The arcane deck isn't super helpful. It's missing any subclass specific spells that all warlocks get which means you need every single deck for those extra spells since the warlocks expanded spell list draws from literally every spell list. It's also just missing a handful of warlock spells.

I'm Loremaster for a game I'm currently playing in, but I don't like taking notes. It was an elected position. To make things better for myself, I said I would only fulfill the role if it was acceptable for me to take notes in character. The GM agreed. So now my 3/4 orc barbarian who never bothered to to learn how to read (because he was too busy hunting, mining, or fighting for his life or tribe) is adventuring to find his family who were taken by slavers. He's carrying a journal to mark down clues and make rough maps, but he still can't read or write. So he draws pictures exclusively. I'm using a leather bound journal I picked up at a ren faire, or GenCon, or something and hand drawing session notes. So it's all quick sketches and child-like drawings to get the important details down quickly because I, like Hnifur, am not worried about how any of the drawings look as long as they convey the proper message. Because of this involvement, I get an inspiration point (essentially; we're playing Pathfinder) every session I show up with the journal that expires at the end of every session. The best part for me, is I'm building my drawing skills again because of how quickly I need to sketch.

I recently made my own custom character sheet template on a google doc. I love it because I don’t have to fuss around with pdf editors and I can tweak the sheet as much as I want to add as much as I want. Attunement slots, weaknesses and resistances, a slot for special senses, class resource/ammo tracker, you name it!
I just started keeping an in-character journal for my genasi girl with just diary entries for how the session was from her perspective. It's super fun, and a real good way to work on character but MAN I might have to make a second journal like this!! It looks so freaking fun!
It is an absolute joy to see what love you both put into, and take from Aisling!!! She is one of your most precious creations, and carries so much importance, that it is impossible not to feel all the emotions that are present when you speak about her!!! I'm full of ideas now...
I love you character notebook. You are right, standard size binders take up too much room at our table. I have happily used comp books for my characters. Currently I am using a combination of phone app for my spells (and that of everyone else in case I have to play their character that day) as well a purple sparkly comp book for my Bard /Divine warlock. It has both campaign notes and bardic parodies that I've written over the course of the game. They've all been kind of stuck in where there was room an inspiration so I've had to start adding post-it flags to be able to find which are songs and which are campaign notes. I have been chronicling the adventures we've had in bardic parody. One of of our other party members is chronicling the events from her characters pov in a diary. Every week we look forward to "his" journal update. She has taken care to handwrite about 4pages/wk in a somewhat messy misspelled printed style. We all look forward to "Brick's " weekly entry because they're hilarious.
Omg the ad! The reference to book of mormon is spectacular and I love ur lyrics that you added! And the book! Ugh this is such a bueatiful journal! I love the fluidity of it and how expressive it is. Makes me wish I was a PC at the moment
I have been a DM for so long I forgot all that a Player needs to keep track of. I have been subscribed to you for quite a while and have always found new information from you that has been helpful. Thank you for being super awesome. You are so helpful.
Whatever they are paying you for the sponsorship it's not enough that was awesome! By far the best plug I've ever seen! Love this idea and the feel of it, feel inspired
I love this idea. My newest dnd character for 5e is a Firbolg druid : circle of the moon, I would love to put together a journal like this and have a separate esthetically pleasing notebook for session notes and I am going to keep sticky tabs or seperators that have tabs so I can easily reference back to certain events or NPC names or theories she may have had etc
I’m a DM and this sounds awesome for keeping track of NPC Backgrounds. So far I’ve been making digital drawings and having a google doc but this sounds lovely for note taking! I think I have a nice binder I could transform into a book of lore history and notes. I can even put an X if the NPC dies or have a box to check off. Also a box to check off if they’re considered to be undead/unkillable.
As someone wanting to get into D and D this is epic......with the miniscule understanding I have of the game this journal looked so easy to use. The artwork is something else!!!
