Did I possibly say very few months ago I wouldn't have been attempting something like this any time soon? Yyyyep, I love to throw shit on myself ^-^
Sooo, here again I'm trying to translate a language I'm not quite familiar with, but I decided to do it anyway since I want to test my understanding skills (then again, the lack of a good vocabulary is of no help -.-"). Danish's turn, this time. The translation should be overall correct, I think, but any correction and suggestion is, obviously, well-accepted and warmly encouraged ;)
The audio I used is made from the soundtrack + foley and fx: it is NOT the real movie version (couldn't find it in a fairly good quality, apart from the DVD version).

I honestly got chills. This Elsa even speaks majestically (at least before the dress change, I wouldn't trade the 'rise like the break of dawn' for anything, but the English one seems desperate to retrieve her lost childhood (which is only different, I'm not putting down either version).

I do not speak or understand Danish, but Lad Det Ske is my favourite version of Let it Go. The lyrics are (In the best way I can describe it) powerful and possess resonative power (In the sense that I resonate with Maria's Elsa) . My second and third favourite versions of Let it Go respectively are Atlequy Seraki by Nesma Mahgoub (Arabic) and Sad je Kraj by Jelena Gavrilović (Serbian).

We can hear and read the similarities all the time, even in modern English, such as the Danish 'til' used where we would use 'to', and then we hear the phrase 'from this moment until now' for example, which still uses 'til' in that manner.

Actually Walt Disneys inspiration to Disney world was Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, and The little mermaid is by Hans Christian Andersen the Danish writer, and Frozen takes a lot of inspiration from HC andersens Snow queen. So yes the animation is located in Norway, but in fact it is Scandinavian

Phrases that use old words tend to be similar in many related languages: 'the ship sailed up the stream' is much the same in most Northern European languages, for example.
Listen to her Chang’e dub. Very underwhelming, almost like they are two different people. She sounds so different here, very phenomenal.
The danish version sounds a lot more like a villian song to me - love it though especially the part where she sings that the gloves are taken of now
This is just my opinion but I think back to when she froze the fountain and her own subjects backed away from her and I feel like she was being treated as one from the moment she tried talking some sense into Anna and it was only getting worse. Even if the original gave some villain vibes (to me it did), i don't blame her.
Her voice has a very classic heavy metal kind of edge. Maybe that's why?

Like in most other languages, she's just that girl that had surpressed her true self, but now that everyone found out and that she's alone, she can finally be herself. In the danish version, however, she refers a lot more to the people she just left and how she'll show them now who she is. Like in the chorus, "Let it happen, let them see." or when she sings "Never again will I listen to them." it, at least to me, sounds a little like "I'm embracing my powers now, out of spite. You'll see what I'm capable of now." That's, of course, not in itself evil, but I could imagine this song also being sung by another character who intentionally curses a kingdom, you know what I mean?

There’s one question I’ve been wondering.. what languages do you speak
Tricky question... at an active level, I'd say I speak 4: Italian (native), English, Swedish, and French, in this order. Then, there's a bunch of languages I have easy access to at a passive level (meaning: I understand them through other languages I speak). The most solid of them are: Danish and Norwegian thanks to Swedish, and Spanish thanks to Italian. Then, I have some basic active knowledge of Old Norse, Icelandic, and Korean, though I can't say I _speak_ any of them. This being said, I have a tendency to explore any language I have any passive access to, mostly Romance and Germanic languages, hence why on my channel you can find a few translations from languages like Dutch or Catalan as well.

