100% I want to see more Gran Turismo content. Old Gran Turismo is like a sitting on a bean bag with the correct amount of beans, on a rainy day with a nugget pack and gravy.
So this video got me to try this, and I found an easier way to set up the pedals. If you can't get the press down method to get your axis to invert on the pedals, you should make a new controller profile and copy over the settings from the other one. After you make a new profile, you can edit the file in your documents under PCSX2 > Inputprofiles and find the name of your new profile. Open it in note pad, and you can swap the - to + in the file (I changed mine to -Axis6 to +Axis6), then save it. Make sure you have the PDL settings (input and raw [not sure if raw is needed but it worked for me]) on and I also had the mapping options you showed checked. After all the setting are modified as you need, close PCSX2 and reopen it, and your new inputs should work with the new profile. You can't edit the shared one, but you can edit personal controller profiles!
It's crazy how good the graphics and physics models of GT3 and GT4 are. If you emulate and add 4k, 60fps, 16x AA you really have a top tier PC driving sim. Force feedback works for both games too.
I played the living heck out of GT4! I loved the used car lot and bought every CSL M3 that ever showed up! The last controller racing I did before GT5/g27 took over. Good times!
Wow! That's awesome. Thanks for this video. GT3 and GT4 for their career mode are right up there with NFSII, and NFSIII: Hot Pursuit (and throw in Porsche Unleashed) as the most fun racing games of all time, IMO.
Ive also found that if you cant get pcsx to register as full axis, you can change it in the ini settings. Works for me with fanatec pedals and simagic wheel.
Hi Nick, your tips for the pedals helped a great deal setting this up with my Moza R9, do you find that catching oversteer seems to be almost impossible? Top video
Just bought a simagic alpha mini, at first the FFB didn't work but it kicked in once I switched to driving force pro then back to driving force pro revision
Thanks for the tip on how hard this is to calibrate ... i tried for an hour and gave up ... then found your video...ffb is pretty bad in this game, the only thing that feels good is the car on dirt tracks and the curbs...but most cars when you turn -in the ffb goes to cheese :D I would say its still much better with a wheel though, I did all the super license up and including super with a controller but found it really hard to get any better than silver on almost all of them, but with a wheel its pretty much a guarantee I'll get gold after a couple tries
11:59 gt four was INFAMOUS for this, on my driving force pro on the lowest ffb setting possible on the lulsane straight it’s almost impossible to keep it straight
Hey can you provide your FFB settings as i got a DD1 aswell and just the wheel oscillates like mad when driving in a straight line and cant seem to figure it out?
wow ive been trying to get force feedback to work on the nightly version of pcsx2 and you're telling me its because i was moving the wheel instead of just clicking any button? INSANE
I have old ps2/pc steering wheel. It has double plyg - usb plus standard ps2. Do You know if both need to be connected for it to work with ps2 or only the ps2 controller one?
Hey man thanks for the video! I tried the Full trottle and Brake axes like you have in the video but for me It seems to give me the endless Brake and Trottle at the same time once I press them. Anyone know how to fix this? I’m also using a fanatec DD1 but also had the same issue when I tried my old Driving force gt pro Really want to do a playtrough on the wheel.
Man, I want to play GT4 so bad, came here hoping for a solution for my T300 Thurstmaster but it just will not recognize a difference between right and left on the wheel for steering, even when I can get it to "work" its inverted and goes from full left to full right as soon as you pass middle on the wheel. Its completely unplayable. Hoped in new updates they might be able to fix it but no luck so far. I'll try again in 6 months.
Thanks for the video. The problem I'm having is my "wheel device" is appearing as port 2 and not port 1. How did you get yours to appear on port 1 ? cheers
I’m keen to see some gt4 content. I’ve built a couple arcade machines running all the emulators but haven’t attempted any emulation on my sim rig. Do you know if Fanatec can be made to work with mame and others?
Ah that’s cool man, I have done previous videos on my channel using my Fanatec DD1 with the Sega Model 2 emulator for Daytona and Sega Rally which worked great! I also know it works with TeknoParrot for modern arcade titles, however I haven’t tried with MAME as yet. If you try, let me know how it goes!
Great video, thanks for uploading. I have the same setup, dd1 and sprints. The ffb cutting out randomly is such a shame, otherwise it would be pretty much perfect! (Besides the horrible oscillation in higher powered cars, classic gran turismo ffb, even does it in Gt7). Any luck with getting the ffb to not randomly cut in and out. I’ve tried messing with low and higher ffb settings, but seems completely random when it will cut out.
i'm trying to figure out the controls for gt3 and it seems delayed or some thing. have a G29 also dont have the problem with the pedals but they might have fixed that.
I had the problem of inverted pedals, and was just able to fix it for my Fanate csl elite pedals. First disable SDL input and enable Dinput. Map the pedals (and wheel axis/buttons). Then enable SDL input, and map your FFB to the SDL device. Boot the game and enjoy your non-inverted pedals :)
Do you know how to get this to work with MOZA wheels? I've managed to get everything working except for the force feedback, of which theres absolutely none.
@@dannnirivera2552 from what I could find online (as annoying as it is) the wheel support was only tested with the G920/G29. Any other wheels that happen to support it is basically a fluke.
