    The RS is the bike 90% of people who buy the GS should actually buy.

      The GS is as fun as making out with a sister....

    I do like the look of the new 1200GS. Some great tech on it and a nice look too. Plenty of choice too with the range. I am thinking about changing my 800GS, but not for another 2 years. Anyway, seems like you're happy, which is always the main thing.

    Fair play to ya, good review. You would swear from reading certain online forums (including some Irish ones) that all bmw's arent reliable. Personally, prefer it over the GS.

    I know what you mean in terms of chopping and changing with these things. I had an R80GS Dakar for exploring fire trails, backroads. Shaft drive brilliant all round bike. Upgraded to an R100GS for the update to shaft drive arm. Bigger, heavier, harder to pick up in the mud. Should've stayed with the R80GS.

    Good video, thank you. Thinking about one of these at the moment. Currently got a 2018 F800GS, and I can guarantee, no matter how much you think your bike dives under braking, it is nothing like the dive my F800GS has.

    • @tibork3845
      @tibork3845 4 роки тому

      Can you adjust the shocks to at least make them any harder to help with the dive? I am lucky to have an older RS which still does have the telelever and that is one of the main things why I am not moving up to the new RS because it doesn't have that. I think that's a very necessary thing especially when you're braking with a passenger behind you and extra loads for trips.

      @@tibork3845 I bought the 2016 R1200RT LE in the end. Lovely machine 👌

      @@tojj29 Congrats, those are great bikes too and the RT was my second choice bike. The only reason I settled with the RS is because it's just slightly easier to handle for daily communing to work -- when I retire probably will get an RT and do more and longer trips. Congrats again and have great rides with the RT!

    I rode a 2019 XR yesterday and it was loads of fun, however, the buzzy bars, seat, and pegs were a turn off for me. I really like my ‘18 GS Rallye, but will be trading for a new RS when the new model hits my dealership in August. I’m addicted to the new TFT, so I have to wait for the 1250 RS to hit...

  • @ReferenceFidelityComponents

    Fit wider tubular bars and risers and a high seat for improved legroom and you have a GS beating all rounder. I like the older dash. It’s simple and clear. Most of these tft screens are way too cluttered with too much information and take your eyes off where you should be looking. Fit a Navi6 and you have your tft (effectively) . The RS is way better value used. Just bought a 2018 model 7K under new price with 5k on the clock. If it’s half as good as my older GSA I’ll be a happy man.

      7k for that much bike is good going. I do miss this bike.

    Great video - really enjoyed that. Just put a deposit down on one of these (SH) so watching lots of UA-cam while I wait to pick it up. Anyway, might have missed it but can I ask what mileage you did?

    • @Grumpybikewizard
      @Grumpybikewizard  6 років тому

      Just over 20k on it now 3 years on. Not huge mileage but not a peep out of it anyway.

    Does look real nice, question being a noob and all :) do you need that much power or is that something you could do without ? are you well protected wind wise on highways ?

    • @Grumpybikewizard
      @Grumpybikewizard  6 років тому +2

      The thing with more power in a bike (up to a point) is that it's there when you need it. I could sit my fat ass on this bike with 50kg of gear and it'd ride the exact same as if it had a wee skinny lad on it, and that does count for something.
      The screen is grand, it spreads the air nicely rather than trying to cover you completely which I think is hard to get right, I mention it in the original review from 2 years back.

    Hi mate what size is the tank and how many miles do you get out of a tank. Thanks for a very good review

    • @Grumpybikewizard
      @Grumpybikewizard  6 років тому

      18l tank, I get close to 300km on a tank or so, depends how you ride it tbh.

    R&G do a shoe which fits on the side stand for xtra support.

      @Grumpybikewizard  6 років тому

      Yep, they don't recommend it for the lowered model. Although I've never had a bother with the regular stand.
