I feel like theyre so many guitarists in the skate community and so many skaters in the guitarist community, am i the only one that noticed? I mean jonny giger plays guitar, and i also heard that VL skate started their channel wity guitar videos

@@nathanstarkey8209 no, 02 is a power chord because, a power chord is index finger on the root note and ring finger on the 2nd note right? So using this, the open e and the b are a power chord.
Ooh afterwards you should lesrn stairway to heaven and play that in all the guitar shops even if theres signs sayin theyll kick u out for it like in my local one
I saw what my progress killer was, it was the crab pincer. Basically it means I suck at barre chords but can still play open chords. I have now been working on my barre chords. Thanks Charlie!
I messed up my finger & some days I cant play my bar chords, but what helped me is rolling my finger to the boney-er(???) part of your finger as you press the chords. & if you play electric, consider an acoustic for exercising since a lot of acoustics seem to require more pressure. & honestly dont stress it too much though just keep playing & enjoying it. One way or another it'll come to you!
Its a shame I can't post a pic , but helping my neighbour play i stuck yellow stick on dots on my guitar to the 5 pentatonic scales , with green dots as the root notes .That way he could finger the scale up and down the board. I took the dots off now but I still have the pic I took of my guitar with the dots on .I set it up from the 5th fret in A.
I agree Douglas! I too am a VIP member and this is exactly what Charlie does and his courses do...make you feel good about yourself and your guitar playing. He's so thorough but just gets to the point. Waste of time/money going anywhere else. Rock on!!
I really like how you charted the lick with the various colors. I know it's probably time consuming to edit in and won't work with some exercises/lessons, but can definitely see that being a helpful tool for keeping up/following along when possible. Is have 4 of their courses. But these short videos really do work. It’s a great tool for beginners improves dexterity and knowledge at the same time. I started with the chromatic scale picking up and down. At first my hand would cramp . The technic stretched my hand . Just like he said And now I came pick like second nature.
When I started hobbyist bedroom guitar noodling 23 years ago I intentionally self taught using open G and open E tunings. Over time I also became more and more familiar self teaching standard tuned guitar. Nice little instructional channel here and LOVE the tone of yer LP through whatever pedal/amp rig you're going through. I seriously broke the rules by first learning heavy open tuned guitar & some slide. Rule breaking is one of my favorite aspects of playing guitar and shall remain so until I check in to the next world..................oh and I also subscribed :)
As if I needed anything but my pasty complexion, long hair, and schmedium black tee to signal, "Yeah, I play guitar." Now I can bust this bad boy out and remove all freakin' doubt! Thx GMM.

This is great, been playing open chords for 20 years, only recently decided I want to learn to do licks like a real guitarist.. This will help me a lot..
To be honest its a great lesson. Way way back in the late 50s I learnt to.play Apache ( rhythm and lead ) No u Tube than .Took me months. Its great today to get this help.
I found this lick pretty useful in improv (especially slow blues sorta stuff) to go from second position (minor pentatonic) up towards first position. Nice!
More proof that the guitar as we know it is tuned to the 5 note scale also known as pentatonic minor 1st position or 5th position major. Love it!!! Happy new year! 🍻
