it's great when you know how and when the colors are so great and then the feeling when the paint is dry and the surface is great.. it was nice to learn
Man, I wish my roof was that straight! My 68s roof was like a lunar landscape, and with all those compound curves it can be a real pain to get it right. Anyhow your 54 is looking amazing, as with a lot of my stateside VW subs, you guys are heading into warmer weather and things are coming together. Meanwhile here in the Southern hemisphere we're getting wetter by the day!
That color is so absolutely awesome. Metallics are so hard to match. I am in awe of your cojones in spraying everything separately. I’d be scared $&i+less. Btw, I suggest you put a tarp on the chassis outside; it looks like it took some water from your past rain events there. Remember one thing: these cars were never perfect when they rolled off the assembly line. Sure they had great QA/QC but a little orange peel is not a problem, especially if the coverage is nice and the metal is protected. You are doing a KILLER JOB!
Great video, glad to see you working on the bug.still ways to go.great job as always.your killing it.enjoyed the videos from all the car shows.kudos 😎😎😎👍👍👍
The color you picked out --- does look pretty good ---- the '54 --- will be really nice all back together --- It's a wonder you don't have much dirt blown up on the paint ---- the air blowing and the air pressure from the gun --- stirring up dust --- you don't hose down the driveway ----- in your upcoming video --- you'll have to share -- how you go about painting down into those louver vents below the rear window --- getting enough paint down in there without getting runs all over ----- Thank You for Your Tips on how you go about doing this project ----- Looking Good ---------- Rodney
This color is amazing.. I'm a few months away from painting my 56 bug.. Did I hear you say you needed 2 gallons of paint? Trying to figure out how much I should order..
yea I got 2 gallons just to be safe. I am base coating it with a similar blue then topcoat Ing it with the exact color. this way I will have enough material. you can get base from hightech that is cheap as a undercoat.
absolutely love your work ethic, its looking concourse to me,well done
I love holding my phone up and showing parts of your videos to my wife who is really the Volkswagen person in our family.

Do you prefer painted guide coat or powder? Or whatever is available? Great channel Mike
either way. but the powder is easier to sand off.
@@Mikefngarage thanks Mike, that's what I've been using and I agree. Just wasn't sure and thought I'd ask you. Much love from far away Alta Loma, CA.
I'm available Sundays and Mondays
is that a harbor freight sander ?
what is the red sander? where did yo get it?
harbor freight polisher sander orbital. they are the best for sanding just about anything you can use it on.
For sale Mike???
