miss the natural background of vinyl. might sound petty, but this series is too real for greenscreen. either way, love these stories & hope to hear em all!
Watched every single one of these im so glad there back i love listen to Premo tell his stories his memory is photographic he can tell stories from 30 years ago i cant remember last week 😂
Right! He has the best memory. I know some of his stories that he's told before because he always tells them the same way. So you know he's not lying 😂
@@BackToTheBoomBaphe's captivating too, like I just watched an interview from him was like 2 hours 30 long and his enthusiasm and energy it wasn't boring once
I love when Premier diverts from his style and does something different. Because it shows that he doesn't have to be confined to one sound. It's also fun to be able to challenge yourself and creativity. Such a crazy remix.
You doing the “Almost Doesn’t Count” remix is one of my favorites that you’ve done, DJ Premier. I still play it to this day, and is a pure classic period!!
One of the greatest BUT, Preemo please, can we have more about the track, the sample, the session. Play the sample and transition it to the track like some of your shows. The syncing of the machines I get but I want to know more about the track.
agreed. He doesn't really have to talk about the sample if he doesn't want to (although of course I'd love to hear him talk about it). I definitely wanna hear more about the actual track itself: the subject matter, did he feel it fit the music, how the session went, how it was received by his peers, etc.
If someone rebuilt a studio as it was in the days when DJ Premier was making this remix, and he were to give a tour of it and demonstrate what it took to make a track with such a setup, that would be dope!! Salute DJ Premier regardless!
Premo maybe you should make a little video showing how the mpc and timeclock and sampler all connect together? The visuals would help people who don't understand from the way you explain it.
Salute to the big legend DJ Premier🫡! His production methods influenced (Hip-Hop) music around the world. Late 90s Brandy and R&B got me hooked as a teenager from Europe in a time where the internet wasn’t a present as today.
Premier and Guru (GANG STARR) are my all time favorite since 1989. If my mom did not sabotage me at a young age I would have had hits and also had the chance to meet my heroes (GANG STARR). Eventually others used the samples I wanted to use and made hits.
Yet another comment asking Premo if he has high quality archival backups of these floppy discs, because they are extremely fragile and the data on them definitely does not last forever. 🙏 I would travel to NYC and archive all of these in a highly secure and private way for you, for free, to make sure this priceless history is preserved forever.
Watch every episode since day 1, much love Preemo! You’re a legend, a GOAT, and everything in between. A suggestion I have (if it’s possible, maybe not because of licensing and rights etc) but when you explain how you put the floppy in the 950 and then triggered the sounds with the MPC, could you actually show us the sounds? Like some footage of you putting the disk in and loading it up and hitting the pads to hear the sounds that you used to eventually form the beat. Just an idea. Would be dope to see.
Nice, hadn't heard this one before. I probably wouldn't have even guessed it was a Premier remix had I heard it without knowing already. But then again those are some of the best kinds of beats when it's not immediately clear who did it, but it still ends up being someone notable.
These series would be better if Premo remade the beats or showed how he chopped the samples too. The stories behind the songs are amazing but I think that would make it next level
Dope . But if I could make one suggestion, could you please put a link in the description to the merch you wear, cause a lot of the stuff you wear, I cannot find like the cap you are wearing.
found a 12" promo of this a couple weeks ago at a warehouse I've been diggin' at. This place has tons of boxes of white label promos and test pressing of all genres
Thank you Premo for making a song that allowed me to connect with my then girlfriend's music. She bought the single, I played the Premo mix in the car lolol
DJ Premier is a major American composer 🎹
No way bro I had no idea, thanks for the comment so insightful
💯💯💯💯💯
American?!?!? What! No one told me. I'm shocked.
@@defcreator187would be crazy if he did.

Pleaae bring back the natural background, Preemo! Mad respect.

DJ Premier is the greatest producer of any genre. End of discussion! Thank you Premoo!!!
If someone rebuilt a studio as it was in the days when DJ Premier was making this remix, and he were to give a tour of it and demonstrate what it took to make a track with such a setup, that would be dope!! Salute DJ Premier regardless!
Premier has the simplest beats, but they're all that. Wouldn't want to add or subtract anything from them. ❤
Premo maybe you should make a little video showing how the mpc and timeclock and sampler all connect together? The visuals would help people who don't understand from the way you explain it.

Firrst. Greetings from Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹
Thank you Premo for making a song that allowed me to connect with my then girlfriend's music. She bought the single, I played the Premo mix in the car lolol
The best RnB joint Premier did is the Janet Jackson remix « together again ». This one is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I think the one he did for Craig David featuring Mos Def or the Guru & Donnell Jones ones is way better .. but taste & color 😉
I have this on WAX!!! DOPE REMIX!!!!!
I wanna be down, no lie that beat was dope and the full moon beat
