Thanks for the short review. I bought one, haven't unboxed it yet, but wanted to get someone's opinion on it before I did. After your video, I'm confident that this will more than meet my needs, at least for now. 👍
I really like the Hackerboxes Monthly subscription - hard to pick favorites because they have all been pretty cool, but there was one that had two boards that you set up to communicate with each other via laser diodes - that was probably my favorite
@@dieselrc9768 Ahh sorry to hear your other one melted! Yeah this one hasn't had any problems - even been in the garage here in Florida for the last year too
Thanks for the detailed review. I'm thinking about buying this same model and I have a question for you. When you first turn on the soldering iron, does it remember the last temperature it was set to and automatically heat to that temperature? For me this would be handy because I will likely use the same temp a lot. Or does it always start at some minimum temp each time you power it on, forcing you to set the working temp every time you use it?
I'd have to test it to be sure, but I think it would stay at the same temperature, because the dial has end points so I think it's just a potentiometer in there... I will test it out
yeah.. it was time for me to get off of my 63 yr old fanny and do some electronics hobby stuff. I ordered mine earlier today. 'Liked'/'Subscribed' etc.... see you later
Good luck! :) Have you seen the Hackerboxes? it's a cool monthly subscription with a new project ever month - I have no affiliation, just a customer :) hackerboxes.com

What are your top 3 favorite/enjoyable projects? Considering the item you were soldering, and the satisfaction of the result

I got one of these for the price and have a few BGAs to reflow.. will have to determine the temp of course but I think it will be quite helpful
Yeah I have tried a couple times to use the hot air and so far I'm not very good at it LOL
Now that you have had it for a couple years dose it still work ??
Yes it does - no problems at all with it
Good to know I just ordered one. My trekpower 950 just overheated and burned up the control board,😮💨

@@JamiesHobbies-GGB I ended up ordering this model and sure enough, it does retain the temperature set point after power cycling.
@@curtwalker24 Thanks for letting us know!
Thanks!
what's soldering iron replacement for this?
_tengo este modelo y no trae nada atrás de conexión a tierra ni trajo ningún cable_
Thank you looks pretty nice
Yeah I like it so far! :)
Hi, why are the themp numbers flickring? Is that normal?
I think that's just the refresh rate of the video catching that - it doesn't look like that in person :)
