Today, I saw Dimitri Kuznetsov do something remarkable. Amidst the roar of gunfire, he paused to help a wounded German soldier. This act of mercy amidst the merciless battlefield left me puzzled. Heroes, they say, do not question their actions, yet Dimitri’s choices oscillate like a pendulum between compassion and ruthlessness. Is this what heroes are made of? This duality confuses me, blurring the lines between right and wrong.

The streets of Berlin are a maze of destruction, each corner echoing the horrors of war. Dimitri has become a figure of legend among the men, his deeds both revered and feared. His resolve in battle is unmatched, yet I've seen moments of hesitation, brief glimpses of a man wrestling with his own legend. These moments make him more real, more relatable. Perhaps it is this human aspect that makes him truly heroic, not the unyielding warrior others see.

The brutality around us grows each day. Acts that once seemed unthinkable have become commonplace. I've documented these horrors in these pages, a testament to the depths to which men can sink. Reznov seems unfazed, his eyes set on our objective, his heart hardened by losses too great to comprehend. I admire his strength, yet I fear the cost of such resolve.

Looking back at these pages, I see the journey of a soldier, a man caught between the deeds of heroes and the reality of war. I am changed, no longer the man who crossed into Germany with simple notions of right and wrong.
