More than that. Julia is both envious and resentful of Dr. Lang because he has succeeded in helping Barnabas where she couldn't and Lang is occupying a good deal of Barnabas's time and Julia feels left out.
Angeliques hold on Roger may be getting stronger each day but Vicki sure enough knew what to do to snap Roger back into the present from his trance of being Joshua from the past. Jeff doesn't have any knowledge of his past with Vicki from 172 years past as Peter but he is attracted to Vicki and definitely is in love with her.
Well, Vicki thinks Barnabas was going to marry her, but I think he was going to turn her into a vampire to accompany him through eternity. Perhaps Barnabas would have put Vicki on an altar of an abandoned church to turn her in a bizarre blood wedding ritual, as he tries to do to Maggie in the movie "House of Dark Shadows," if they had not had the accident on the way to Eagle Hill cemetery, but then again Barnabas indicated that they were under a time crunch to get to the ship and settle in before dawn. Perhaps Barnabas would have agreed to have the ship's Captain marry them before he turned Vicki if there had been time. The way events unfolded after the accident, I guess we'll never know what would have happened if there had been no accident since near the end of the scene in this video clip, Vicki says that she is not going through with marrying Barnabas.
@@HalySolomonMarriages are "until death do you part." When Barnabas died, that ended his marriage to Angelique even though he subsequently was resurrected as an undead creature. Furthermore, if there is doubt about that, Angelique also died which would also end the marriage even if Angelique is resurrected. In the Gospel of Matthew, 22:30 Jesus says: "For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage" and also makes similar statements in Mark 12:24 and Luke 20:34-36. Although of secondary importance to what I said above, Joshua said that in addition to eliminating Angelique's name from the family history, he was going to have Barnabas' and Angelique's marriage annulled. The show never showed him annulling the marriage, but since he followed through with eliminating Angelique's name from the family history, there is no reason to suppose that he did not follow through with the annulment of the marriage.
I thought the same thing about it not making sense for Angelique to make Roger think he is Joshua to do her bidding since Joshua hated Angelique, and of all the folks at Collinwood in 1795, he had the strongest willpower with which to resist Angelique. Why even make Roger think he is someone else when she could control him as Roger without tipping off others that there is something wrong? Because of this, now Vicki knows that Angelique is controlling Roger through the painting and Elizabeth suspects that something is wrong with Roger. To me, this seems like a blunder that Angelique would be too smart to have made, and is a result of poor writing for this particular part of the plot in my opinion.

@@HalySolomon What you say about this being unfair to Joshua actually brings up a point I hadn't considered previously. Perhaps having Roger think he's Joshua is Angelique's way of also exacting some small measure of revenge on Joshua by having him look like a pompous ass and having his wishes and edicts ignored or countermanded by the people he encounters. This is the kind of petty thing Angelique might do to amuse herself even though it does make it harder for her to accomplish her main goal of keeping Barnabas under her curse.
Vicki's eye makeup and hairstyle are so flattering! She's absolutely gorgeous!
0:10-0:35 Dr. Lang guarantees Barnabas that he can find a permanent cure for him, but Barnabas has that look of doubt and skepticism.
Dr. Lang is the best part of these episdes, addison powell was an excellent character actor in his day.
