- SR-71 Pilot Stormy Boudreaux moderates this panel about the SR-71 Experience. This panel was part of the Air Zoo's SR-71 Spyposium event , Aug 12-15 2022.
The Air Zoo is a world-class, Smithsonian-affiliated aerospace and science museum, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, with over 100 air and space artifacts, inspiring interactive exhibits, full-motion flight simulators, indoor amusement park rides, a theater and over 100 education programs!
Watching the video now. I was so proud to have worked for Floyd Jones and to be part of the program. Great video. Thank you all for posting and keeping the SR-71 a living legend. Habu!
I ate up every second of this video. It was so cool the pilot passing his knowledge to the young person wanting to enlist. Saying he was essentially a nobody who made the right choices in his life to be living proof anything is possible. Amazing
Fun fact: the photo at 31:00 was taken by my wife's late father, Judson Brohmer (RIP). It has always been my absolute favorite photo of the SR, even though it is just the trainer model. Clearly this was taken right after disconnect. He used raw film cameras back then. Such a great shot.
He may have taken some of the other ones, such as the inverted shot over the tanker and maybe some of the shots on the ground, but I'd have to do some more homework to confirm. After his accident, his widow and children put together a book called "Breaking Free." I'm sure it has the collection of all of the SR shots.
One of the great iconic photos and a personal favourite 😉👍
Great minds made this!
Loved it!
Thank You, to these courageous men and to all those who contributed to defending this nation against the violent, depraved dictators and threats of the 20th century.
Thank you very much for sharing these great videos. Enjoying them from Spain.
Brilliant! Thank you
This is the missing link vid for us SR junkies!😊
Great talk and stories! But come on A/V crew...change the batteries, scan the open frequencies, and ring out the PA! Add some CTO to the lights (too bright), and white balance the cameras. Not that hard. These old guys in the SR program are ALL just amazing as hell, they are so awesome.q
Thanks much for the info
Awesome 👏
Wonderful :)
I meet these gentlemen back in August. And learned so much about this incredible aircraft. So sad that politics and a jealous general ended this unique aircraft flying days.
Kalamazoo MI
Thank you!
I’m wondering about how much live communication they had with base’s. I’m sure that they could communicate with other aircraft as they needed to refuel from a tanker.
Where is the Air zoo located?
@@johnpaulbacon8320 Thanks man I appreciate it.
Where is it located?? I can’t see any one’s response only yours I must have whoever answered blocked
@@gamingclipz7309 Yeah I can't see anyone else's response either
UA-cam has been putting people's replies in strange brackets, only viewable to some people and not viewable to others. I think it has something to do with a social/political engineering stance that they have. Regardless, I'd love to know where this is, I'm assuming it's in Michigan?
Air Zoo is in Kalamazoo, MI.
Its a great museum. I visited several times about 13-14 years ago. They did have the SR-71 at that time. There is an ENORMOUS mural painted by hand, by a local artist, around the entire main room. Its easily 40' tall by 400 feet long. Huge. Like, held the world record at one time.
Ed looks similar to Adam Savage from Mythbusters
