think you meant to match up that part of megadeth "return to hangar" with the part that happens at 9:40 in "seventh son"(timestamp for this reaction video)
never noticed that before
but what i did notice was if you listen to "the prophecy" from this same album at 2:23 the rhythm guitar behind the solo is the same as the solo in "hanger 18" which, interestingly, also starts at 2:23
i think its safe to say that mustaine was inspired by this album considering this
YES!!!!! Thank you for this !
Really good ear. There was definitely inspiration even if they aren't identical. "The Prophecy" backing rhythm goes "D5 - Eb5 - G5 - D5" while the backing in "Hangar 18" is an arpeggiation that goes "F5 - G5 - F5 - E5".
Very different but similar sounding.

Why you never listened - Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner ? 🤔
@@Surfer-iv4qs so many good maiden songs give him time lol
🙏
I dedicated Heaven can wait to my son that was born with a heart defect the doctors didn't notice. Had him home 2 weeks before we noticed something wrong, and spent the next month and a half pretty much living at the hospital, while he was fighting for his life. 19 years later and he's a grown man I'm proud of, but that song was my spiritual fight song for him.
Hell yes, I'm happy it worked out for you.
Aw tears! Of happiness of course.
I hope he lived to 200
Live long and proper
Awesome bro !!!!!!!!!
Infinite Dreams and The Prophecy from the same album. The entire album is a concept for a story.
Also the Clairvoyant
He should also check out "Can I Play With Madness"
Indeed. This is one of those albums that you really have to listen to it in it's entirety to enjoy the full experience.
My favorite Maiden album
Maiden rocks.......my band releasing songs soon.....it will be new music weall will dance
Maiden RULES .. This girl took guitar lessons for 6.5 years since 1999, because of their epic passion and skill. Maiden girl forever!!! 41 years self taught keyboard musician. I love MAIDEN and they inspired this girl. I genuinely love them.
The Seventh Son album is an absolute masterpiece I can't even comprehend how anyone could put together something like this.
It’s hard to comprehend. I’ve been trying. All those wasted years…
Thats STEVE FOOKIN HARRIS bro !!! ❤
It's really not that difficult. Maybe it's because I'm a musician, specifically singing and drummer. Iron Maiden is very easy to do.
@@mrmanakin9684 Your talking about covering the songs, but they created the songs
T, can never go wrong with Maiden! Up the Irons!
Steve Harris holdin it down...this concert tour was amazing!!!
Best album ever written, any genre. long live the kings.
Maybe not best album but best group ever.
@@kieranlillis7121 To me SSOASS is Maidens best work.
I have this as my favorite Maiden album. The theatricality and production is just phenomenal. It seems so crisp.
@@kaywill9677 Been a Maiden fan since early 82. I have listened to all the 80's albums thousands of times each. To me SS is the greatest album ever written.
@@paisteplayer1040 Powerslave is either tied or a close second for me. Both are unskippable.
"Out of the Silent Planet" from the "Brave New World" album is awesome!
That whole album man. My 2nd favorite after powerslave
Brave New World itself is also super cool. Like the melody in the beginning gives me chills
@@unchz BnW is one of my favorite Maiden records
@@mtafferme too, it's so different
Is it bad that the only albums I like less than Brave New World are Killers, Virtual XI, X Factor, Final Frontier, & No Prayer for the Dying
This is definitely Maiden's greatest album. Give it a listen from start to finish as it's a concept album of a whole story culminating in the fantastic and overlooked 'Only the Good Die Young'
'Piece of Mind' is Maiden's best album. For certain.
I agree it's second album I bought from them back in Greece when it came out
Seventh Son and Somewhere In Time are the two best albums for me. Piece of mind is like top 10 for me, I rather listen to Brave New World.
"Seventh son of a seventh son, try saying that seven times fast."
Bruce Dickinson: " So it shall be written, so it shall be done!"
( I think he actually sings it eight times fast, twice during the song.)
its worth watching the live version of this from 1988, the solos are faster and adrian smith fills in the gaps with the tremolo, probably my favorite solo from him
Give some love to our man on the skins, man. Nikko McBrain holds together the whole ship with some FANCY f*in' beats!
These solos show why Smith and Murray are two of my favorite guitarists of all time. Been playing for more than 30 years and they still amaze me how good these guitar work was/is.
An absolute masterpiece, very powerful. So much emotion and talent in Maiden songs.
