land a corrupt on a jewel) and run a curse immune life flask for an overall greater effect? Or as originally suggested, could simply run the flask suffix - not really a much stronger option to put on it anyway other than maybe chill or poison immunity.
@@Alellion Yeah, seems like the res suffixes on flask covers the most ground. I was thinking of other nice QoL suffixes like cast speed/move speed and use the mastery for the negative res from curses, probably will use the mastery while im getting up to ilvl 83 flasks & good rolls & getting the instilling orbs in ssf
I played reap brands with self cast exsanguinate back when they made the skills. Reap didn't get blood charges when it was triggered back then. I had corrupting fever going also. It was really great. I did gladiator + raider and it was super tanky. Evasion, spell dodge, block and spell block with glancing blows. I got my total DPS to over 7 mil. It was my league starter. I can see it being even stronger today.
Not gonna touch the leaks, they seem incomplete and unreliable imo. I'll figure out how the crucible trees impact the builds when we get more reliable info.
this is actually a pretty impressive pob for relatively realistic gear. only issue is if self cast exsang is going to feel like crap for clear but the pob numbers are pretty awesome. 40k max phys hit on a leaguestarter with a pretty honest pob is actually really damn high.
Hey, awesome content. I'll most likely leaguestart this in Softcore trade. This might be a stupid question but is there any reason to use the vaal pact variant considering it seems to have about 50% lower damage and some lower defenses while also being the "riskier" route if you can't play around the degen with righteous fire on?
Just one question as I'm new to self casting these spells. You have a 5 link exang with corrupting fever. How are you supposed to clear on this build effectively? I get reap is single target
Thanks for the build, really looking forward to trying this out as SSF SC league starter! Question on final ascendency pick, since you're not utilizing the "path from dueliest/path from ranger" final node, can you just take the two +1 passives at the end of each path? Never played a scion, not sure if the game lets you split those after Uber lab, seems to work in PoB
Gonna answer both of your questions in one reply. First - You wouldn't want to do that since even if you don't take advantage of the ascendancy-specific start pathing that the node gives, it still gives +2 passive points. So if you decided to grab two +1 passives for your last lab, you'd be losing 1 passive point (+1 passive from the travel node, and +2 from the Path of the Duelist/Ranger node) Second - You could spec the mastery early on if you wanted to, but there's no real reason to once your flasks are online. Rolling ele res during flask effect counters both curses and exposure, and you'll have virtually 100% uptime on it whilst mapping. If you personally want to grab the node you can, but it's something I can take care of somewhere else and save a passive point for damage or life.
Hey this build looks great! Do you plan to use the crucible skill tree node for weapons which converts reap and exsanguinate to fire dmg? Since this would also work with the shield pretty well. Instead of having phys dmg over time I think you need fire dmg over time then. :) Thank you
Lessggoo tbh "some" of the comments were people literally not watching the whole video Edit: since this is a regen build you could even level as rf hehe
Freeze immunity via pantheon, reduced shock effect via flask. Lategame you can always opt to get fully shock immune via jewels and ring/boot crafts. Jewels can roll 30-35% reduced effect of shock, so getting 1 or 2 of rolls of that affix and throwing on reduced effect of shock/chill on boots, or just shock for rings, will make you functionally shock immune for everything outside of ubers. For ubers (eater) you can get 100% shock avoid via 2 abyss jewels with perfect 50% rolls, or 3 abyss jewels with any tier rolls. Though just running reduced effect on flask and having the bench craft on a piece of gear is more than enough for the base game. Lastly, we don't care about ignites at all, the only ignite in the game worth caring about is on exarch, and you'll run a dousing flask for him anyways.
People use woke cascade on hit-based builds because you get more damage when they overlap, this version is DoT-based though, we don't scale the hit damage of the spell, this means we would just be reducing our damage if we used cascade.
@@fizecs is DoT based cheaper compared to hit based? Been wanting to try Reap for a long time and the addition of vaal reap seems like the best time to do that!
@@TheCosmicAstro- Yeah, by far. I would never consider league starting hit-based reap because awakened spell cascade is essentially mandatory to play it. DoT based hits the ground running from act 3. Later on in the league hit-based has a much higher ceiling due to being able to be played on tons of different ascendancies and a million different ways to scale the damage, but is typically pretty high investment.
@@fizecs Good to know, thanks! Still debating between Flicker, Reap, or Boneshatter as my second build of the league. Im thinking Flicker because I tested a build and it actually worked on a low budget which is EXTREMELY rare and ive been trying to play flicker for years xD But your Reap will probably be build 3!

TY for this dude. Did you check the crucible leaks? Any thoughts about the implications for the build?

Great job on builds man. Have you considered Iron Reflexes? PoB shows better phys mitigation with it.
It's PoB padding, iron reflexes will drastically decrease your survivability

Do you have any ideas/best guesses on how this build will be able to clear legions day 1/2?
One thing I am really struggling with in this build is how you are dealing with chill/freeze. I keep getting wreaked by it.
freeze immunity is via pantheon. chill immunity is via the movement speed hybrid boot bench craft
