Wild Earth Dog Treats Review & Taste Test - Made with Fungi, Great For Dogs With Allergies & Vegan

In this review, we take a look at a brand new company and a new type of dog treat. Specifically, dog treats made with Koji, a fungus that offers the protein of animal proteins like beef, pork or chicken but with the comfort of knowing its sourcing and quality is high quality and not compromised due to supply chain issues or concerns. Furthermore, it offers many nutritional benefits while also being considerably more sustainable and environmental friendly compared to many traditional animal proteins. Add to that a good mix of additional supplemental ingredients further offering additional dietary benefits and we have a great choice for those who still want to feed their dogs more than traditional low nutrient value grain-based dog treats while offering benefits of animal-based treats at a lower price.
I can tell you the overall experience taste-wise with the dog was extremely positive they have some serious drool sessions and were focused and engaged when being offered these treats. Overall I am impressed with these treats and their focus on offering a high quality treats with good sourcing and quality protein option. Furthermore no immediate concerns with items like

I am disappointed in their product containing peanuts and peanut butter with no choice minus that ingredient. Peanuts are very carcinogenic and CHEAP. The lowest quality peanuts are used to make peanut butter and have a high tendency to have the cancer causing mold aflatoxin in them. You did a great job on the review!!

There is no clear long term evidence regarding peanuts in this respect but it is something I am aware of. My thoughts that in minimal quantities it is fine as the % base is small. I put it in the same category as flaxseed which is seen in a lot of dog treats/food. It is touted as a supplement but there are concerns regarding phytoestrogen. As always it is good to account for all the aspects you are feeding your dog and balance them accordingly. I will note I did ask Wild Earth this question and others but sadly they were not responsive in regards to the questions I posed. I have had follow up from them since and hope to have more information in 2020 possibly in supplement review or review of their kibble. Thanks for the comment. Have a great day.
