I can't speak for anyone else but I stopped doing pulldowns and pullups and only did various rows and my lat thicknes and width blew up. Compared to when I was doing pull downs and weighted pullups. A buddy of mine suggested I switch and woww what a change it made. I guess everyone has to find what works for them.
well the thickness is what the rows are made for the width prolly comes from the mid lats because they are more prone to activate during rows id argue that they are best target during rows actually due to the way the fibers run
Arnold used to say the body after awhile will KNOW what is coming during your workout and the best way to fuck up the body from knowing what was going on was to shock it with different movements. could be a little of that. I actually stopped doing chin ups because my left shoulder feels like it is popping out of the joint. Probably some tendonitis from shooting archery. In time of laying off and starting back up with wider gripped chins, and low seated rows elbows in. The body seemed to say to me,,,,,WTF ! And what a pump and SCREAM the lats been doing. I also found more reps, 20 does me better than 12 with heavier weight. Could be form, activation or something who knows. I just try to remain strong in order to shoot the bow. I need muscle endurance as well for long shooting sessions. So those 20 reps with heavy weight, seem to work for me.

Bro don't mind if ask but to make a body like your level we have to spend a lot, to our self and many people don't know how can they even make money after doing this much exercise and hard word. So, would you be kind enough to shear your story with us and what you do for living?
personally i feel like using those assisted pullup machines need more technique to equate to a regular pull up. A fun way to build pulling power is getting into rock climbing. But learning how to do a pull up with body weight is its own skill that needs to be focused on if you want to make quick progress. Unfortunatley unlike compound lifts, the skill of pull ups is a lot of not quite pull ups that need to be trained. Depending where you start, slow negatives and scapular pull ups then banded pull ups. Once you get to one pull up, just do your one pull up whenever you get the chance, everyday.
Every "fitness" influencer: Step 1 - get on steriods (basically ruin your life for some short-term gratification). Step 2 - just go workout without any real knowledge of what your doing (studies show that men on steroids who do zero training will gain more muscle than men who are natural and execute a flawless, rigorous training plan for decades). Step 4 - just get your macros in. No need to follow any kind of disciplined, nutritional whole foods diet. No need to cut out junk food. (Roids and youth cover that for you). Step 4 - keep thinking these people have any idea what they're talking about.
