Fair points on the vision aspect. Well put that a carbon copy of an EFT-like shooter is nothing without depth or their own syle and vision. Also, GmbH is basically the German version of "LLC" so their name is "Games of Tomorrow", the GmbH is just their legal desigination as a company that has to be published alongside their "display" name
BSG had a great vision and I love that they are pretty old school about the fact that they are hiding stuff from the players so these can discover the whole Tarkov universe by themselves but I would say that if you are a hardcore player like I used to be when I was a kid playing Zelda OOT, not looking at any guide and such, you sadly really have to have no life at all. Dying constantly to (yes cheaters but) other players when you're just trying to find Jaeger's note in the middle of the woods without a guide would take you dozens of hours. Yes I like their old school approach to developing this game but I think the problem here is that EFT's endgame was made for people that have no life outside of gaming which is a relatively new way of making games, especially since online games became a popular thing. The solo extraction/stalker-like semi realistic looter/shooter games is definitely a niche that I want gaming dev studios to explore and I agree that Incursion seems a little bit like a soulless project and I wish that a studio other than BSG and GSC would try to brainstorm and have an original vision for a new game that would be part of that niche. I honestly have a really hard time seeing that happening these days though.

Do NOT blindly listen to this guy, form your own opinions. $14 is a couple of beers. This game is fun where it’s at now with nearly daily updates and fixes (very active devs) it’s promising. You may not want to act on “promising” but if you look at their roadmap you will see it won’t be barebones like this for much longer, at least not of the same extent. Also, it looks like you are playing the game on essentially the lowest settings. The game looks and plays way better than you are making it seem to be. The game is built on UE5 and has lumen built in. Tarkov runs like shit.

I almost 100% disagree. At the moment the cost is equivalent to a few coffees or beers. There is something here. There are just under 20 weapons and plenty of attachments. There is a few hours of some looting and reasonable shooting mechanics here. Games clone and imitate each other all the time. Fortnite was a soulless ripoff of PUBG before they found their vision. EFT was arguably in a far worse state and it launched asking for far more than this. I don’t see how comparing the two side by side at this moment helps at all. Of course the game has some placeholders for some systems. And it is arguable at point a game should become early access but I would at least imagine that the product will grow because of the revenue injection. It is clearly not a scam like some other rip offs and there is genuinely some love and attention put into the animations. Even if they do borrow ideas from EFT. There will be a group of players who want a single player extraction shooter. I find it strange that you so overtly oppose money changing hands at this point.

This is not the day before - their pricepoint also shows that they are aware what they are delivering at this point and they where transparent about this (free demo a few weeks ago) Potential is big but the vision seems to be small and thats why some people might need to wait for buying this. This game has been super fun for me. In the video you only use a base AK. Customization of the guns is pretty much just like Tarkov when you rank up the factions. The devs also have an active discord with the players and are pushing out updates at a very nice pace. Compared to all the other early alpha builds that have released this one is by far the best. Can’t wait to see where this game goes. Game is also the same price as a Big Mac meal so it’s 100% been worth it to me so far. Also you can change the difficulty of the AI in the options and they even have a custom settings for the AI that has a lot of options you can mess with.
I'm glad you're enjoying the game, and I do hope the devs run with the idea of a singleplayer extract shooter, but I stand by the title of the video. Cheap or not, players shouldn't be giving cash to a developer on a gamble. Naturally, this doesn't extend to you since you're enjoying the game anyway, but I don't believe most players are going to have the experience most of the reviews would lead them to believe they would. Either way, this game becoming great would be a win for everyone, so I'm keeping my eye on it.

The thing you didn't mention about Tarkov is that it is filled to the breaking point with cheaters who are actively ruining the game for everyone. Tarkov in its ideal state is fun, but it is currently far from enjoyable or playable simply due to the currently volume of cheaters filling every single raid. GLHF? Nah. Just GL, you're about to have your stuff stolen by cheaters.

