I find much deeper meaning of James being told he's a Derry Girl and he's 'one of us'. The part not shown(spoiler) is when he's in the taxi on his way back to London his mom talks down about Derry. Of course James comes back in the end and reunites with the girls. To me what this is showing is that James who is English is a young person who is taking the high road, embracing new ideas and choosing to come together instead of still live the same way as it always has been. The end of this episode shows that they can coexist. It was a great thing to see.
I wish they would of shown the scene of James telling his mum that he wants to stay, I would ofbeen very interested in seeing her reaction. Do you think we'll see her again ?
Sobre la sensibilidad de Michelle, hay un antecedente en la última escena en s1 e6. Cuando suben al escenario para acompañar a Orla, Michelle hace un gesto de resignación como diciendo "here we go again"
Can I just say that Baby Anna’s expressions throughout the two series have been perfection. Imagine being the baby unit director and just filming for hours on end catching these little gems, like the head tilt at 0:41
I'm really surprised by all the people who ship erin and james. Orla and James have so much chemistry! The way they hugged, how she was the first one to spot him, just they way they look at each other has that spark.
That Michelle and James bit at the end was A+ acting and writing. I loved the slight differences in Michelle's words. Still cutting and brash, but now it's welcoming and hopeful.
Erin's response of "when?" at 3:40 is so heavy! I didn't notice it on my first couple re-watches, but once I did, every subsequent re-watch, it's been front and center.
It's such a beautiful scene, because after so much shit-talking her cousin, Michelle finally directly admits to James (in her own way), that she really cares about him and sees him as real family, even a friend. Had she not chased him down like this to say that, James wouldn't have fully registered just how much leaving would have hurt them and left anyways. It HAD to be Michelle, too. She rejected him the hardest of everyone, and she was his cousin. If she didn't accept him, he wouldn't have believed he was accepted from anyone else.
Every time I watch this I always have grit in my eyes. The acting is nothing short of brilliant both actor show their emotions to the full, once again brilliant.
Yes, at around 3:40, when she asks "When"? I'm hoping that we get more of Team Erin/James in the next series. I've been shipping them together ever since Season 1!😉💘
Think they are saving the Erin/James romance for series 3. Lisa has indicated that there is chemistry there and she is going to explore it in the scrips for the next series.
As much as I’d love to see them get together, she made it clear in season 1 that she thought Katya was insane for fancying James, I hope she didn’t mean it 🤞
When they link arms at the cordon, Erin keeps looking at James and quickly looking past him before linking arms with Michelle; she was hoping he’d take her arm 😍

Found this series on Netflix, right before our second trip to see friends in Ireland. Was not expecting to like it as much as I did. This scene is one of the reasons why this show has quickly grown on me.
I thought it was hilarious when James returned and yelled 'I'm a Derry Girl' followed by the guy in the crowd's response :-) The thought of him leaving did bring tears to my eyes.
This made me so heartbroken! It was so sad seeing all their faces and having Michelle confront him. They love each other so much in their weird teenage way.
I don't blame her, I couldn't stand her, James knew what everyone was saying about his mum was true but he just didnt want to admit it, he wanted to be like any other kid and a good mum who really cared about him, I was very happy when he decided to stay x
I freaking cried my eyes out at this ending. The way they all just hugged and walked past the TV, ignoring the Presidential ceremony they'd been looking forward to, because their favourite English prick decided to stay 😭❤️ James deserves all the love
Ok but James’ haircut is so much better this season, it really makes a diff. Last series he was cute but that hair cut was just....ehhh. This series I was WOAH HES HOT.

A show where one minute your sides are splitting at the foul mouthed comedy situation, and the next there’s a truly heartfelt scene like Michelle telling her cousin that she doesn’t want him to go back to England. Orla puts her hand up to her temple, like her brain can't handle or process the information. Cracks me up everytime.
Well hes half Irish because his mom Kathy is from Derry
True he is viewed as the wee english fella
I wish they would of shown the scene of James telling his mum that he wants to stay, I would ofbeen very interested in seeing her reaction.
Do you think we'll see her again ?
@@erindell7879 I hope we see Kathy again! I feel there's unresolved business where she's concerned.
This season was great but so annoyed that there were only 6 episodes!
I hope season 3 comes soon! At least it's announced already, so the future looks bright :)
@@kristyna.kocianova It will be recorded in the autumn of 2019 and will air in Spring 2020.
Sobre la sensibilidad de Michelle, hay un antecedente en la última escena en s1 e6. Cuando suben al escenario para acompañar a Orla, Michelle hace un gesto de resignación como diciendo "here we go again"
Was this on Netflix?
Phil Dann yes
The " but I don't want you to " line is so wonderfully sad
“you’re a sticker maker”
michelle and james' chemistry is the best, honestly every character is absolutely lovable in this show, can't wait for the 3rd season.
The best part of the episode was when he was shouting Im a Derry Girl and a voice in the background calls him a fekkin arsehole.
3:34 I immediately started crying during that scene.. I’m so glad he stayed ❤️
The acting is wonderful here you can really feel the emotion.
Omg I cried for the ending! 😭😭 What emotions. James, you are a Derry girl. And you do belong ♥️
IM NOT CRYING YOU'RE CRYING!!
