I’ve been looking at these tvs at Best Buy for weeks now but someone returned a Sony Bravia 8 in 77” so I got that open box but in perfect shape. Paid a little over $2k (which I thought was a steal). $2,800 total with tax and 5 year coverage.
Nice work! That's a deal for sure (at least in Australian dollars)
How is the reflection handling and brightness ?
@@cachegrk it has some reflection and brightness is great the Bravia 9 is brighter tho and the LG G4 is as well . Bravia 8 is more like a LG C4 in brightness. Also I saw the Bravia 8 next to the A95L and they are also neck and neck . Good time to be a tv buyer. Can’t really so wrong with LG or Sony. I was a big Samsung fan but my 8k Samsung just died and never turned back on even after switching the main board and screen. I also had two S90C Samsungs that gave me issues so I took the store credit from those s90c and got the Bravia 8 and the LG G4 . I’m finally happy .
@@bigmoneyjo41510 thanks for your reply and suggestions! I am kind of leaning towards Sony due to image processing and it’s also a family tradition☺️ . My only worry is our living room is super bright with 2 windows straight opposite to the tv.
I was leaning towards Bravia 7 but it’s matte finish is not great. Bravia 9 is nice but super expensive. I find Bravia 8 to be the middle ground with glossy screen, OLED etc
@@cachegrk If the room is really bright Bravia 9 is recommended but the Bravia 8 might do the trick.
His way of saying the bravia 8’s picture quality is better was very creative.
He did well overall I think. Was pretty genuine.
Love both these TV's. Going to go with the Bravia 9. Question - Why do NEW My Sony Customers get 10% Off both these TV's and Long-Term Loyal My Sony Customers get ZERO?? Sony seems to Reward Loyal Customers with Nothing really!!
This is a great question, but typically of almost all companies. Non-customers get the deal, customers get a price rise!
trying to decide between the 2 for a bedroom. 65inch. any help?🙁
Can you control the light in the bedroom. Because it it's fully blacked out, then the 9 will be sweet. If there is a lot of natural light, then the 8.
@@motivatedtravel thanks so much for responding so definitely going for an old 65 from Sony and ive got Bravia 8 or the a80l who u got between these 2 for a a bedroom basement tv?
Bright room 9 darker room 8
@@motivatedtravelI’ve heard opposite

how about the burn in on bravia 8 ?
Guess we won't know until people have had them for a while, but my understanding is that the risk of burn in is real, but not as bad as it used to be.
Very rare
Why no 65" bravia 9 in Australia like is available in rest of the world?
Because Aussies are Rich
All the TV guys are saying that the Aussie market is trending to bigger sizes, and because our population is so low, at a certain tipping point it's likely not worth bringing in the stock.
My guess is that the philosophy is that if you've got enough coin to even consider one of these TVs, then you've got enough coin to go big.
I don't think the vast majority of Aussies under 55 would think that.
I think the 65" is only available in north America. Maybe some other countries, but definitely not the rest of the world.
@@Swecan76true. Europe doesn’t have 65 either. I ordered an 85
Important question: Is the X95k using qled (quantum dot backlight) as well?
I believe it's mini-lED
@@motivatedtravel Yes, I know, mini-led or full array or edge lit is the way they lay out the led bubs in the panel. Can you ask the expert if X95K use the quantum dot, I've heard that x95k and x95l using cheap panel with quantum dot, please ask him to confirm this.
Looks like Sony stepped on itself...
As in the 9 competes too much with the 8?
This is not a true comparison but thanks anyway for trying.
Cheers, glad you enjoyed it.
Burn in risk is enough reason to choose mini led
Even less price and more brightness is two more reasons
Especially as the contrast and brightness catches up, it's a decent argument.
@@goodnight75961 it’s gotten better and the lg has that pixel cleaner