Norwegian and Danish have very similar languages don’t they?
At a written level, they do, it can even be hard to tell them apart. When spoken, there's no way of confusing them.
Ron Swanson All of the Scandinavian languages are very similar since they all stem from old Norse but Danish and Norwegian are particularly similar since, after the Kalmar Union broke up because of Sweden declaring independence, the kingdom of Norway would officially ruled by the Danish mornarchy, making Norway part of the Danish kingdom, essentially making them one country for nearly 300 years, more specifically 278 years(1536 - 1814), not including the Kalmar Union which lasted for 126 years(1397 - 1523) making Noway and Denmark pretty much one country for 404 years. So we’ve been roommates for quite some time...
BUT there are two different ways of spelling Norwegian, as far as I know. One is called Bokmål and is very similar to danish in the sense that pretty much everything is exactly the same except for a few minor differences. It’s the most common way of spelling in Norway and was created after Denmark and Norway’s seperation. It was created by altering the Danish language, which was the official writing language in Norway during the whole one country period, so that the written language would look more like the way that Norwegians would pronounce it. But it was called Riksmål up until 1929.
Another way of spelling, which was born at the same time as Bokmål, called Nynorsk(directly translates to New Norwegian. Very creative Norway) is quite different from the Danish way of spelling. It was created, not by altering another language, but by writing what the Norwegian dialect sounded like. But even though the two “languages” were created at the same time, the overwhelming majority(up to 90%) stick to Bokmål and foreigners will also most likely learn Bokmål when coming to Norway(especially if it’s because of study) and not Nynorsk since the dialect aspect of Nynorsk simply isn’t that useful for anyone just learning plain and dialect-free Norwegian.

Ron Swanson I’m from Denmark and a lot of people who isn’t from Scandinavia think that we got no trouble understanding each other. But if you are from Sweden and talked to a danish person we wouldn’t got any idea of what they are saying. And the other way around.

Non avrei mai detto che conosci anche un pochino di danese. Infatti appena mi è arrivata la notifica, la mia reazione è stata tipo: "Che? Danese? Da quando? O.O" Ahah
Non avevo mai letto la traduzione di questa versione e devo dire che mi piace molto, ma non mi convince completamente.
Forse mi sbaglio, ma a me sembra che il messaggio in certi punti sia: "Io sono così. Se piaccio al popolo bene, altrimenti si arrangiano" come ad esempio in "Adesso gliela farò vedere io", in "Non li starò a sentire mai più" o in "E la mia vita ai piombi della paura è finita, devono capirlo!"
Oddio, è del tutto comprensibile che Elsa sia arrabbiata dal fatto che lei non abbia potuto essere libera.
Però, personalmente, a me non piace moltissimo questo tipo di messaggio.
Magari (come ho detto prima) mi sbaglio e ho solo frainteso i versi.
D'altro canto ci sono altri versi che mi piacciono tantissimo, come ad esempio "Ho perso tutto contro una magia crudele". Riassume perfettamente la sua condizione in quel momento.
Oppure anche "Il monte gelido è la mia vera casa" che è molto simile al nostro "Da oggi il freddo è casa mia".
Adoro com'è stato reso il "You'll never see me cry" in "Sono finite la sottomissione e le lacrime amare".
Mi piace tanto anche l'ultimo ritornello: il riferimento ai guanti in "I guanti sono ormai stati sfilati" (cosa che, almeno nelle versioni in cui conosco la traduzione, non ho mai letto); "Vedrete ghiaccio e neve / Sono pronta per un nuovo giorno"
Tutto sommato è bella.
Se non fosse per quella piccola sfumatura di messaggio di cui ho parlato all'inizio, sarebbe perfetta ^^

Ahaha effettivamente, mi piace scioccare la gente xD Comunque questo è un riflesso del fatto che sto studiando lo svedese: checché ne dicano i nordici, citando la mia prof, "le lingue germaniche scandinave (danese, norvegese e svedese) sono un’offerta 3x1". Per cui non t’impressionare, sembra un’impresona, ma in realtà, quando te la cavi con una di queste tre lingue, riesci grossomodo ad orientarti anche nelle altre due. Riesco perfino a capire *un pochinoinoino* di islandese (ma poco poco xD). Per dirti, qua sotto ho provato a tradurre (coi miei limiti tecnici) i primi versi della versione danese in svedese. Prova un po’ tu a fare il confronto e ti rendi conto di che cosa sto parlando:

