your Hoya videos are my favorite . you are simple and honest, straight to the point, without mocking or posing, and your plants are gorgeous and looking healthy and big -the result and loving care speak for themselves ❤ Thank you and all the best
Thank you Patricia; I have to say that this is a Hoya that I really never mastered, and no longer keep. Good luck with your new plant, and I hope that you grow it better than I was able to!
Got my first one a week ago, and it has dropped 3 leaves. Some are also yellowing… not sure what’s wrong… but per this vid, will give it some warmth and humidity 🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾 thanks for sharing your experience.
I still have Hoya deykeae around, but it has never been a good performer for me. It is very prone to some kind of leaf yellowing and bacterial or fungal spotting which drives me nuts. It really does need pretty warm conditions with good humidity to do well. I wish you much better luck growing it than I have had over the past 5 or 6 years!
@@DougChamberlainVTHoyas sooo … umm, you’re not alone😂 My new baby has lost 5-6 leaves already, three are yellowing and I have no idea why😕 Is yours doing better in any particular medium?

@@DougChamberlainVTHoyas will change the soil later one… but I think it’s the chill factor. It shipped and arrived with a high of 50’s… maybe that did it in. Either way, may try a replacement come spring if this one doesn’t make it. Thanks Doug for sharing your experience with me.
I have just placed an order with the Swedish Hoya society for a Hoya finlaysonii x Deykeae so I am super excited about that . I will not be able to get to Europe until spring but my dearest friend is living there and the plant will just spend the winter with her ❤️. I have also put my self on the wait list with the Swedish Hoya society for the ever elusive Hoya sp Borneo gunung gading
That is very exciting! There is nothing like getting ones hands on that special new Hoya that you have been wishing for! Your friend is a good one to take care of it for you.
Helpful video thank you. I would have probably over watered otherwise. I just got my hands on 5 cuttings with several nodes each. I'm super excited to root them. 🤩
This my #1 Wishlist Hoya right now... 🥰🥰🥰 Can't wait til I get my little hands on one... Just gotta wait til the price comes down some... Stupid Pandemic 😭😭😭 tyvm for sharing it and the care for it 🤗🤗🤗
Hi Kevin, I have no experience with cv. Rainforest. I looked up photos on the web, and while it is nice; I don't know if it is different enough from H. macgillivrayi to pursue.
Am I correct in assuming that cv. Kaimuki is a cross between H. archboldiana and H. macgillivrayi with archboldiana being the mother plant and cv. Rainforest is a cross between H. macgillivrayi and H. archboldiana with H. macgillivrayi being the mother plant with the seedpod?

Blanca, I would recommend Hoya halconensis if you can find it. It is a great fast growing Hoya that blooms in a reasonable amount of time with gorgeous flower. Hoya cumingiana is also a fast grower with spicy scented blooms. All of the pubilcalyx are also easy and fast growing, but you will have to wait at least 2 years for flowers.
Mostly my tip is to not over water as I find it very susceptible to root rot. Can be slow to get going, but if kept warm and humid will rapidly come around.

Yes, it is what the offspring of Hoya kerrii and Hoya callistophylla would look like if they were paired together.

Hi Doug, thanks for your video. Do your reckon this species would grow well in semi-hydro considering its picky watering needs?
It quite possibly could grow better in semi-hydro. I still struggle with this plant, and because of this it is not one of my favorites.
@@DougChamberlainVTHoyas Thanks Doug, I think I'm gonna give it a shot in semi-hydro!
I grow mine on leca so in semi hydro. It grow well but need a lot moisture so I put top glass on it.

Please, may youhelp me? How much humidity?
Hoya deykeae will thrive in 70-90% humidity and will do okay in 50-60%, and just sit there when the RH is less thank 50%

pubicalyx pink silver or royal hawaiian purple grow wild.

Why the leaves like burn on deykea ? Only look like burn or it really sensitive to the light??
Or a nutrient deficiency on this ?
Hi I just received mine any care tips?

Bagaimana cara merawat?
Ini adalah tanaman yang sulit untuk tumbuh dengan baik. Pastikan untuk tidak terlalu banyak air dan tetap sangat hangat dan lembab.