I’m sorry, you either haven’t played that much or you’re heavily biased. Sure, Tarkov has great sounds in it, but the sound design has been shit since forever. Pop ins, no footsteps, shitty directional audio and so on. And how can you say with a straight face that Tarkov runs smooth…there are people who can’t play streets, 2 years after it was released. I’m still hard crashing on lighthouse, and I got a beefy pc. Streets barely runs between 60-90 fps and I crash on it too, I’ve upgraded my pc in hopes tarkov would run better, and it sometimes does but still crashes like crazy. Don’t oversell tarkov. It’s a great game and one of my favourite shooters of all time, but it’s issues are no joke and they should be properly pointed out, especially if somebody is looking to buy the game.
Also Tarkov has for some people the big flaw, always online and always multiplayer - thats the only argument that counts in this debate i think - even IF tarkov would run smooth, the games are just not comparable - i would say the moment tarkov makes an official singleplayer mode most of these solo extraction shooter projects would be in big trouble - but right now tarkov is no competition when the only thing you really want is "definitly not online pvp"

Popularity isnt a measure of class, but given my initial opinion on the game, the fact that it can only hold about 100 concurrent players at the moment doesn't suggest it's gotten much better. I'd say spend your money elsewhere.
This was hard to listen to, I think you made up your mind before playing this game, and you're running with it, and while yes, UI is a clear copy of EFT, this is not the only game to do so, and it wont be the last, "GZW" for a hint, however after playing this game myself for 18.5 hours, I can say it is fun, graphics look pretty fine on my system. The AI needs work, but EFT had the same issue right out of the gate, also EFT also had just one map at launch, but talking about item description, I can't tell what you want, you want detail but not to much detail, you want information but left vague, but because both say similar, one is clearly ripping off the other, when both are quoting a small snip from the history of the item. Also IRR is not a competitive game, it will be played however someone wants to play it, so having a spreadsheet or numbers isn't going to hurt anyone, and people will find a meta, which is something EFT don't want, mainly because it's an online game. I kinda feel like reviews like this can do massive damage to new game devs, their team I believe have 14 people total, I personally thing this is a great game, and sure they might have jumped the gun putting it out in it's current state, I do not feel like I have been scammed or like I have wasted my money, is it for everyone? No, but it scratches that EFT itch without having to worry about cheaters. Sorry for the rant, but I don't think this review was fair.

Anyway, None of this makes sense, None of the enemies look like anything you would see in Vietnam from gear to weapons to Uh60's, Russian GAZ Tigers, Ural-63095 Typhoon-U and BTR-82A's? Yes Russia does help Vietnam with some areas, But they don't have these and even if they did it would look nothing like this. It's poorly made game with a poor vision with even poor development, Nothing will ever beat Tarkov or even be on par with it.

Truth is though, even the worst game can be fun in multiplayer and removing that from tarkov basically you have a huge void to fill. This can be done in several ways but none of them have been implemented yet into this game. The voidfillers could be - a cool story, very dynamic and cool UI, Huge progression systems, total immersion, and so on. problem is that they have not shown what they want this game to be in the end - will it be like this with "just" more content? - their roadmap for the 2 years is pretty barebones. So i would not hope for this to become a huge title with lots of replayability but still for 13 dollar i could see you get your moneys worth if you just want to shoot and loot in solo or coop

Yes, it just got released and as a released product that asks for money, it should be fully finished and working. Don't release unfinished crap or make it free to play as long as it isn't done.
a very eye opening review. one of the first besides bigfrys first one that rails on it for what it should be railed on. i played project quarentine its alpha model i guess, it was, shallow. yes it was offline tarkov we have at home. like you were saying its a husk with braindead ai that isnt fun to kill. thanks for a cool review that makes sense. got my sub. algo did well here
Such a smug video, feels like a tarkov fanboy whining towards a chill game, even says go play a 45$ system wrecking game where you will have fun sweating it out with campers and cheaters, This is the worst breakdown of a product. If 13$ is a gamble, I would not put 5$ in tarkov just because it is a very demanding game with people breaking sweat and being competitive.
