Agreed. I remember when this was released in theaters. My wife and kids wanted to go see it. I wasn't so sure since I didn't think "Hollywood" knew how to do the Hulk right. Much to my surprise, they nailed. They even brought in more of Hulks characters like Blonski, Sterns, and even a pre Doc Sampson. I was blown away and instantly loved this movie. Sure am glad my family talked me into going. 😅
There are many callbacks and references to The Incredible Hulk TV Series; outside of the cameo of the original Hulk, Lou Ferrigno, playing the part of a security guard. Some of them were: - The university where Banner goes to seek out Betty Ross was named Culver University; in the pilot episode for the series, David Banner worked at the Culver Institute. - After his Hulk out, where Banner walks the streets of Argentina you hear “The Lonely Man” theme played. That theme was used in all five seasons of the show, as well as three made-for-TV movies, and even an episode of Family Guy. - During the battle between the Hulk and the Army, two college students are watching the fight. One of the students was named Jack McGee, a reporter for the college newspaper. In the series, Jack Colvin played Jack McGee who was a reporter who pursued Banner each week with the hopes of getting the “story of the century” by capturing the Hulk.
@@TheKristianHarloffThat is true. Same actor and same character. I'm glad others know about him. Hope this wasn't a spoiler for her, but it is confirmed. 😊

This was an underrated "MCU" film. I loved what Edward Norton did with Bruce Banner. I was a little off put on how the "MCU" used Tim Roths' abomination moving forward. (I.E. Shang Chi, She - Hulk)
People forget that this movie was not suppose to tie into Iron man, as it was filmed and distributed by another company, but after the success of Iron man, they filmed the end credit scene to start having he moves tie together
I always took it as the lightning being something he had never experienced before. Hulk hasn't been let out all that much, so you're basically looking at a child who has never experiencing a thunderstorm before. He might actually think its as dangerous as those bombs and bullets people keep shooting at him.
@@TheKristianHarloff Yes, it's 100% true. It was tested as a liquid bandage during the Vietnam War. After the war, it was used for other applications. Keep in mind, (Crazy Glue) is a brand name. Which was what they called it later. The epoxy that Crazy Glue is made from is what they invented.
Whether or not this is lowkey true … in my opinion, this was more like a spin off reboot of 2003 because there few hints that point back to THE HULK …. like the actor that plays her father is similar to Elliot (the actor played the father in 2003) and at the end they show Bruce in South America even though the movie was more comic-ish and the plot was the virus transferred to him thru his father but in this film they switched up the beginning showing how became the hulk then shows that he fleeted to South America.
My head Canon as well. It stands a lot of ground. I think they respected Ang Lee's vision and treated it as a proper Canon origin story, which I think as well.
Awe, yeah! I was just watching clips of this with my brother last week. He doesn't like that they changed HULKs design after this. I told him he'd be too scary looking for family-friendly moments. This HULK doesn't look playful or loveable at all. No gentle giant here at all 😅 i love this movie
Whenever someone asks me what's my favorite MCU movie? I alwas say The Incredible Hulk 2008. They should have kept Edward Norton as Banner/Hulk for Avengers 2012. I love William Hurt as General Ross in this movie and not so much his later appearances in Civil War & Black Widow. Same goes for Tim Roth as Abomination before they ruined his character in She-Hulk & Shang-Chi.
I heard mark ruffalo and Norton are really great friends and Mark didn't want to take over as the hulk because of their friendship and Norton told he didn't mind and that he should take the part
I really loved this movie on my list of all 34 movies I rate this movie as my #6 to me this is the true Hulk that we all know from the comics and his rage is perfect I loved that they got Lou Ferrigno to voice the Hulk in this movie I loved how Abomination looked and the fight scenes are perfect the casting was great William Hurt was a great Ross I really loved this movie and I really think that this movie is completely underrated and I loved the score in this movie especially the theme it's great I also loved the look of the Hulk it felt like reading the comics Hulk's rage was a chefs kiss it was perfect. We need to get this raging Hulk back because this movie shows his rage and this is the first time Hulk said his famous line and voiced by the Incredible Hulk himself Lou Ferrigno when I heard Hulk say " Hulk Smash" I lost my mind and I wished that we get that back in the MCU because in the comics Hulk doesn't speak that well and Lou Ferrigno did incredible reprising his role as the true voice of the Hulk.
Kristian, if you make her watch LotR, you have to do the extended versions, I know they are way longer, but the extra scenes add a lot and answer a lot of questions, Roxy just started watching them on Reel Rejects, and they just did theatrical, and a lot of the questions she brought up get addressed.
Liv Tyler was also in the 1998 movie ARMAGEDDON with Bruce willis and Ben Affleck & her dad Steven Tyler sung all the songs for the movie and the music video for the movie
If she’s gonna watch LOTR, I’d actually recommend doing the theatrical editions. I know a lot of folks swear by the extendeds, but for a first time viewer, they really are a better and more easily digested viewing experience. (Maybe just explain the scene in one of the movies that involves a certain bad guy and show her the scene they cut, and maybe a missing scene involving one of the heroes 😉)
I remember my first time watching this before I knew it wasn’t connected to the old hulk movie. I was thinking the hulk was screaming at lightning because of the last hulk movie ending with the battle with absorbing man and he was a lightning storm, and that brought back the memories of that fight.
I can't help but wonder how they would have written subsequent scripts had Norton not been recast. Similarly, I wonder how the writers would have written this movie, if they had cast Ruffalo.
You should put these MCU reactions in a playlist so people can watch them to catch up to the story. It's a lot shorter than watching all the movies again. Also: This is my favourite Hulk design, Ruffalo's version is a little too short for my taste, Hulk is big and this movie get's his height right imo.

There are rainforests in Brazil, so one could say we're picking up on where the 03 film left off. It's not definitive - as far as I know - but certainly theorized

Yeah when this came out on DVD all the fans were desperately looking for any Avengers Easter eggs and there were people claiming the lightning was Thor related, but it's not. There was also a bunch of people claiming Captain America was rolling across the ground during the final battle, but it was actually just a garbage bag or something. Fun times.
There were supposed to be more actual avengers Easter eggs. In the deleted scene when Bruce Banner attempts to shoot himself there is the Captain America shield. Too bad it was deleted and isn't canon anymore since the shield was in a different location.
