@@thevipez8740 context bro. The woman was criticizing the soldiers for not losing anyone while lots of natives ended up dying. Rory explained that they fought from long range. If someone from the soldiers died it would have been something to commend according to the lady speaker's logic, but it would have been meaning less because a soldier's death in that battle would not have saved any extra lives, in fact less gunfire may have compromised more lives against the dragon.
Hope my explanation cleared up the quote a bit, but I wonder......Rory's words seemed perfectly clear to me.

Seriously, Rory saying: 'The army saved 3/4th instead of killing 1/4th.' Was actually really good! It hit me in the feels, because the whole world thinks and says thinks negative instead of positive!

It's awesome how Rory was able to deduce that through the questions being asked, that the military is being disrespected. The writing in this show was stellar. Rory rewording "one fourth died" to "three fourths were saved" and that brilliant punchline at the end with the ages.
I still hope for an 3rd Season, but probably never gonna happen

One of the things about Rory Mercury that I love so much is that she isn't a lover of War. She's a priestess of it. She believes war has a place, a purpose. And this speech illustrates that so well. It's a refreshing take on being a follower of War.
Actually, if you think about it.. war is horrible but as you said it has a place, even in our world. Since the beginning of our time. War have been fought for resources and countless people have died, yet that has controlled our numbers. Now that we are living in a "peaceful" world, hunger, devastation, suffering is rampart and create even bigger problems. Wars are, in a way, a necessity

It's actually way better than the West where kids absolutely have little to no respect shown towards their elders.
This is how it is in many societies. Even in countries like the US people often look at folks and say "you should respect your elders"
I had a person one time at a conference talking about how to collect funds for a group say that to me after I suggested looking at various retail/food companies for donations.

We as humanity focus only on those lost and say nothing for those saved. I doubt the western audience caught it, but this anime has some great slaps at Japanese politicians. This one in particular makes fun of the head of the Japanese Socialist Party, whose only talent in real life seems to be to attack Japan and bow down to Korea and China.

Nah. This is something that occurs even on this side of the globe. For example, in México being part of the public agencies like public security, health or education is almost like being part of a gang. People here complain more about the Police than the narcos. And this is widely spread in Latínamerica.

In the manga, some of the ppl behind the cameras were like: '' Did you taped/recorded this?'' and later they showed on someone's computer screen, a thumbnail of the video clip with Rory's face and the words ''Are you baka?''. If such a thing happened in our reality, the views would pass the 6 digits easily.

I do wish they would make more. The story, the show, they both were well written, with great characters, and great dialogue between said characters. Having another few seasons come out would be amazing.
Read up on the light novel. It is better, with the thing being less sparkly as the manga or anime especially for what happens a bit after..