I love seeing these videos where you just have fun and talk about things you're passionate about. I don't even play D&D or any other tabletop rpgs, but these are so fun to watch
For my DnD characters, I bought a pack of small note books that are thin and have different patterns and colors. It works out great that it doesn't take up too much room in my purse. And I'm really good at compressed page layout designs, so I was able to fit the whole character sheet onto one page, with the innovatory and spells (when called for) on other pages. The rest of the book is for campaign notes. The biggest issue I have with this method is expansion. Our current group likes to do Character Fun Facts (taken from Dungeons and Daddies) and I write them down. I'm now having to write them on a previous page. I guess I could start using the back of the book, as I highly doubt my campaign notes will reach the very end of this book.... This is a long way for me to say I'm jealous of your layouts and I think I'm going to redesign my system. The major bonus of saving space is not out weighing the desire for pretty things anymore.
I used that company's spell cards too to make a binder for my Wizard that I'll be playing in an upcoming campaign. I fished my cards out of the "Arcane" deck, which has some warlock specific spells buried within too. I keep them in sleeves just like those, except I don't double stack them. That way, it keeps the big level number on the back visible for quick reference...it _does_ add more pages though, and I _ammm_ a wizard so I'll have a lot of spells building up....buuut that's just more fun organizing for me, so that ain't no problem!
Ginny Di is the only youtuber whose ads I actually love watching, haha You've really helped me get my head around DMing the past few days! Can't wait to start my game in about a month!
My character, Andraius, is a dark elf druid with a sidekick tiger named Korsko and they decided to write their adventures in a journal type of way, so I have an entire notebook written by Andraius' hand and what they would notice in the environments and other characters of the game. It warms my heart
You have really outdone yourself this time Ginny. You truly are such a wonderful content creator. Thank you for making my day a little brighter with both your journal design and your hysterical sponsor advertisement. You're the best.
Ooh, this is a very neat and creative (not to mention useful) concept! I may very well have to build some themed journals for my players as Christmas gifts. ^^
What a delightful presentation! I played my first game of D&D in September, 1982, and still play with the same three friends. As I type this, I am preparing my latest character, Pachomatchus, a Wizard who specializes in Enchantment magic. (we're all in our 50's so we stick to D&D 3.5, which we have been using for 18 years) Similarly to yourself, I have this time elected to prepare a chronicle for him. I purchased a leather-bound notebook, subdivided by plain brown cardstock, into three sections. Section one, is for notes, hit points, names and info. from NPC's etc. Section two is named ARCANUS RECONDITUS, the cardstock divider for which is hand painted and contains my various spells. Section three is faintly watermarked by graph paper gridlines and will be used for mapping. Great ad by the way! Keep up the great work, m'Lady! _Pachomatchus (Donald)
Every single element of this vid is pure genius! I honestly can't believe I didn't think of creating a character journal myself. Oh! I just realized that I wrote one of my characters backstories in the form of a memoir so this would be doubly perfect for him!
I don't have a character journal, but I do have a playlist for my character, and I recently organized it so that when I listen to it all the way through it goes chronologically from her backstory to how she's developed while in the party!
I think the thing that impressed me the most was the hand writing and how straight the lines were. I am extremely jealous. Also a very beautiful note book over all. Can't wait to see more.
I love this idea. I would have never thought to take a scrapbooking approach to a player journal. I'm still learning how to play and approach journals and note taking. Thank you for sharing.
came back to this years later both because of the OGL quandary and because I'm finally playing a Druid. I want to get back to playing with pencil and paper but need a system that's not a mess! This is perfect. AND the idea that there are druid spell cards out there in the world has blown my mind. Thank you for this video!!
Her character may be an Eladrin (an elf subrace published in Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes). For them, having 4 different seasonal looks (and corresponding moods) is part of the package. Maybe you should look into them! (I have yet to figure out an Eladrin character I like, but I sure do want to play one!)