I forgot how good this song is...haven't heard it for years
The album is a concept album. The next track on the album is "The Prophecy". You should give that a listen as well which continues the story. Great reaction and "Up the IRONS!" \m/\m/
And has a beautiful acoustic outro that sounds like it would be played in a tavern in Skyrim
What I love about Maiden in the abstract is that they write and sound mentally mature, whereas some other metal bands are quite juvenile in their content. Because of this, I'm still listening to and loving maiden 35+ years after discovering them. Some of the other bands? No so much.
Same! I can’t stand all that bubblegum crap and the new stuff... not much worth 2 cents. As I got older a LOT of what I thought was cool went to the back burner.
More talent in one of there songs then in 100 other metal bands put together.
Maiden is by far my all-time favorite metal band but Judas Priest and Black Sabbath also hold up for me about 40 years later, but I agree other's lost their shine as I grew older.
I remember being around 14 when this came out. This album was so deep and rich. I studied the liner notes and counted the word "seven" 49 times (7x7). Perfect.
In 2013 I took my eldest son to his first concert for his birthday. Megadeth and Iron Maiden. Yes I am the best dad. There are similarities in those songs for sure, they certainly had influence on each other I’m sure. Check out my Maiden Patreon, “Alexander the Great”.
I was planning to do it back to back with this song but I figured no one would want to jam with me for 20+ minutes. I'll have it uploaded by friday. I hope all is well with you.
@@TheAdventuresofTNT Great! From the Seventh Son album, the opening track Moonchild is incredible! The buildup is soooo good! Then it explodes! In the 2013 concert, they opened with that song and it killed!!!
This one is a complete album. It is very worth listening start to finish (the songs make a lot more sense in context and is one of their best albums)
This entire album is Incredible...!
But "Infinite Dreams" is the sh!t...!
Best song on the album, one of the best Iron maiden songs period
@@poggerwhite I'm not even a "big" fan of Maiden, but that album is a masterpiece that I've listened to 1000's of times.
I sang Infinite Dreams In a metal band in Germany called Mystery!! Awesome response! Great song!!!
@@andreasfulcher8090 That's Awesome..!
I believe Seventh Son of A Seventh Son is one of Iron Maiden's most beautiful works!!
Hey T, you totally nailed it on that same transition with the Megadeth song🤘
I heard it as soon as you played it!!
This was my request so I’m on journey for next gem to send ya 🤘
Glad ya liked 🤘
Iron Maiden and Dream Theater have transcended the material world with their music.
The end of this song is so good the reactor was left speechless lol.
Wow, great analysis. I went to middle school and high school in the 90's. Surrounded by hordes of alternative rock, grunge and hip-hop fans, I was a lone voice in the wilderness declaring the greatness of Iron Maiden. It's really interesting to see how so many people, especially younger people, are discovering them now. Catching Maiden on the radio used to be like a UFO sighting when I was growing up, it was enough to drive me into a furor in those rare instances that it was played. I loved your thoughtful description of what makes this song work and why Maiden is so good and it was great to see the enthusiasm of a (relatively) new fan. Up the Irons!
I can imagine a 10 minute song on the radio in the 90s was not gonna happen. I've noticed that in the 90s till now , songs have become shorter and shorter.
This song is the favourite song for a LOT of people…. I’ve heard it literally HOUNDREDS of times, and I still love it!
This is tremendous Art and so beautiful💗🎼🎸
Seventh son came out before hangar 18
There's a few live versions of this song that are absolute dynamite. Album is almost tied with Somewhere In Time as my favorite. Love that synthy proggy era for the band.
I'm 54 and this was in my Tape deck in 1987/88 , I loved the Mystical verses . I felt I lived in a special Time and as I cruised around in my Honda Accord I'd scream along with Bruce .
Iron Maiden is the best (live;) BAND in the world;-)
Up the mighty Irons!!!!
Released in 1988 Seventh Son of a Seventh Son is a great Iron Maiden album, I saw the tour for this album, ... they had an up & coming band called Guns n Roses as opening act on this tour, .... great show as always.
Infinite Dreams from this same album is another masterpiece.
11 live gigs going back to 1982 and they are the soundtrack to my life. Great band
It was named seventh son of a seventh son because this was their 7th album. I rode my bicycle 8 miles to Ames department store to buy this cassette tape with money I received from mowing lawns when I was 13. This whole album is amazing and yes Megadeth was a killer band also.
