Customization is one thing I've never understood how a developer could fail. Need For Speed Underground debuted 18yrs ago in 2003, and STILL beats 99% of automotive titles BY A LONG SHOT.
I just picked up this game and I agree with most of what you said with one exception: track selection. I really enjoy the track selection and feel there are plenty of tracks with enough variances to keep me from getting tired of any one configuration. While it's nice to have some real tracks now as DLC, I don't really feel it's that big of a deal that the base game didn't come with real tracks. However, I do find it really strange that Eldora of all tracks isn't on here considering Tony Stewart owns the freaking thing!
The creator's of forza need to develop a good straight dirt track game with those beautiful graphics cause the creators of these dirt games are not on the up and up

Well about 8 races in I lost control a little bit and absolutely BLASTED Tony on the track. After the race there was a press release saying 'Tony Stewart says Wagner should be permanently banned for dirty hit'. Immediately after that, up pops Tony with 'hey, we've all noticed how clean you've been racing out there these past few races, keep up the great work' LOLOLOLOL
I'm struggling to decide if I want to settle for fun arcade style or if I'll pass on it cause I want fun and realistic. I forgot this game was coming out and I saw it at Walmart and decided to pass on it for now
Haven't bought this one yet, but I love the sprint car game other than it being too easy. I also feel like a more realistic sim career mode would be amazing!

Nascar thunder 2004 was by far the best game the crash damage physics were awesome. Wish they would develop Nascar games with the same damage you had engine blow ups cars caught fire and the hoods and fenders had realistic damage and even tore off the cars and sent yellow flags out for debris.The commentators were also more in depth with the commentary they would focus on a specific driver,and go through the entire field and they also had a grand marshal. The arcade racing games are okay if you’re just a little kid with little to no experience with stock car racing but if you are a die hard racing fan and experienced with the sport of Nascar and are a serious fan of the sport you would expect a seriously realistic Nascar game. Sorta like baseball games if you are a serious fan of baseball you love playing MLB the show. If you’re some kid not really experienced with the sport but like baseball games you’ll most likely be playing Mega Baseball which is entirely arcade.
Monster games actually didn't make heat 5. they're contract with 704 ended after heat 4 and now 704 is developing the nascar games while motorsport games is publishing. Monster games seem to be making tony stewart games, but i have a feeling an SRX game might be coming since tony is apart of this.
Meh I don't think so dirt is his heart and soul I think first there gonna make tony stewarts sprint car racing 2 and have sprint cars flip falling off wings ect
@@TexturaI it's more like nascar heat 5. Like you can play on easy and a kid can have fun. If you play on expert it actually takes skill and practice to drive the car. There's a surprising amount of adjustments and setups you can tune as well on expert.
Waiting on the count down for the sprint car game and bought it immediately. As fast as I bought that game was as fast as I felt let down. The sprint car game just feels like it was made in the year 2000

Here's one Baxterville Speedway that is based very slightly but is based on a real track in Brainard,MN not far from Baxter,MN the irl counterpart to this track is North Central Speedway (NCS). Source me a Minnesotain and a real dirt stock car racer that has been there various times with family mainly for business as they also have a sheet metal supplier there.
It's cool they called the Minnesota track Baxterville. Intrested to see if its similar to North Central. I wonder if they cant use the real names because then they'd have to pay all those independent track owners?
I got the game and I like it but I pretty much suck. I started with the street stock. I did notice that on one track, maybe one of the first 5-10, that when I practiced there was just grass with the fence pretty far from the racing surface, but during qualifying and racing the fence moved to the edge of the track! Still like it over all, just takes some getting used to. I am playing on NORMAL with settings adjusted to make it a bit easier for me. I know there are three harder settings but Im struggling at THIS level!
Great review. Used to play some of the Ratbag games back in the day. Was also looking for something new since I finished Wreckfest. Just one important question, does this game have any kind of problem with steering delay? I've had a few games including Wreckfest where either there's a short input delay between the controller and the game, and also an infuriating problem where the front wheels will turn at a much slower rate than the movement of the controller. Has anyone had a problem like this?

Usually the front wheels turning is a setting within the game to smooth your inputs. If the car went 100% turn as quickly as your thumb stick, it would instantly understeer.
This is a budget title. Wanting things like changing track conditions? Gotta realize what this is before you go into it thinking it's anywhere near Dirt....that's madness.
Could some one list which tracks are real, or near real and which are just fantasy. About NH, it's quite sad that they just can't seem to get it in decent form, graphics are ugly(Xbox one X or PS4 Pro) it runs in many situation badly and there's lot of room for improvements in driving feel. They should lend some knowledge from companies who know how to make those areas in driving games.
Bought on the Microsoft store and feel like i wasted my money. You can really tell it’s developed by the same developers of Nascar heat. It’s arcade like. Really wish they would make these games more realistic and more simulation. The damage physics well there is none. This game just feels like a game for a kid. These new gen systems need to develop simulation stock car games similar to Iracing something that a more older generation would play instead of developing these kid arcade racing games. By far the best racing game i have played on console is Grid. And the best dirt track game is Dirt 4 haven’t tried Dirt 5 and wish i would have chose it over this. I feel like i’m playing the first Nascar heat game and $30 is entirely a rip off this game should have been $19 at the least. I believe it’s a waste of money the physics are trash. Pretty much equal to the Nascar heat games. Would not recommend it if you are a fan of racing. It’s just not realistic enough at least for what i look for in a racing game. racing games similar

They have a game just like you described. It's called IRacing. It's expensive but it's definitely not a kids game. Consoles are always going to be more arcade based, because that's what most kids can handle. Believe me, I have been a console gamer for years, and have two favorite game types. Racing, and combat flight sims. The closest racing sim type is grand tourism. There's nothing even close to a combat flight sim. Just ace combat, that's straight ass. But if I could afford the computer and gear for IRacing and DCS you would never find me on a console again.
@@rustyreese4006 Actually I seen a few short video clips of the new NASCAR 21 ignition game coming out on October 26th and it looks pretty good very much more simulation than the arcade nascar heat games. It looks like Iracing RFactor is one of the developers of the NASCAR 21 ignition game and I watched a few RFactor racing videos and the graphics are pretty good even the blow overs are realistic looking it looks like they got rid of the graphics where the car flies 100 feet in the air like in the nascar heat games.

Actually the game does have a cushion.... Billy Strange does a great job comparing it to his real life dirt racing experience.