I have my own note book which I've been meaning to organise, as it just looks like the mindless scribblings of a madman 😂 Having watched this video, you've given me some ideas as to how I can go about said organisation. Thanks, and thank you for putting my notes to shame Knew I could count on you Ginny 👍😂
Your character journal looks fun. Scrapbook style is a very versatile way of keeping a character organized. I've been keeping character journals for years. Until recently, they've been words. Either dry bullet points, diary entries from my character's POV or as a novel-like story. The journal of my current character, now 2 years old, is a sketch journal. As the book is flipped through, you can follow the character's adventures through a chronology of pictures, with each "chapter" ending with a flashback. The sketchbook is filled with drawings and paintings of highlights from each session. Between each session set, I include a drawing or two from his backstory.
I have an extension that lets me mark sponsor segments so that future-me (and other users of the extensions) can skip the millionth ad about website builders, earbuds or mobile games. Usually I mark everything I come across, but that song is just too beautiful to skip ;)
I love so much that you make your sponsor bits into such wonderful bits. This one was almost as much fun to watch as the rest of the video, and I loved the rest of the video too....
Usually: *Doorbell rings* Me (ALL THE FREAKING TIME) : Hello! my name is Elder Price! Friends (*glance at each other worriedly*) : wuuuut... In this video: *Doorbell rings* Me: Ooh what's this?! Is she going to appear as Aisling? *Door opens on Ginny wearing an outfit reminiscent of Mormons* Me: Ooh, no. I got it wrong what could she possibly be doing? Ginny: Hello, my name is Ginny Di. Me: ... Me: ... Me: I'm stoopid.
Oh lord, now I need a binder for my characters too! The art that everyone did was so pretty and the binder is so aesthetically pleasing and looks like you can just put it in some bag and carry it around with you when going over to a friend's to play a game or whatever. Love how there is even a page for Nightshade! (Best dragon familiar, can't change my mind.)
Those spell cards are so useful! I have the wizard ones myself. Now I really feel like making a journal/scrapbook myself though! Since I'm playing a wizard, it sounds so much fun to make it look like an actual wizard spellbook. I really like seeing more stuff from Aisling. It's so much fun to watch.
Oh My Goodness - All-around-Brilliant! Where do we vote for the Emmy/Oscar/Creator award! Sincerely, this was super well done - thank you for the ideas, effort and polish. 👍🏻🎉💫
Read very favorable things of Scarlet Citadel, I have. How you play your characters is truly inspirational! Thank you for sharing your fantastic and beautiful journal with us.
OMG yes please! I want so much more of this! Show us your finished cosplay and journal! I absolutely adore the idea of a scrapbook of adventures! I am definitely going to adopt this method for my next campaign!!
This pleases the bullet journaler in me greatly. I've been trying the same method that you tried first but I was also worried about running out of space. Never thought about a 3 ring binder and I'm totally going to steal this idea!
I absolutely love this idea! A lot of my D&D characters have become meaningful to me - especially the one's I've played for longer campaigns - and this is a great way to express that.
I've started to keep both a journal and an appendix, where I generally keep things with proper nouns (NPCs, places, organizations, special objects, etc). It's easy to keep it organized, and alphabetized, on my iPad and it's much easier than searching through pages of messy notes when the DM references something from 6 months ago. I also started organizing my journal like a Skyrim quest log. I make up unique names for each quest and I can organize them as main quests, character quests, side quests, etc.
I love that Ginny has just embraced being a roleplaying content creator.
I've always created videos and music and content focused on the things I'm passionate about!! Lately, that's tabletop gaming!

Ayyye I'm playing a Half-elf Ranger multiclassing into Rogue
I recently made my own custom character sheet template on a google doc. I love it because I don’t have to fuss around with pdf editors and I can tweak the sheet as much as I want to add as much as I want. Attunement slots, weaknesses and resistances, a slot for special senses, class resource/ammo tracker, you name it!
I just started keeping an in-character journal for my genasi girl with just diary entries for how the session was from her perspective. It's super fun, and a real good way to work on character but MAN I might have to make a second journal like this!! It looks so freaking fun!
As a DM, you speak to my heart. I would cherish anyone who partook in my world to the same extent as you.
combining my two favorite things? journals and d&d? hell yeah, I'm in!
