    Thanks Stuart for taking the time to make a more in depth video of the process. Really helpful for myself who has done the course at the LSA a few years ago but never had the opportunity to gain experience from others. Looks like you managed to remove the mortar without destroying the tray damp. Have to ask did you train as a plumber who specializes in leadwork or solely as a leadworker ? Only ask as met plumbers recently who apprantly do leadwork to as well as the guy that taught me at the LSA

      No worries. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. It really helps the channel out.
      Yes I managed to get the mortar out ok. It just leaves a bigger joint than normal to point back in. In 27 years I’ve only been on a couple of jobs were the bricklayers haven’t installed the tray like this.
      No I’ve only ever done lead work. Straight from school.

    Enjoying your videos. Can I ask what the building paper does?

    • @slbleadworks
      @slbleadworks  Рік тому +1

      Thank you.
      The building paper protects the underside of the lead from alkalis in the stone and concrete.
      It also reduces corrosive attack when laying onto plywood and oak.

    Hi Stuart when setting out your wood rolls would you not put them directly on the angles? I guess it would make an angle in the drip below the roll end

    • @slbleadworks
      @slbleadworks  Рік тому +1

      You can to that but it’s easier to have them to the side on the angle if you can. But really there’s not much in it.