The way they hugged, how she was the first one to spot him, just they way they look at each other has that spark.
omg thank you!! I thought I was the only one who wants orla and james (and they're holding hands in the last scene and I died)
YES I THOUGHT I WAS ALONE
THANKS
THANKS YOU!!!! And she’s the only one who treat him with kindness
Finally I found another person who ships them!!
"I'd say she keeps her place shining Mary"
Dead. My absolute favourite character
One of my favourite scenes. The defensive of 'self-adhesive labels' always gets me laughing
Every time I watch this I always have grit in my eyes. The acting is nothing short of brilliant both actor show their emotions to the full, once again brilliant.
You can pinpoint the spot where Erin's heart is about to break. Raging there wasn't romance between them in this series.
@@orian2355 I hope they hold of a bit longer perhaps season 4/5 (fingers crossed we get there) because i love their current friendship dynamic and their sooo young but deffo in the future. Im already dying at grampa Joes probable reaction he's so mean to Gerry for being a southernor could you imagine. But if we do get that relationship i do hope they hold off and give hints then rush in.
I SOBBED LIKE A BABY AT THE END OF THE EPISODE ON TUESDAY NIGHT
Fairly Jamie Same!!
Why he stays
So did I! Did not expect that. All my friends/fam in the US love this show.
I found it a very emotional episode to watch, I absolutely love the programme, I certainly found tears in my eyes. I loved the fact the girls wanted him to stay especially Michelle
THAT IS why ! He gave the impression he was definitely going...
Michelle knows what her aunt cathy's up to and she made james realize that even more, nice
Amazing how Erin ans her mother have so many shared mannerism
Did you catch the toddler's expression in the first scene? Perfect. She's taking it all in, and even tho she's not talking yet you can tell she's got plenty to say.
I love the way you finally see that the girls have shown that they see James as a true friend and do not want him to leave. Michelle shows a lot of care for James and trys to persuade him to stay as she knows what his mum is like "she'll let you down again, you do realise that" I found it a very emotional scene to watch but I think it was done very well x
ARE YOU ON GLUE ? 😂😂
James makes me so sad in the first scene he just wants his mom to love him
Jamie-Lee delivers such a strong performance as she tries to convince the character James to stay.
"credit where credit's due" 🤣🤣
Ma Mary looks like she wants to use that spatula for something other than cooking.
HAHAHAHHA
😂😂😂😂😂
Found this series on Netflix, right before our second trip to see friends in Ireland. Was not expecting to like it as much as I did. This scene is one of the reasons why this show has quickly grown on me.
This one of my most favorite episodes of any television show. Not ashamed to admit my crying.
I've never noticed Michelle saying "Are you on glue?" to Clare
I thought it was hilarious when James returned and yelled 'I'm a Derry Girl' followed by the guy in the crowd's response :-) The thought of him leaving did bring tears to my eyes.
Spoiler
Such a great scene, almost teared up a bit when Michelle tells him what she thinks of him
sanoban it looks like she is about to cry when he leaves.
I love how protective Ma Mary is over James
This made me so heartbroken! It was so sad seeing all their faces and having Michelle confront him. They love each other so much in their weird teenage way.
I love James sm, he got the ending he deserved
what was that?
nriab23 he comes back
enya-carribean blue was the best ending theme for the finale...it makes it so emotional...
hisham sardar totally agree
"i have to do this" "but i don't want you to" "goodbye" "well fuck off then" is so real and heartbreaking dialogue
The entire time Mary wanted to smack that woman across the face 😂😂😂
I don't blame her, I couldn't stand her, James knew what everyone was saying about his mum was true but he just didnt want to admit it, he wanted to be like any other kid and a good mum who really cared about him, I was very happy when he decided to stay x
"she want you to help flog her f***ING stickers LOL! That line was HILARIOUS!
This episode left me in tears
Edit: Get fucked, I don't think I've ever received this many likes on a comment!
I freaking cried my eyes out at this ending. The way they all just hugged and walked past the TV, ignoring the Presidential ceremony they'd been looking forward to, because their favourite English prick decided to stay 😭❤️ James deserves all the love
😭❤
So nice for Michelle to show underneath all the teasing she has came to accept him as part of their unit loved that scene ❤️
Michelle really comes thru here!! Spends 2 series bitching about James then literally says what we all feel!! Love this bloody show
Ok but James’ haircut is so much better this season, it really makes a diff. Last series he was cute but that hair cut was just....ehhh. This series I was WOAH HES HOT.
I somehow ended up crying watching this.. 😭 After ten years of living in Derry, I can relate: Being a Derry girl really is a state of mind.
SO EXCITED TO SERIES 3!! Me and my sister were literally shouting ‘’ James you ARE a Derry girl ‘’ They were all so amazing in series 2 😂
I love how Mary treats James like she is her own son.
I bloody cried at this!
This wash such a fantastic program. Comedy writing like this is ironically such a rare thing . A show where one minute your sides are splitting at the foul mouthed comedy situation, and the next there’s a truly heartfelt scene like Michelle telling her cousin that she doesn’t want him to go back to England.
Shows like this with such a young cast by their nature can only be very short lived .
ha! my parents had those flying ducks on the wall. Gosh, these shows bring back so many memories. Thanks for the upload.
Gloria Wagener so did mine in the 50's 😅
I love wee James
every single actor in this series deserves an award I love all of them
"R u on glue". Classic!!!