It is an absolute joy to see what love you both put into, and take from Aisling!!! She is one of your most precious creations, and carries so much importance, that it is impossible not to feel all the emotions that are present when you speak about her!!! To see and hear all that happiness, makes every time you share something about her, all the more endearing!! Because of all that, she is truly and incredibly special, and one of your most beautiful creations!!!
Wonderful ad insert XD
"Big ugly binder" tho, I feel a bit called out, with my big ol' binders of characters pretty much DIRECTLY behind me xD
I have found a wet erase on one of the sheet inserts for stuff you have to change but don't want to ruin your sheet over works really well ;)
Thanks for this walkthrough it was a lot of fun! I'm full of ideas now...
Guilty on the big old ugly binder too LOL. But I like having ALL of my spell cards handy, among other things.
I’ve never wanted to spend money more than now after that amazing ad
After that glorious ad all all the talk about scrapbooking, my wallet is looking at me funny.
Whatever they are paying you for the sponsorship it's not enough that was awesome! By far the best plug I've ever seen!
Love this idea and the feel of it, feel inspired
I love this idea. My newest dnd character for 5e is a Firbolg druid : circle of the moon,
I would love to put together a journal like this and have a separate esthetically pleasing notebook for session notes and I am going to keep sticky tabs or seperators that have tabs so I can easily reference back to certain events or NPC names or theories she may have had etc
This notebook makes me want to play dnd even more than I did before. Dang Ginny I loved this video!!!!
As someone wanting to get into D and D this is epic......with the miniscule understanding I have of the game this journal looked so easy to use. The artwork is something else!!!
I didn't know that musical sponsorships could be such a life-changing experience
Ad read - incredible. Journal - amazing combo of creativity and attention to detail. Very impressive.
Ginny Di is the only youtuber whose ads I actually love watching, haha
You've really helped me get my head around DMing the past few days!
That sponsor segment was the laugh I needed to day!! Thank you :D
that was the only ad I had no intention on skiping in my hole life
Ooh, this is a very neat and creative (not to mention useful) concept!
First add I've add through in a while
SUCCESS!!
Every single element of this vid is pure genius! I honestly can't believe I didn't think of creating a character journal myself.
Oh! I just realized that I wrote one of my characters backstories in the form of a memoir so this would be doubly perfect for him!
I just love your sponsored stuff! its so extra and creative :)
Also thankyou for posting links and amazon stuff, makes it so much easier ❤️❤️❤️
I don't have a character journal, but I do have a playlist for my character, and I recently organized it so that when I listen to it all the way through it goes chronologically from her backstory to how she's developed while in the party!
I love your hair in this video! And the ad spot was cool, too. Super classy!
I agree on the hair, did not like the add that much though
I’m just here exploring the whole RPG space currently but can I just say that may have been the best sponsor spot I’ve ever seen.
"Algorithms are terrible and analytics are meaningless" are words anyone can live by.
I think the thing that impressed me the most was the hand writing and how straight the lines were. I am extremely jealous. Also a very beautiful note book over all. Can't wait to see more.
This has got to be my favorite ad interruption of all time. 😂
I love this idea. I would have never thought to take a scrapbooking approach to a player journal. I'm still learning how to play and approach journals and note taking. Thank you for sharing.
i love this i have been trying to make a spell book and a note book and this has helped thank you.
Both your hairstyle and the ad read in this video were stunning! I don't know how you keep improving the quality of your videos but I love to see it.
The warlock cards are included in a slightly larger set labeled arcana, that includes wizard, warlock and sorcerer spells
I was planning on skipping the ad until it started and I couldn’t stop watching. Thanks for making an ad riveting and enjoyable
BEST AD BREAK EVER.
came back to this years later both because of the OGL quandary and because I'm finally playing a Druid. I want to get back to playing with pencil and paper but need a system that's not a mess! This is perfect. AND the idea that there are druid spell cards out there in the world has blown my mind. Thank you for this video!!
Forgive me Ginny but I am absolutely stealing that seasonal hair thing! It’s just too good!
Thanks to you and Mo Mo's immersion video I started making my own aesthetic journal for my first game as a player in years, I'm so excited!!!