Beh, danese, norvegese e svedese sono probabilmente i parenti più prossimi all'inglese (quando formo le frasi in svedese, io mi baso molto sulla struttura inglese della frase).
L'islandese, oltre ad essere la mia lingua preferita, è (malauguratamente per me) una delle lingue più complicate al mondo, dato che, derivante dal norreno, come tutte le altre lingue scandinave, al contrario delle sue parenti continentali, è rimasta praticamente invariata nei secoli. Per cui, per quanto Frozen sia indubbiamente ambientato in Norvegia, se volessimo sentire il suono della lingua in cui i personaggi si suppone parlino, dovremmo andarci a pescare la versione islandese. Però, al contrario di te, io sono rimasta profondamente delusa. I testi li ho trovati assolutamente effimeri e il cast non è nulla di eccezionale, ed Elsa in particolare è stata un'enorme delusione. Per quanto la preferisca come Elsa che come Rapunzel, secondo me, lei non riesce banalmente a star dietro alle canzoni, che sono decisamente fuori dalla sua portata. E contando il rispettabile repertorio Disney islandese, da quegl'isolani, io mi aspettavo decisamente di meglio...
Eee sì, certo che ho sentito "How far I'll go"! Allora, per quello che ho sentito dalla versione dei titoli di coda, il testo mi sembra molto interessante (altro che "let it go"). Poi, il genere della canzone non è esattamente il mio preferito, per cui aspetto di sentire la versione del film, ma il debutto mi fa ben sperare ^-^

Comunque ho letto la traduzione di quella islandese e sembra più o meno la traduzione letterale di quella inglese, con qualche parola diversa qua e là. Seppure è, più o meno, giusto che una traduzione di una canzone debba essere il più vicino possibile a quella originale, non mi piace che sia esattamente identica. Penso che il traduttore ci debba mettere un po' del suo per far rendere quella versione bella e unica. Non so se mi spiego...
Appena ho sentito la canzone, ho pensato subito a te, perché immaginavo che l'avresti pensata come me. Il testo mi piace tantissimo e il genere, al contrario di te, è il mio preferito. Quindi praticamente l'ho sentita un sacco di volte e stranamente ancora non è arrivato il momento in cui mi son stufato di ascoltarla ahah
Comunque mi sa che l'autore di "How far I'll go" non è lo stesso di "Let it go". Ecco perché il testo mi sembra decisamente migliore.
Sto già cominciando ad immaginarmi come possa essere una possibile versione italiana e anche da chi verrà cantata nella nostra lingua. Stavo già pensando a quale cantante potevano prendere dalle serie TV in onda ora su Disney Channel ed ero indeciso tra Soy Luna e Alex & Co... Ma poi mi è venuto in mente che probabilmente faranno cantare Carola Campagna che cantò anche "Se solo" di Descendants...

Beh, sai come la penso sugli adattamenti dei testi: prediligo un adattamento libero e migliorato ad uno fedele che porta le stesse pecche dell'originale. Per cui, col cuore che sanguina, ho dovuto venire a patti col fatto che la versione islandese di Frozen sia veramente un massacro. E se posso permettermi di farti qualche proposta che renda giustizia alla Disney islandese e alla loro splendida lingua...

Non so chi prenderanno a doppiare per noi e non mi voglio sbilanciare ad azzardare ipotesi (anche se il fatto che fosse Rossa Caputo a doppiare il trailer mi fa pensare che avremo due voci separate, e la cosa non mi dispiace), ma per quanto riguarda Carola Campagna, data l'enorme passione che ha per la Disney, penso che presto o tardi ce la ritroveremo comunque in un film maggiore, anche solo per cantare nei titoli di coda. Comunque sono andata a sentirmi alcune delle doppiatrici in altre lingue che sono già state annunciate e, oltre ad averne trovate un'infinità spaventosamente giovani (ora sì che sono depressa...), ne ho sentite alcune per le quali ho delle buone aspettative, penso che ne vedremo davvero delle belle :D
