Y'know I'm not adventurer but when I see an person stuck on an altar surrounded by a fancy looking pattern of blood pits I kind of assume that "it's a sacrifice" is a given rather than something I need to think about.
Alternate translation I saw in another vid had the character observing the soldiers were still alive and having their blood flow in the channels to the altar, keeping the shield up.

As Goblin Slayer works by DND-esque rules I guess you can rule it as Priestess's player knowing that it's a cult sacrifice but going last in initiative order can only act on it after everyone else, so in game their character only "realises" at the start of their turn.
@@MehnixIsThatGuy It is quite obvious that the person on the altar is a sacrificial offering. But would everyone realizes instantly that the soldiers were not laying around randomly, and it was their sacrifice that powered the shield?

I don't know about you, but I have this purify spell that turns blood into water and removes all barriers, the most dangerous and unbalanced weapon that does not counter. And goblins, as always, were shown /made pawns, extras, even that priest turned out to be zero. And in general, Goblin slayer already has such a reputation among goblins that they should already get smarter, organize themselves and find a leader who knows his habits, strengths and weaknesses.
I think that he makes a point of not letting any goblin scape so they don't learn from his tactics.

It was a Nat 20 with an advantage, plus proficiency, plus other bonuses.
If my memory is correct he can canonically ignore bad rolls though he isn't conscious of it.

@@dandead2 for this season they probably are. Goblin Slayer got his throwing dagger from the fall festival arc and I'm pretty sure season 2 only has 12 episodes and this was episode 11. Maybe we'll get it in season 3

Changing animation studios was a mistake. This show has entirely lost its identity. The things that made it unique are gone.