I have my own note book which I've been meaning to organise, as it just looks like the mindless scribblings of a madman 😂
Having watched this video, you've given me some ideas as to how I can go about said organisation. Thanks, and thank you for putting my notes to shame
Knew I could count on you Ginny 👍😂
Your character journal looks fun. Scrapbook style is a very versatile way of keeping a character organized.
I've been keeping character journals for years. Until recently, they've been words. Either dry bullet points, diary entries from my character's POV or as a novel-like story.
The journal of my current character, now 2 years old, is a sketch journal. As the book is flipped through, you can follow the character's adventures through a chronology of pictures, with each "chapter" ending with a flashback. The sketchbook is filled with drawings and paintings of highlights from each session. Between each session set, I include a drawing or two from his backstory.
Ginni has the best ways to go about sponsor ads
This is the most extra thing I have ever seen and I 100% endorse it
I have an extension that lets me mark sponsor segments so that future-me (and other users of the extensions) can skip the millionth ad about website builders, earbuds or mobile games. Usually I mark everything I come across, but that song is just too beautiful to skip ;)
I love so much that you make your sponsor bits into such wonderful bits. This one was almost as much fun to watch as the rest of the video, and I loved the rest of the video too....
Usually:
*Doorbell rings*
Me (ALL THE FREAKING TIME) : Hello! my name is Elder Price!
Friends (*glance at each other worriedly*) : wuuuut...
In this video:
*Doorbell rings*
Me: Ooh what's this?! Is she going to appear as Aisling?
*Door opens on Ginny wearing an outfit reminiscent of Mormons*
Me: Ooh, no. I got it wrong what could she possibly be doing?
Ginny: Hello, my name is Ginny Di.
Me: ...
Me: ...
Me: I'm stoopid.
Also this video, this description, so organised. Puts my soul at ease.
I also have a dnd character who's named Aisling and is an elf lol
Oh lord, now I need a binder for my characters too! The art that everyone did was so pretty and the binder is so aesthetically pleasing and looks like you can just put it in some bag and carry it around with you when going over to a friend's to play a game or whatever. Love how there is even a page for Nightshade! (Best dragon familiar, can't change my mind.)
Green haired singer at the door beats a judgemental Jehovah's witness 9 times outta 10.
Languages: Sylvan, Elvish, and Vulgar 😂
Oh My Goodness - All-around-Brilliant! Where do we vote for the Emmy/Oscar/Creator award! Sincerely, this was super well done - thank you for the ideas, effort and polish. 👍🏻🎉💫
Read very favorable things of Scarlet Citadel, I have. How you play your characters is truly inspirational! Thank you for sharing your fantastic and beautiful journal with us.
10/10 ads, i NEVER skip them XD absolute ace, Ginny, love them, never change
OMG yes please! I want so much more of this! Show us your finished cosplay and journal! I absolutely adore the idea of a scrapbook of adventures! I am definitely going to adopt this method for my next campaign!!
This pleases the bullet journaler in me greatly. I've been trying the same method that you tried first but I was also worried about running out of space. Never thought about a 3 ring binder and I'm totally going to steal this idea!
That was the most epic advertisement I've ever seen! 🤣
The character sheet/journal was also fantastically beautiful of course ;-) Loved watching this.
I absolutely love this idea! A lot of my D&D characters have become meaningful to me - especially the one's I've played for longer campaigns - and this is a great way to express that.
I never thought I'd love the ad on a video as much as I do the content...
Well done Ginny!
oh my god i love the way you announced the sponsor. i love Book Of Mormon. it's like the first musical ive heard
I was NOT expecting that sponsorship ad but omg Ginny youve outdone yourself
I've started to keep both a journal and an appendix, where I generally keep things with proper nouns (NPCs, places, organizations, special objects, etc). It's easy to keep it organized, and alphabetized, on my iPad and it's much easier than searching through pages of messy notes when the DM references something from 6 months ago.
I also started organizing my journal like a Skyrim quest log. I make up unique names for each quest and I can organize them as main quests, character quests, side quests, etc.
