Your setup video is the best I’ve come across. Other videos focus on limiting performance just to save battery life, as if two extra batteries costing $20 and small enough to fit in your pocket isn’t an easy solution.
I bought a xt3 four year's ago if it wasn't for your amazing videos, I still will be scratching my head I am in the process of getting a xt 50, So thank you for all your help Rs
People are hating on the xt50 (pricing, which is understandable), and as far as the dial go, I can live with that. But I do think this is the perfect travel camera due to the size and weight, I just got back from a 2weeks Japan trip and it is a perfect fit.
Nice guidelines. I've had the camera for over 2 months and have fooled around with a lot of these settings and agree with most of them. I agree that some of the default settings are rather curious.
Great video, I’d like a button to save these settings, then after fiddling with things over time, press it to go back to a personal default. The number of times I’ve changed something deep in the menu then forgot !!
Please do an autofocus performance comparison: XT50 vs XT5 - I am curious if there is any difference given the internals are essentially the same, same processor/sensor.
Thanks for the video! Can you do a quick video on how to use the USB transfer (no wifi) with the new X app? I can't seem to make the app (iPhone 16) see my camera (X-H2S). Much appreciated!
Dr Chris, Very helpful! and changed same of my settings thx to you but I'm not a NOOB Fuji guy. Had a question for you, or anyone. Loving my X-T50 but mine has frozen or as we say, locked up randomly JUST a couple times. Has anyone else had a random freeze with this X-T50?. My quick fix was just take the battery out for a sec, then all ok again,...but was just curious if this is a known or common issue or, hoping I don't have a possible slightly defective camera , IThx...👍
Hi! I just got an XT50 and tried GPS function with my android/Fuji app. I kept the connection throughout the morning while taking pictures (with stable connection). Only the first picture GPS is correct. The subsequent pictures at different locations have the same GPS coordinates as the first pictures. My question is: do you have to reconnect the camera to phone anew every time you take picture? Thank you for posting everything about Fujifilm camera XT50.
Thanks a lot for this video! It was really helpful. Could you consider making a video on how to take the best panorama shots using the Panorama mode on Fujifilm cameras? I’m curious if it’s possible to get a result on the same level as some paid software, like Lightroom or PTGui, which can be quite expensive. Looking forward to your thoughts on this!
Excellent ! 3rd time I watch , invaluable source of information. Thank you. But there is somethings I didn't understand : I don't understand the menu entry Shooting Settings/page 2/IS Mode that have Continuos/Shotting only/Off and Q menu/IS mode which have IBIS/OIS and Off as options. If in the IS Mode menu entry I set it to Off, an icon (crossed hand) appears on display, which I understand. If in the IS Mode menu entry I set it to Shooting Only, no icon is displayed, regardless of IS mode on Q menu selection , even when on the Q menu , I set it to off. Why using the menu I can turn the IS mode off but not by Q menu ? And when there is not crossed hand icon on display, is the IS mode on for sure ? I appreciate if you could clarify this. Best regards,
Do you think an XT50 with a 27mm lens will produce a very similar look at an X100vi? Or is there a certain magic to the X100vi lens etc that would make me get that one? Trying to decide
I’m not a beginner and I hate functional buttons and dials. I’ve turned off as many as I can, including touch screen. Personally, I’d do the same as a beginner and only add them back if I found I was missing the ability to quickly access a particular setting. I think the advice on jpeg+raw is good but it depends on whether the user has any interest in post processing. I know someone who specifically bought into the Fuji system (an XT-20) because he just wanted to shoot and store his pictures using Apple Photos. I do shoot raw but I delete the file after processing into a TIFF file. Life is too short to keep the baggage of files you might one day revisit to reprocess and a TIFF gives you enough latitude to do a bit of tinkering anyway. Heresy I know!
@@carlosch524 I already find out how, just press the the trash can button at the upper left of the camera and you'll see a menu where you can switch from photo to video (using your joystick
This was the first and only video I did on the XT50. I had to return the loaner to Fuji, so there may not be any more of XT50 at least on this channel.
Thanks for the instructions! Right, the most important thing is Boost ON! My 2 cents on the content: Many good points , but Pre AF is completely unnecessary in my opinion, why should the focus work even if the camera is just lying somewhere, but it only switches off automatically after 2 minutes? But never mind, you can do it. But don't be surprised that the camera makes noise even when it's lying around if it's not completely switched off and the battery runs out more quickly: For what? The AF is fast enough without it! Pre-Capture is something else. This can be useful for catching the right moment. What has been forgotten is to set AF-C to focus priority. I also want sharp images with continuous shooting. And no, I don't get too few pictures with a modern X-T50. However, AF+MF ON is fatal in my opinion. I unintentionally switch to shutter priority at the same time and then wonder about blurred images. I would only switch AF+MF on in certain situations, e.g. on a tripod, and not forget to switch it off again afterwards.
Ok, obviously didn't realise, no reaction from the author. Then I'm curious to see which settings are recommended for the X-E5 and X-Pro4/5. Please don't recommend shutter priority and AF+MF On again... 🥴
I don’t even have an X-T50 but I wanna watch this because you’re so entertaining :)
Wow, thank you !!! 🙏 🙏
@@pal2techHi!! No problem :)

I just re-watched this video as I got my X-T50 only today. Thank you so much for all your content, it is so incredibly helpful for me ❤

Good video, thanks, long time Fuji user, had my XT50 for 3 months and loving it. Good to see some videos on XT50 not a lot has been done.
Thanks so much for making this! I bought a Fujifilm X-T50 when it was released and I’ve been waiting for your quick setup guide. 🎉

What lenses did you wear?
Thanks!

This is exactly what I was looking for so thank you for making this video and sharing your knowledge!

Will you make a video for the new 16-55 F2.8 lens?
You sir are a legend!
Thank you so much!!!
Thanks very much for all this. Useful and practical. Greetings from the other part of the world (cold)

Great, nicely timed reminders
will you make one of these when the XM-5 becomes more available?
Thanks Chris... I have T4... but was considered exchanging my T2 for a T50
Thinking about this or the X-T30MK2 as a second body... Lowkey, the X-M5 is an option too..

Ciao complimenti per i video, come impostare lo scatto a raffica o lo scatto singolo?
Grazie

In the app you need to change the GPS settings. You choose when the GPS signal needs to update: every 10 seconds, minute, 5 minutes etc

Hi, I just bought one. I need to transmit its image to a led screen on an event. How many batteries do I need to transmit a 3h event?
Thank you
Where’s your smallrig camera grip with the red shutter button?

Stuck between this or an XM5! Any commenters have suggestions given I’ll only do pictures and am trying to keep my setup super light?
