The diffused sky light appears whitewash of nothing where one couldn't see far into the distance, it invokes in people a melancholic feeling of emptiness.
*Fingertip* , one of the most sensitive parts of human body where nerve endings congregate. It is believed in traditional Chinese medical theory that the fingertip nerves are linked with the heart (mind), that pains felt in one organ can transmit to the other.
There is a Chinese proverb *十指连心* [shí zhǐ lián xīn] , literally, “the nerves of the fingertips are linked with the heart”, which means your loved ones are intimately linked with you.
*十指连心* 成语，意思是十个指头连着心，表示身体的每个小部分都跟心有不可分的关系，比喻亲人跟自身休戚相关。近义词：休戚相关

*The Legend of The Three-Life Stone* : Buddhists believe in metempsychosis, or the migration of the souls of animated beings, that people's relationships are predestined through three states of life : the past, present, and future life.
Legend has it that there is a road called the Yellow Spring Road, which leads to the Amnesic River. Over the river is a bridge called the Helpless Bridge (Naihe Bridge). At the head of the bridge sits a crimson stone called the Three-life Stone. The bridge must be crossed if one wants a reincarnation. If two dead persons (their souls) at the bridge agree to carve their names together on the Three-life Stone, they will be predestined together in their next life. Before crossing the bridge, the soul will be given the river water to drink to erase his/her memory of past life so he/she could start anew. If a couple die at different times and want to stay together in next life, the one who arrives first at the bridge will wait for the latter so they could cross the bridge together.
In reality, San-Sheng Shi (三生石), or Three-Life Stone is located beside Flying Mountain near the West Lake, Hangzhou. On the stone, there is seal with three Chinese characters that say "The Three-life Stone," and a description "The remarks of Monk Yuanze's three-life stone in the Tang Dynasty" on the stone, telling the origin of the story.
