hello, my name is mason and i am 13, me and my friends convinced the principal to let us make a dnd club, i had to show this to my friends who never played before.
Watching this desperately because my DM keeps blowing me off whenever I ask her about helping me fill out my character sheet (our first campaign is literally on Saturday)

The play style of the group was horrible and not my vibe, one of our party members kept going nonverbal then disappearing into the house, we could never meet, the last time we scheduled a meeting the whole group canceled 20 minutes after it was supposed to start and then my dog died not even two hours later. Safe to say i should’ve took my original comment as a sign

This is the first video that did an AMAZING job explaining it in a very short time!! All the others are like "you wont need this right now" or "well get back on this in a later video"
OMG. I finally got it somewat. I could cry. I watched so many videos and it was all just mumbo jumbo to me (I am a slow learner) And this was the most helpful to me. Thanks I lot.
I like to make unique fun characters. Like an "otherkin" who is an half-elf but believes he is a cat. Thing is, he's a druid so sometimes he IS a cat. It's fun to go into a tavern and order 6 ales, then slowly push them off the table and watch them fall. Or ordering a bowl of milk to drink. Getting into a bar fight, having someone knock you milk onto the floor, looking at it and saying; "well there's no use crying over that" After a hard battle going back to the inn casting summon woodland creatures; kittens. "I'm taking a kitten break." Also chasing dancing lights spells, as close as we get to a laser pointer.

To go along with this great info would be a DnD A5 journal with character sheet and pages to track your progress in the campaign. Where sheets could be replaced. Would love to see this build.
I can't believe Maddie puts the ability scores in the tiny boxes and the modifiers in the big boxes. Big boxes for big numbers and small boxes for small numbers!

The character sheet really does get in its own way more often than not. The players guide should consider adding a diagram with page numbers on how to fill it out

Hey I am confused because why did you add your highest points in dexterity and charisma and not dexterity and intelligence I don’t understand and I’m trying to make a barbarian gnome
It was a character choice. I mention how my rogue isn’t actually as smart as other rogues, but makes up for it by being very charismatic. He charms people into thinking he is smart instead.
Yea, na 4 mintues in half of what shes has sounds made up and theres MATH involved.? This product of the california school system knows when to call it and plug back in the nitendo switch.
Have to agree with atlas3611 here. You are playing a TTRPG with dices and you think it involves no math? I sure hope you don't think something like Buckshot roulette doesn't involve math because it does. Also. It is very basic math. If you have issues with this level of math, you are going to have serious issues in life.

how do you know all the weapons are dexterity based
Dexterity-based weapons will have the ‘finesse’ tag, which means they can be wielded with dexterity OR strength
High quality roques are very undervalued and hard to find, being one myself i can spot a good one instantly....you got my vote clever

how do you adjust the stats?
anyone know what the +3 is at 7:32 example, 1d4+3 piercing
It's the dexterity modifier. Most weapons use the strength modifier, but if they have the "Finesse" property, you can use Dexterity instead.