In the solo section of Seventh Son, the time signature goes back and forth between 11/8 and 13/8, giving it that "rollercoaster" feel.
Why I've been a Iron Maiden fan for 35-40 years is because they tell a story with song and music.
Love your reactions and so glad you are still doing it. Keep up the great work. All the best from Northern Ireland.
Got me through basic training back in 89 🤘🤘🤘 Best story telling band ever 👍
Seventh Son was my first Maiden concert! My friends and I had 6th row on the floor!!! Not bad for a first Maiden concert....lol...And some years later, I was grateful enough to have met the whole band!
i started playing drums in 1990 and i developed my hihat technique and stamina with the hit hat pattern that start at 5:07 it is very challenging to play, it require lot of stamina and practice.
I, also, started playing drums (on a proper kit, that is) in 1990...I was 15. I remember buying a copy of Maiden England Live on VHS and the section of Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son you're talking about. I knew as soon as I had heard it on the album that you'd need forearms like Popeye to pull it off lol I've always been a big fan of Nicko's creativity and ingenuity...he's actually one of my favorite single bass drummers.
Up The Irons!!
🤘
Love your reaction to this song. It has always been one of my favourites, a true masterpiece!
Your responses give me so much hope. These early maiden songs are what those of us growing up in the late 80's early 90's latched on to. Everything about them is just so flexible. The music doesn't care who you are. It just flexes it's muscles for all of us and lets us fill in the blank and enjoy it.
It's funny you call this one "early Maiden". I get what you're saying though since it was the late 80's, and they were still pretty much in their prime. On the other hand, it is their 7th album and when I think early Maiden, I think Number of the Beast, Killers, Piece Of Mind...Oh well, it's still VERY easy on the ears.
On of my favorite songs growing up!! I’m a 80’s kid! From Cincinnati Ohio USA!! 🇺🇸👊🏻
This is Maiden's intro into progressive music. It is my favorite album of theirs. truly great. Showed what they could really do.
This is music worth listening to my brother. The best band of all time.
The ending of She Wolf by Megadeth also sounds very much influenced by Maiden. Listen to Crionics by Slayer, you’ll definitely hear the influence too. The beginning and ending riffs sound similar to parts of Maiden’s Transylvania, but in different keys.
Iron Maiden: *does something*
this guy: *laughs*
I love this Album..It sure takes you on a journey!!! Thanks for bringing it to peoples attention!! It`s a classic!! ..You really gotta do "The evil that men do ! "
Watching the theatricks of this one live is insane
My favourite Maiden album by far
Great Reaction! I love watching you discover these songs so I can re-discover them. Please react to Can I Play with Madness or Moon Child. These are the best songs on this album.
^ This, .......I do like 7th son too though, it's a lot of fun to play on guitar.
The best album and the best track 👍
This song got me into metal and Maiden. Other Maiden songs helped, but this was the one that transformed me.
Met Steve Harris last year. It was Epic. Do Rime of the Ancient Mariner.
He's already done rime
Esta es una de las mejores canciones de Iron maiden...Un deleite para los oídos...!!!
"Dance of the Death"....live En Vivo! 👍👍👍👍
Yo ! i LOVE maiden since my childhood, but i'm LOVING MORE watching you enjoying their's music !
up the irons ! keep it reeeeeaaaaalll
Love how your hair goes all wild when headbanging !!
It's so good hearing the young enjoying Maiden. True music.
I saw them live at the Wembley Arena in their Seventh Tour of the Seventh Tour.
Amazing.
For me, and i have said that many times before, this is their best ever almbum.
I saw them on this tour at Wembley Arena, was only 15 and went with my brother and his mates, best band ever to see live 👍
Check out The Wicker Man from Iron Maiden at Rock In Rio 2001
I've "ALWAYS" said that this is one of my favorite Iron Maiden songs!!!!
I'd like to see your wife's reaction to Maiden's 22 Accacia Avenue;) Great song with amazing solos and outrageous (in those days) lyrics.
I met these guys
..thanks to my good friend Reiner if ANVIL.
Hangin with maiden Hamilton Ontario was mind blowing
Your reactions are the best my friend. Watching your infectious smile makes me smile.
Epic song !
I saw these guys in concert a couple of years ago, they still kick ass 🤘
Love this album. I was 13 when it came out. It was in regular rotation on my cassette walkman when I had my paper route.
Seventh son of a seventh son album is top 5 for every metalhead
Been my favorite band since Killers album
Please check Alexander the Great too!!!
"I wanna hear this shit!".. Oh don't worry, you will....
SSoaSS if my favorite Maiden album. It's weird, there are many die hard Iron Maiden fans who aren't a fan of this album, and many others think it's their favorite. I think it's whole prog metal element that some people can't really get into.
In my opinion this is THE Iron Maiden album for musicians. It has no bad songs, and some of Bruce's best vocals. About 25 years ago when I was in high school, I had this cd in my truck for like a month or two straight. Lol I couldn't get enough of it.
Bought the tape back in 88 when I was 13. Awesome album. Wish I could have those first listenings again.
My opinion, the greatest metal band ever.
Definitely to come out of U.K.
Yeaaaaahhhhh bro, one of the best Maiden's songs ever! Nice reaction! The instrumental part just blew you away, I saw that!
This album and cassette insert is why i have loved and studied ancient egypt. To this day theres a place in my heart for that time n culture.🤘
my 1st Maiden song 30 years ago, ever since nothing can top it , in any music genre . Undisputed champion
I remember picking this up in the store when it came out and played it over and over and still do today.
Every maiden album is a treat
I've seen them 4 times and they put on an amazing show
Hell yeah man!!!...love ur reaction vids!!...Ghost B.C. just covered phantom of the Opera by Iron Maiden!!! Listen to the original and then listen to the ghost cover it is killer!!!!...thank u man!!!...UP THE IRONS!!!!! I've been a IRON MAIDEN fan since I was 12 years old... 1984 I listened to powerslave and Rime of the Ancient Mariner..... And I've been a Iron Maiden / heavy metal fan ever since.... I actually listen to led Zeppelin Uriah Heep and Black Sabbath before then but that was my total turning point for heavy metal.... I love it and maidens been my favorite band for a long time..... in all the years I've got to see them about 12 times....... The last time I seen them was in Charlotte North Carolina on June 21st up 2012 on the maidan England tour.... Charlotte was the first show on the tour
Megadeth opened a few concerts to MAIDEN in 7th son tour, including the legendary Monsters of Rock. It is really possible they've got influenced by 7th son in Return to Hangar.
Love this track. Listened to it many a time. If you're listening on headphones, there's an amazing part where the guitar sound shifts from left to right. Always wondered how they produce this effect.
My mother said that when she was young she had burned her legs quite badly with boiling water. According to my mother, a woman was brought to see her...a 7th daughter of a 7th daughter. Mom claims the lady talked (in tongues, if I'm not misremembering) the fire out of her blistered legs, and that said blisters peeled off like a common sunburn the next day revealing normal pink skin underneath. I have no idea as to the accuracy of her account, but I can tell you that she believes it absolutely.
Whoa.
Up the irons !
my all time favourite iron maiden album. I bought it on cassette way back in the 80s when I was about 13.
FYI cool reaction my friend 😎
I subscribed
You rock out to this song JUST like I do. I’ll sing the chorus for days pretending to sing proper. 🤩 Your reaction is awesome. Keep up the great work! Up the Irons!!
To Tame A Land. Epic Bass
I couldn't of said I better myself brother. I just discovered your channel today, however I'm 43 and have been jamming Maiden since I was 5 thanks to some cool ass uncles and cousins of mine. I happy welcome you to the Maiden family and the metal community. And I look forward to binging the fuck out of your channel . Up the irons!
Iron Maiden fan since the EARLY 1990's. They are simply the greatest.
Hi there Adventures of TNT, I love Iron Maiden. I don't care who they are, I don't believe that they are a true Iron Maiden fan, if they haven't heard Daughter to the slaughter, and Alexander the great, and more to mention, I would love to hear them songs, and also AC/DC, TNT with Bon Scott, + Flick of the switch Brian Johnson, AC/DC. True AC/DC fans will know that there was 3 LEED singers. Keep up the good work 👍🇦🇺 from Dave.
This is one of my favourite tunes
Yeah it’s the rhythm it breaths!
Yo T!!! this is my favorite Iron Maiden Song! THANK YOU SO FUCKIN MUCH BRO!
I love this song… I actually wore out the LP and cassette when I bought them in the day
There is reason why I still say that 7th son of 7th son has best guitar riffs ever...
.....
....
BECAUSE IT HAS BEST GUITAR RFFS EVER.
Insane MASTERPIECE! Up the Irons❤
Keep on jamming to maiden they do not disappoint
